Evil Inc: Gaming’s Corporate Villains
My uncle was supposed to be on that plane but he had to bad of grades so they didn’t let him go.
Jesus. I wrote “Spirts” instead of “Sports”. I truly need a new pair eyes. The saying is true: Getting old is not for sissies.
I end my critique by noting that the narrator’s somewhat sonorous voice would be excellent for those who find a good night’s sleep difficult to achieve. I cannot dispute his knowledge about the two teams as I don’t really care enough about either team enough to investigate their shared history. I DO know that in 1971 mighty No. 1 ranked Nebraska met also mighty No. 2 ranked Oklahoma in the so-called “Game of the Century” in Oklahoma. Both teams were undefeated going into the contest and the game lived up to the hype with Nebraska going on to win by a whisker, 35-31. Spirts Illustrated hyped the upcoming game on their cover: Irresistible Oklahoma Meets Immovable Nebraska. I also noted that when Nebraska met Miami it was often touted as the Good Guys (Nebraska) vs the Thugs (Miami). I now end my obsevations about the video. Happy New Year to all. May 2025 recover from a horrible start (homegrown terrorism in New Orleans and calamitous fires in California) and be good to us all.
At 15:16 the narrator again refers to the “Husker black shirts”. I am now so confused by the narrator for the second time referring to the red Jersey Huskers as “black shirts” that I felt compelled to look it up. I now understand why the defensive unit is sometimes referred to as the black shirts thanks to something on Google that explains why this is so. Did the narrator ever mention this earlier in the video? If he did not, shame on him. If he did, shame on me and I stand corrected and apologize.
I hear fairly well but the narrator is very inconsistent when he speaks. He seems to raise and then lower his voice so much it is as if he has lost focus. He seems distracted or even disinterested in what he is saying. So much so that I have to turn on the subtitles to see what I am missing.
At 6:55 the narrator says that Nebraska’s defense “stiffens back up”. He could have said that the defense “stiffens up” and that would have sufficed.
In my last comment, I was careless and I typed “fefers” instead of “refers”. I give myself an F for carelessness.
Ok, I Have returned. At 6:31 the narrator says that Nebraska has “cut the deficit down to three”. In this case, the words “down to” are superfluous as he should have said “cut the deficit to three”. This may seem trivial but how you say things does matter. Okay. On we go. The narrator fefers to Nebraska as “the black shirts”. This is odd because Nebraska’s jerseys are red.
My American Staffordshire Terrier is beating me up so I need to stop my critique with these two observations. 1. Based on the video, the first Orange Bowl meeting between Miami and Nebraska did NOT start with a Nebraska field goal. The FG attempt by Nebraska was blocked. 2. Miami did not “answer back”. They “answered”. Saying that they “answered back” is grammatically incorrect. If my dog does not eat me I will continue with my critique a bit later.
The word “hallowed” is NOT pronounced “hollowed”. When did the two teams at the beginning of the video play each other? What year was it? What CENTURY was it? Were the two teams Miami and Nebraska? If so, they are NOT located on “opposite ends of the country”. Also, the narrator is very hard to hear. Sometimes, his voice can be heard but at others, it is as if he dropped something and leaned too far away from the microphone while reaching to pick up whatever it is that he dropped. Definitely an inauspicious way to start his presentation and there is a long way to go.
Crowning a national champion before finishing their season was lame. Just claiming a Natty for no reason is lamer and I’m looking at you UCF. Winning it the right way is the best way
You sound exactly like alternate history hub lol
Huskers have the worst luck
Everybody suffered from SMU's Death Penalty, because as the ESPN 30 for 30 stated, SMU's Death Penalty was the death nail for the Southwest Conference. It wreaked havoc with the schedule for everyone for two years because of SMU having no football for two seasons that the SMU's death penalty essentially accelerated for schools like Arkansas, who were looking to leave the conference prior to this, due to considering themselves the outsiders among the 8 Texas Schools and I think Texas and A&M were also looking to get out before SMU's death penalty. SMU getting the death penalty pretty much accelerated the dissolution of this conference.
Are we not gonna talk about how he said 6 teams were tied in 2000 when he put 7 2000 teams
Updated list 2023 Michigan top five all-time team
Never heard this story. Well done for telling this
BYU starts to ring a bell in a way. Crazy how success can come to so called bottom feeder when the rules are changed.
One of my college professors who has been a mentor for me is a UAB grad and one of the leaders of the protests back in 2014 and the Free UAB movement
Correction: yes, it was legal. The NCAA is not a government agency. What SMU did was against the rules of the organization - NOT against the law.
Wasn’t mentioned, but remember that 1980 holiday bowl featured byu scoring those 21 points with less than 4 minutes left of play
I like the idea… hate ur voice/tone/demeanor/ur mom/everything u stand for
Wichita state had too shut its program down after a plane crashed with the team on it killing them all😢
I’m confused how Illinois isn’t on this list. They’ve sucked
IM SOOOO HAPPY FOR ZAYYYYYY but laughing at the king 👑 😂😂 he was like oh hey, cool lmao. Too use to it he wants the ring 😂😈
What SMU did wasn’t all surprising. Every program was doing it the difference was they were discrete and knew to cover their tracks. SMU meanwhile just made it obvious for the entire world to see.
Future Atlanta Falcons legend? It's his 1st season with Atlanta and is just now getting to start. How bout we wait and see what he does before we call him (Penix Jr.) A legend. I can't tell you how many times Atlanta drafted a really good college player who turned out to be mediocre at best.
its a joke, ive also called june jones an atlanta falcons legend in another video lol
Theyre paying NCAA players now so you cant say it wasnt legal or ok
Fun fact: Dick Kazmaier later donated his Heisman Trophy to his High School alma mater in Ohio.
When did SMU win a share of the national title?
How about Northwestern, Temple, Columbia, and Prairie View?
I'm honestly just surprised Kansas & UConn weren't there.
UConn was an fcs/1AA school until recently.
Fun Iowa State fact: Iowa State is the reason a safety gives the ball back to the scoring team. In 1925, while winning 7-0 Iowa State's QB took the snap and ran backwards into the endzone before kneeling and giving up a safety. At the time scoring a safety gave the ball back to the team who had the ball previously, so with a score of 7-2 Iowa State took the ball back, and proceeded to use this strategy to burn off time and run the clock down before eventually winning 7-6. The rule was changed the following season
I really don't know if you are wrong or right yet, but the first round of the college playoffs kind of gave us a hint the big teams aren't going away anytime soon
Who is fielding yahst?
Where is UMass?
Great video! If you ever do a part 2, the New Mexico bowl between Arizona and Nevada in 2012 has all the designations. Arizona scores a late touchdown. Then they get the crazy onside recovery. They got some help from an iffy pass interference and ultimately win in the final moments. 49-48 win in a game that saw 200 play calls. It was insane!
as a fan, i almost felt bad for Scott Frost. He was obviously trying, but couldn't get anything to work.
We did suck with Scott frost
