Honestly the most underrated youtuber itw. This is the type of quality content you’d expect from someone with millions of subs.

Bethesda trademark - quality is poor. Combat system is boring, repeating , difficulty is insulting adult players, everything valuable or fancy is behind the paywall and the monetization of the studio is predatory. Their games are flooded with critical bugs making content unplayable and it suffers drastic changes without clear direction or strategy. Or just call it Twitch red. The reason they don't do that though is because they are navigating around laws that would then add them to adult site lists for ISP parental controls. In some countries that could also include adding their site to a list of sites that are only accessable after certain times etc. They would then risk loosing their thirsty 12 year old fanbase and therefore loose revenue. They IMO are trying to make soft core P more accessable to children to pad their anylitics so they can hide that side of the site from marketing companies by calling it pools and hot tubs section and get that juicy ad revenue. Using the analytics of daily viewers and potential eyes on products being marketed as a sell point to advertisers. Just look at our daily through traffic. Oh don't worry we're not a soft core P site! Honest! 😏

The issue is that Starfield lacks any form of roleplay or exploration. From what I had played of Starfield there was practically no choice even down to classes the choices were very minimal. You can only really use guns and stealth is barely an option. Exploration is pretty obvious in Fallout and Elder Scrolls I barely ever used fast travel because the map was actually made there was things to look at, there was random encounters that were handcrafted but Starfield lacks that. Its a Bethesda game but its not got the diversity of any build besides run and gun and the exploration is being dropped in a rock desert and being told to go towards the glowy blue dot and the built-in clairvoyance.

I actually enjoyed starfield. Not saying it was as good as fallout or Skyrim but I enjoyed the gameplay 🤷‍♂️

I agree 100% that more categories should be added for DLCs, remakes, remastered or whatever. I have no idea how a DLC can be nominated when it's a DLC, not a game. We've been on the same page about this tho lol gah, I miss E3. It was a blast. I loved watching all things E3. Take me back 😭

Man, a DLC with that level of quality deserves the nomination (and hell compared to Dragon's Dogma II, deserves the fuckin' award IMO lol). At least this puts on the table that a DLC can sit as a possibility of putting a dev's game into the awards. Even if Elden Ring didn't win, just getting a nomination sets a precedent. And winning would just put on the map that a DLC can win you GOTY twice if you're a damn good studio. IMO this incentivizes studios to put out DLC as good as their games for another shot at that award and recognition in the industry, my dude. Even if it feels unfair by definition, you gotta admit that a fuckin' good DLC can be just as nice to put into your cart as a new game, and Shadow of the Erdtree being up in that group of nominations sets the precedent nicely - they ain't even gotta choose Elden Ring lol.

Post Show Update: Honestly I think they took the “advertisement awards” feedback to heart (evident by the jokes they made) and while it was still a little ad heavy, it’s a far cry from 2023. Had fun, good announcements, and a FUCKING DLC didn’t win. Win win win. Good job Geoff 👍

and i dont like how they killed Warzone [Verdasnk] and gave us a [NEW ]broken Warzone instead , if they bring Verdansk back millions of gamers would come back to play and they know it . just like you said they will bank in nostalgia with Verdansk in the future .... like why not just give us the map we like now .

The best dlc i ever played was iceborne. Not story wise, obviously, but because it literally was like as much content as the base game for world. Shit was peak. Also, I agree. DLC should not be nominated whatsoever.

As much as shadow of the erdtree is easily one of the greatest expansions to exist. It definitely shouldn't win an award given to full length games. They really should have released a whole new category, that we all know would just be made for shadow of the erdtree to win, if they're likely just giving it to fromsoft anyways. Fromsoft has gotten their dues and this is just putting ice cream on a 7 layer cake. It also comes with the unfortunate side effect of Miyazaki's 3 F's taking center stage. Fighting, femboys, and his undying foot fetish.

From what I remember, to help hammer home how big E3 used to be, it was like video game Comic Con. Since it was one big event, where they HAD to put their best foot forward, it made them work harder to put only their best work out onto the floor. If your best wasn't out there, you were effectively handing your customer base over to your competitors. They were still giant glorified ads for each respective company and their workers products, but there was incentive because the stakes were so much higher. In the digital age, the stakes kinda just aren't there anymore, and it's honestly their own fault. While they can keep it digital if they want, by having so many events in a year they trivialized them. It's little more than watching infomercials at this point, and at least the people that direct infomercials try to make it vaguely interesting. That said, I do agree full-heartedly. Back to the main topic, a DLC may have an entire game's worth of content in it, but that doesn't make it a full game because as per the definition of what it is, it can't be game of the year. It would be like trying to say Sims 3 Seasons is the best Sims 3 game for PC, or that Ode to Castlevania is the best game when it's a DLC for Vampire Survivors. They're great additions to those games, but they are not games unto themselves for the fact that they need the base game in order to be played. This situation is no different. This is another situation where I don't really have a pony in the race. The biggest thing I was looking forward to this year was Soul Reaver 1 + 2 finally getting remastered, and there aren't many brand new big company name games that I was interested in besides that.

Another format for expansions that works well is an almost completely separate game that is not always even related to the base game. Look at Blue Shift or Opposing Force for Half Life, or in the case of unrelated expansions, Hordes of the Underdark or Shadows of Undrentide for Neverwinter Nights. The NWN expansions especially were great. None of those four expansions were actually add-ons for the base game at all. To be honest, I'm not even sure that you needed to own Half Life to play Bllue Shift or Opposing Force. I know Neverwineter Nights was definitely required for Hordes of the Underdark or Shadows of Undrentide, though. Also, Larian chose not to make expansions for BG3 because Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro where a nightmare to deal with. As for BioWare, the absolute mess they made of Veilguard does not give me high hopes for the next Mass Effect. It would be great if the got their shit together and made another great game, but at this point I'm not holding my breath. I would love to see more expansions for good games. The Outer Worlds had a couple of great expansions. Games like The Witcher 3 had good expansions. Cyberpunk 2077 was, I believe, originally supposed to get more than one expansion. Some companies still make them and it would be great if more did.

Enjoyable video but what on earth are you on about? While I much prefer COD myself, the entire premise of this video is wrong since Counter Strike has been way more relevant than COD ever since CS:GO started dominating the competitive scene post BO2. Hell, I'd argue Black Ops 2 was the last time COD even had a chance to compete,tge COD IP hasn't been the king for 12 years at this point. For the record, I'm not a CS fan at all, just struggling to make sense of this video. Maybe it's different in the US or something but I literally don't even know a single person IRL who still plays COD regularly in my entire social circle other than me, much to my dismay... Yet there's always multiple people playing CS whenever I boot up discord or steam. Alas, nice content regardless my dude!

You're 100% right with the nostalgia comments. That's why it took me so long to quit COD, which wasn't an easy choice. I was pro comp and working my way up the ladder, all my friends only played COD, it was the only game I'd play for almost 3 years due to being comp in it, hell, I even met my husband playing COD Ghost. But then it hit me, why? Why am I still playing it? They aren't listening to fans, hackers are taking over (it was right before WZ2 when I quit), I'm not having fun anymore and I'm always so mad. So...I quit. Realized I was only playing it because it was what all my friends were playing and for nostalgia. That wasn't a good enough reason to keep playing a game that just made me so frustrated all the time. One of the best choices I've ever made. I'm kind of sad about XDefiant going down. The few times we played together, I actually enjoyed it. It was the first comp game in 4 years that didn't make me so freaking mad while playing it. Somehow I was able to flip that switch in my brain (most of the time) with XDefiant and couldn't with others. Looks like I'll just keep sticking with my survival games. Great video, friend. very well said, i've noticed a pattern with these "game killers" they just end up killing themselves, a prime example i can think of is Anthem, the so called "destiny killler" except the difference is was Anthem was a shell of what destiny is, anthem had no endgame, no real loot pool and no real replayablity and i'll admit that game's failure hurt

Honestly.... kinda forgot Xbox announced a handheld lol It's been so long. I remember Sony's because to me it looked kinda ridiculous. I remember sitting on the couch with husband and we both audibly sighed when we saw that they were coming out with a handheld. (Although I will say it looks more comfy to hold than other handhelds)

this could be an unpopular opinion but i think handheld consoles are slowly moving out of the realm lf relevency and popularity, i just think the most mainstream consoles will be the way forward, again another unpopular opinion but i think as soon as handhelds come out to be as powerful as the most high end gaming PC then sure it could be something in the overall gaming sphere i have an asus rog ally- while being on par with mid-tear gaming rigs i think it could may well be the first step into broader and powerful handhelds but the ally isnt really anything groundbreaking (i still love the thing) side note: the Ps Portal is not... portal-able (lol) its just a cloud streaming vehicle

Valve set the bar pretty high with the steam deck. I just don’t think sony can deliver. Plus most ps5 exclusives are on PC now so I can play them on my steam deck.

The only way I'd consider buying a new PlayStation handheld is if it offers more than just the ability to play PS4/PS5 games. It needs its own library of games designed specifically to take advantage of the handheld's unique features. For example, the device should utilize movement sensors, touch displays, or other features that aren't easily implemented on a traditional console. If the exclusives feel like they could just as easily exist on a PS5, then I wouldn't see much value in the handheld. In that case, I might as well wait for an emulator, compatibility layer, or an official port to a more versatile platform like the Steam Deck. Another important factor is backward compatibility. If the handheld can't run PSP or PS Vita games, that would be a significant downside. Those systems had a great library, and not supporting them would feel like a missed opportunity.
