    I am a BYU fan, and I agree that Baylor is better than BYU. The reason being they played BYU to a stamate, and they are missing a couple of good players due to injury. Byu will continue to improve due to a new coach and a couple of freshmen players. It's the same thing with Baylor. The other teams I don't know about. Maybe you can fill me in.

    Power rankings are spot on at least top 5 right now... KU not a contender for the Big 12 Championship... I think it is down to Houston and Iowa State at this point, unless there is an injury or breakdown issue then Tech and Zona could compete. I don't agree there were a lack of fouls of the KU /UCF end of game, it was tight but I think the refs made all the right calls - but one could have said USF deserved to win that game if they also are arguing KU deserved to win against Houston.

    I disagree on the KU take - they are talented, but they are inconsistent, and the inconsistency is primarily due to a lack of effort and energy … usually it comes down to a lack of effort to put two quality halves together .... found this in the Missouri Game, and Houston Game, and KSU game, in particular. The only one they had it both if for sure the season was the first game against USF. Are they the best? No you need talent and effort to be the best win a lot of games, and also for the team to click to a certain extent. Those are the best teams (Houston, ISU). KU has one of those 3 right now (talent). The teams at the top of the conference have a combination of all 3.

    • @Big12Insiders
      @Big12Insiders День тому

      I never said they weren't talented. I said they are not as talented as they usually are. How many lottery picks do you see out there? How draft picks in general? I agree on the effort. When you're not as talented, if you don't bring consistent effort ,you lose games. When you have extreme talent like they usually have, even when you don't bring it every night, you can still win games. That to me is the difference.

    Bidunga is huge for KU... I don't think starting is as important as getting more minutes (at least 25 I think are warranted moving forward every game). If KJ comes back he may start but I think Self would be foolish to not give more of KJ's (and Hunters?) minutes to Flory. Unsure how a Flory/KJ looks works over multiple games and as a consistent lineup- but looked good and worked in the close out against Duke.... and Flory showed in the Houston game he can score. That has always been the argument against reducing Hunter's time ... who is gonna score? Well - Flory. Houston doubled Hunter the 2nd half, and Flory got those points. I could see the same system working with Adams/Bidunga.

    • @jbrock8596
      @jbrock8596 2 дні тому

      Losing Bidunga cost KU the game vs Houston. Ok yeah, the Jayhawks still could have salvaged the win by just making one or two plays down the stretch but Bidunga was playing well and the two bigs together were effective vs the H Cougars. In my opinion KU would have probably won the game had Bidunga not fouled out.

    There were no close games except KU vs Houston. This is not like last year at all, with most games decided by a few games. There's a clear pecking order. Houston best, ISU clear second, Arizona 3rd, a group of middle teams which can beat all but the top 3, and 4 really sad teams.

    Love Houston flying under everyone’s radar after the November losses instead of being ranked #1 at this point like the last 2 years. Sampson’s teams always get better, especially with the new point guard figuring it out and this may be the best most connected defense in 5 years. Next 3 games will tell the story. Always tough to win at AFH against the ghosts and the refs tho.

    Gotta disagree with you Big B that Houston "has not been tested." Would you say going down to the wire against the current No. 1 and No. 4 teams in the nation equals a little bit of a test? Yes, Houston lost both of those games, but let's look a little closer: In the Auburn game, second game of the season played in Houston but not on UH's home court, Houston's starting center, JaVier Francis, coming back a little too early from an injury, only played the first 9 minutes, then he was out for the rest of the game. Also in the first half, Houston's leading scorer, LJ Cryer, got two (ticky-tack) fouls early and sat out the rest of the half. In the second half, Houston's other two bigs were also battling foul trouble, both with four fouls and having to play a little softer down the critical stretch. At that stage in the season, UH was still working in newcomer point-guard Milos Uzan, who also got in foul trouble and sat out much of the second half. Still, with all this diversity - and with Auburn's freshman guard Pettiford shooting lights-out, Houston LED the game with two minutes to go. Down by one with 49 seconds to play, Milos fouled out of the game, and the last four points by Auburn, to win by five, were free-throws. The Alabama game was played in the Players Era tourney in Las Vegas. This game was even closer. In fact, if Houston had made one more free-throw with 39 seconds to go, or LJ had made a close-in two with 2 seconds to go in regulation and the game tied, it is doubtful Alabama would have been able to send the game into overtime, where the Crimson Tide won the game. So Houston is just a scant few plays away from having wins over two of the Top Four teams in the nation currently. The Cougars have been tested alright, and they are much better now than they were early in the season when those games took place.

    • @jbrock8596

      Champions make those scant plays. H Cougars don't have single Quad 1 win yet. NONE! Easy schedule so far with just three Quad 1 games, fewest so far in the Big XII, and H Cougars botched them all.

      @@jbrock8596 The issue was whether Houston has been "tested" this year. Coming up just short, very early in the season, against two of the Top Four teams in the nation shows Houston can compete with the best. Rather have no Q1 wins so far (they are coming) than having been run out of someone's gym like, ahem...

    UH at KU should be a really good game. As for Utah, I was going to roast you because I don't think Utah is a very good team at all but you are right it looks like after this Baylor game that there are some very winnable games coming and they could put together a decent record. But every conference loss so far for Utah has been by at least 23 points and they almost got doubled up by Houston. They are bums. I agree big game for both ASU and ISU, Cyclones need to make a couple statements in that game. Hopefully Lipsey can keep playing, he injured his thumb against WVU and but he hasn't missed any time yet.

    So once we get the “Employee “ status for the players for pay to play, will that destroy the portal? Also when they sign a contract can they be traded?

    To early to tell, but even though we won I think TT is a team built for the long haul. We still have a tough Sat., Mon. road trip in Arizona schools, & road trip to Houston. IMOA this will determine the conference.

    WVU fans point out that most of their players are suffering from the flu bug. I think the team showed signs of a hangover. I also give credit to Coach Hurley for putting together a good game plan to neutralize Javon Smalls and his team executed that plan very well. Let's see how they rebound in Manhattan on Saturday and then Houston at home.

    Even better. No money lost and none gained. Move on to the next one. This should never have been an issue. There are more players out there that would love to play for Wisconsin. Go get one.

    Win at home….sneak by a couple on the road ….get in the top 4… don’t get injured….and you have a good chance of getting in the Elite 8! The rest is just a crap shoot….they are all great teams…..then defense and free throws and depth take over!…Lastly, a little LUCK!

    This is not the NCAA’s fault. They get sued at every turn. It costs money to fight a lawsuit

      The NCAA caused this by not having make sense rules. Greed was all they cared about and it's coming back to bite them.

      @@Big12InsidersBoth the NCAA and those in the SEC that destroyed the NCAA are pretty equally at fault. Those who sued the NCAA into oblivion damaged the sport just as much as the outdated NCAA did.

    Yes tampering happens but to quote A Few Good Men “It doesn’t matter what I think, it matters what I can prove.” No school will never prove it on another because both have broken so many rules that neither want to go to discovery.

      How is Wisconsin for hypothetical example tampering with a Missouri player relevant in a lawsuit of Wisconsin suing Miami? And Pete Thamel reported five days ago that UW-Madison issued a statement in which they directly accused Miami of tampering with the Badger player. It doesn't sound like Wisconsin is afraid of bringing things into the open or to go to discovery.

      This is a very interesting situation that deserves much conversation. Let's put the shoe on the other foot for a second. Let's say he stayed at Wisconsin plays and then Wisconsin says "Hey we are going to pay you because the revenue sharing wasn't in place when you signed the contract. Also, you keep saying this kid was miserable. Based on what? Because another program waived a pile of money in his face. If he was so miserable why would he sign an any type of agreement? Was there tampering? I can't imagine that this occurred without it. Are there rules in the NCAA against tampering? Yes, there are. So what rules get enforced and which ones don't? I also believe that Wisconsin had some NIL money at play. Does that change the legal ramifications? I believe the NCAA is done. They have not put any structure in place, and if they aren't putting any structure in place, then what purpose do they serve? It's a mess. It's mass chaos. I believe the major conferences are going to kick the NCAA to the curb and introduce rules and regulations that the conferences will enforce.

  • @kenneaderhiser7768
    @kenneaderhiser7768 6 днів тому

    NCAA can’t enforce common sense NIL rules because those rules needs be collectively bargained. Also the members voted to have an honor system, don’t have to participate in investigations and enforcement arm can’t subpoena anything. They literally have to have the money fall out of the envelope. That is why the rule book is so big and no it can’t be smaller because they can’t enforce those. They can see the candy, there is proof. You are being a tool for the schools by constantly saying The NCAA. The next governing body will have the same problem if the members decide to not allow enforcement

  • @richardkozlowski6185

    This should not be a problem. He has a contract but he wants out. He breaches the contract so it’s null and void. Move on, simple. The consequences for him is he looses all his money.
