I live in small Singapore and explore big World
An Intense Day Inside the OLDEST RAINFOREST with Ancient Tribes: TAMAN NEGARA (Pahang, Malaysia)
Not everyone knows that Peninsular Malaysia is home to one of the oldest rainforests in the world - Taman Negara (or National Park in Malay), at 130 million (!) years old. WIthin just 3 hours by car from bustling Kuala Lumpur! This pristine and biodiverse UNESCO World Heritage site in Pahang state, believed to be inhabited by Malayan tigers, Malayan tapirs, Asian elephants, and even a small population of Northern Sumatran rhinoceros, had been on my bucket list for many years. Finally, I managed to explore it, if only for a day.
I began my day in the gateway town of Kuala Tahan, which is smaller than the average shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur, just across the Tembeling River from the park. Following an intense 1-hour hike to Bukit Teresek (Teresek Hill), which overlooks the highest mountain in Western Malaysia, Gunung Tahan (Mount Tahan) at 2,187 meters, I explored the world's longest suspension bridge, spanning 540 meters.
From there, I took a small boat ride to meet the indigenous Batek tribe, an Orang Asli people famous for their nomadic culture and hunting skills, as well as their use of technologies such as mobile phones and solar panels.
After sunset, I jumped back into the rainforest to witness wildlife emerging from the jungle. It was a thrilling and somewhat scary experience!

Surrounding Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is Selangor - the most populous and wealthiest state in the country. Having visited almost every state, I realized I had never been to Selangor before and hadn't heard of any attractions there. So, it was time to explore, starting with the former capital of the Sultanate - Kuala Selangor, which was once under British and Dutch control. On the w...
Where I FOUND PEACE This Day on Busy HONG KONG ISLAND (Béthanie, Aberdeen, Repulse Bay, Stanley)

The idea to escape from the bustling heart of Hong Kong Island came to me after spending two days there. Early in the morning, I headed south to Aberdeen, a quiet fishing village. Along the way, Béthanie, a Paris Foreign Mission Society sanatorium and dairy farm, caught my attention - it turned out to be a great stop exploring 150 years of legacy! After exploring Aberdeen and taking a boat ride...

On my last day in The Philippines on this trip I wanted to make the most of my time in this beautiful country. And early in the morning I boarded a ferry from Cebu City to Tagbilaran, well-prepared to explore the unique island of Bohol in the Central Visayas region. Within just 9 hours I’ve learned more about Spanish colonization history of The Philippines, which began here, where Spanish Capit...

How long is 2 days? What can you experience within such a short period of traveling to make lifelong memories? The answer is here, in Cebu Island, The Philippines! I spent 2 short days exploring the southern part of a long, jigsaw-looking island in Central Visayas. For a sunrise it was a good idea to go as early as possible to Osmeña Peak, the highest point on the island at 1,013 meters. It is ...

During my 3 days journey to the largest caldera lake in the world, Lake Toba, I’ve visited Berastagi (or Brastagi), Sinabung Volcano (Gunung Sinabung), and Sipiso-piso Waterfall, where dominant Karo Batak ethnic group dotted the landscape with Christian churches and unique restaurants with pork-based food. Welcome to the most scenic valley in Oman! Wadi Shab is not only a hiking paradise, but it also has very well hidden gems, which require a challenging swim to get to: a cave and a waterfall. This area between Muscat and Sur also has many paradise beaches, like White Sand Beach, which I’ve visited along the way. At the end of the day I descended into a massive Bimmah Sinkhole, which nobody knows...

Just an hour drive west there is the largest mountain of Oman - Jebel Shams, which I reached by a car and admir...
Portuguese Arabia and Special Charm of Oman - A Day Exploring Muscat

Did you know that Muscat, Oman was occupied by the Portuguese, who sought to control strategic maritime routes in the Indian Ocean in the 16th century? I’m starting my day exploring the capital of Oman right from the main Portuguese ladmarks from those times - Al Jalali and Al Mirani Forts, built in 1586 and 1587 respectively. Right in-between them is Al Alam, used by Sultan Qaboos bin Said as ...

For fiji as a Country ......yes Lautoka is the 2nd largest city
The taxi prices are so inflated. Maybe because you are a tourist. General advice try using the apps it should be better.
The city is expensive in the first place, but also because I'm a tourist. Couldn't use taxi apps as my foreign phone number number received a verification message :(

Thank you! The boat transfer is included in the hotel price, which was around $200 a night. But if you're talking about small boat to north of Atauro - it was $70 😅
Wild animal in Malaysia mostly active in early morning and late everning. Maybe because hot and humid.

Welcome to Malaysia national park aka Taman Negara 🇲🇾. It is very hot n dry season this year (el nino) even the river become shallow..if you love wildlife recommend visiting Kuala Gandah elephant sanctuary only 2,3 hours from KL 👌

Glad you get to enjoy the rainforest. Daintree australia - 180m years Borneo low land - 140m years Peninsula - 130m years Amazon 55m years. We can safely say, for a tropical country, malaysia has the oldest tropical rainforest in the world.
True! Not a big difference between 180M years and 130M years - it's still in MILLION of years old.
Orang asli is the original people in peninsula. In borneo, there is the pribumi like dayak, kadazan dusun etc etc.

Hi Andrew, 1. which travel agent that you booked for your sky mirror 🪞 tour? 2. How did you get around Sekinchan? Did you use grab to move around?
Hi Sahiful, 1. I went with "Sky Mirror Fun Life" agency, they seem to be the best there, based on the rating and price; 2. By own car. I guess Grab situation is not good in that paddy field area since it's so spread out, so it might be troublesome to get around there without own car...

In 2026-2027 there will be semi-speed train station (ECRL train) not far from jetty-to-Perhentians. Locals & travellers directly from capital of Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) surely can utilise this mode of transportation.
Thanks for sharing, good news indeed! Will definitely consider visiting the islands again then.
tq for the nice video👍. will visit!

Yes.... definitely....it should be known as eagle seeing...not eagle feeding....😊
Too bad you had a bad weather at the sky mirror.,...it would have been much better on a sunny day...
Probably. Cloudy day was also good, as the color of the sea and the sky looked the same, removing the horizon line completely 😄
The museum should not kick out visitors at malawati Hill. Just rotate the work shift. No one kicks out visitors in a museum during lunch time.
It seems like it was a shortage of stuff that day. Google and reviews doesn’t mention any lunch break. I guess I was just a bit unlucky that day 😅

i think your information about Malaysia rice production is wrong.. the biggest rice producer is Kedah state up north.. not Selangor..
Thank you for correction and information, good to know 🙏 Had to research on it more.
Yes it is still Kedah, contributes 70% of the country’s rice production.
