Thanks so much, this video was awesome and brought back memories of my visit to Dunedin long ago. I loved Dunedin and considered it by far my favourite NZ city. Good that you've done an episode on Dunedin and been comprehensive in the places you've filmed and the information given. It must have taken a fair amount of time to get to all these places and also gather all the information. Good also that along with the damp days you filmed on clearer days to show the city in a different light. I wonder if you'll ever get into short interviews with interesting people in future episodes?

Sadly, Kaka Point is one of the most unwelcoming anti-motor caravan areas around Otago, they do not want you or any freedom campers, so don't spend any money there. The amateurish unlabelled signs, are put up by Clutha District Council (unlabelled, so the CDC can save face, as being anti-motor homes/vans/caravans), careful they have a patrol person who will issue fines. They say it is "to protect Kaka Point locals/residents...!!", they must be so precious! The 'Owaka 4Square Store' is really brilliant for any grocery, vege, liquor & bakery supplies. Surprised you jumped past: Nuggets Lighthouse & Walk, Cannibal Bay, Pounawea, Surat, free camping Catlins Boating Club, Hinahina, Jacks Bay & Blowhole, Purakanui Bay (DOC), Purakanui Falls, Long Point... at the Northern Catlins (heaps of places inland too). @@hymertimesnz Niagara Falls show off the great Kiwi humour even way back then, the drop of the falls is about 20cm see below. Niagara Falls was named by a surveyor with an obvious sense of humour! The ironically named falls share little in resemblance with their gigantic cousin the Niagara Falls on the border of the USA and Canada, in fact, they are probably one of the smallest falls in the Catlins. However, situated just off of a main road, they are easily accessible and perfect for scenic photos and a breath of fresh air. Another good episode. When we stopped in reefton it was rainy and foggy and a very eery feeling stayed at the race course. The strand looked very tight for caravans

Thanks. Racecourse is a great spot too. Had a racing event on when we were there so was not an option. You could squeeze a caravan in at the end in the off season but wouldn't try in the height of summer.

One of our favourite beaches in Abel Tasman. Took my trailer yacht in there once.

We were in the area mid-January it was mental, so many people. We enjoyed the Motueka river for swimming and some quieter camping. Lovely area though

Yes, I remember that vid. Your kids are keen on swimming. Such a fun way to entertain family. Just drove through Colac Bay, stopped Monkey Island. Grass area where you parked is now very boggy. Enjoying your vids, nice work! keep it up.

End of Feb, just catching up on film archives now as heading Lower South Island next and want to be up to date if I can. The scooter is called a Road Runner by Emove. Suppied by Stormrides in Auckland. There is a pro version out now but they are getting more like a motorbike and double the cost

Well such a good episode. My favourite scenes: Amanada on her electric bike, shot from the drone; one of the drone shots of the camp; and Benny, through the wide angle lens. The Google Earth footage adds to the flow of the story and there is a real sense of the motor home life...of course the beautiful land and water couldn't be a better place to immerse yourselves into to make something of a wonderland story.

Yes, the drone is a nice addition. Luckily no airports, heli landing points in area so could get some great shots of Marahau. No drones over DOC land unfortunately but all still a learning process for me. Such a beautiful place, although quite a busy town getting people on and off Abel Tasman track. Thanks so much for your feedback.

Yes, you are hopefully correct. Fun hobby while on the road anyway, Amanda knits wool while I knit a video. Hopefully other viewers that can, or cannot travel, will get some enjoyment from watching them as well.

I was lucky enough to have Fleur as the owner and cook of where I stayed in Clyde, Dunstan House and also had one meal at Fleur's Place, have they repaired the road into and out of Moeraki.

Road is not repaired yet. I went to restaurant in Clyde when I was a young lad. First time I had flowers in my meal. Was flash as!

@@hymertimesnz The dam wasn't finished when I was at Clyde, the new Railway yard was close to being finished, Fleur ran Dunstan House a private hotel and had just opened Oliver's just across the road, my nightly meals were far above most other place's I stayed in.
