I liked Undertale theme in the background

i wanted to play this game for the combat (not like it has much depth) but this game tries so hard to give you everything BUT that. nothing but slog. TV time all the time. cutscene into comic book combos. un fucking bearable.

tbh the tv system is sooomeeetimeesss a little bit annoying but in total, i really think its fun and it adds something to the game i never saw before but yeah, the tv system is sometimes just too much and the combat is kinda short but i love me game after all! :3

I think another thing about paimon is that she doesn’t go through any character development and just became her core traits. Take for example Morgana from persona 5. We often get told things, and are guided by morgana throughout the majority of persons 5 but he doesn’t intersect with any other story usually. When a story is happening in a social link, morgana is often silent unless he wants to comment on something in specific. Morgana even has his own character arc, his own use as a playable character, a dynamic between joker and himself as the most experienced person in the group, and teaches him how to make infiltration tools, guided him to see the doctors office, taught him the core mechanics of the game and has very important story significance. Paimon as a character is a waste of space. Paimon doesn’t do anything. Paimon guides you to a statue of the seven like the player wouldn’t automatically run up to the glowing red statue in the first place. Paimon doesn’t have any meaningful relationships, paimon often tells the traveler how to feel. You can listen to morgana at times or outright ignore him for example in shadow interrogations he can tell you how the shadow acts but even if you don’t get anything the choice is there to just be an ass to the shadows. With paimon her word is law and the traveler can’t say anything against her. Any info from morgana we get is new info unless you already know what’s coming, paimon will slowly say something that was just told to us. They push her as a guide but what does she guide us on? In persona 4 this time there’s a character known as teddie. He’s often regarded as one of the worst guides and characters in all of persona, but the reason he works better than paimon because he is mysterious and we don’t know what he is, and he ends up getting replaced by midway through the game. He often only speaking one or two sentences in huge scenes and you can replace him from your party if you want. Sure his social link is a thing but even then he’s often only around much when the comedic scenes are being played. Paimon does have that mystery. They try to have that mystery but they never ever call attention to it ever. There’s also the fact that morgana, and teddie work in their games because they’re fit into the theme of the game which is usually based of a core theme, in persona 4 it’s all about the lasting bonds we make, in persona 5 it’s all about rebellion. Paimon doesn’t work because she’s put in scenes that she just shouldn’t have much of a presence in. I get that teddie has those too and I can’t stand him but at least he wasn’t paimon who genshin wants to say was idly standing right next to traveler when he was fight childe, azdaha, dvalin, signora, raiden , arrlechino, etc etc

I'm late, still most of the times hoyo is so disprectful with other cultures, aside the fact that they don't even try to make a character black, the darkest is GREY, there's so much unneeded sexualization (obv for marketing) which can be so disisprectul in every game, but obviously places like Liyue in Genshin or the Xianzhou in Hsr they try to make the characters MORE covered than the ones of other cultures. Hoyo has such potential but they waste it, and people in the community are so easily brainwashed and change their mind so quickly, an Example is recently when Da Wei cried on stage for the feedbacks that could make players world wide more content with the game.

At the end of the day, genshin is colorist, thats it. Fighting for the game to change will just stress you out more. I quit playing a while ago because the designs of characters just became unappealing to me, and when speaking out about this, a bunch of fans who will support every decision hoyo makes, whether good or bad, will come after you. Thats just how it is, at the end of the day, the only thing global about genshin is the fact that it could be played globally, they don't care about anyone else other than east asian players, mainly the chinese. If you dont like the game, you should just quit it, makes you a lot happier.
