Owaka golf club is a nice spot to stay, looks out over the golf course $10.00 per night, rubbish recycling and toilets.

Great when there is a choice of spots to stay. We have stayed at the Hina Hina yacht club a few times too.

love it out at the Catlins, a step back in time, we've only had good weather days there though.

The sun didn't stay )-: Filming between rain showers is no fun!

Sadly, Kaka Point is one of the most unwelcoming anti-motor caravan areas around Otago, they do not want you or any freedom campers, so don't spend any money there. The amateurish unlabelled signs, are put up by Clutha District Council (unlabelled, so the CDC can save face, as being anti-motor homes/vans/caravans), careful they have a patrol person who will issue fines. They say it is "to protect Kaka Point locals/residents...!!", they must be so precious! The 'Owaka 4Square Store' is really brilliant for any grocery, vege, liquor & bakery supplies. Surprised you jumped past: Nuggets Lighthouse & Walk, Cannibal Bay, Pounawea, Surat, free camping Catlins Boating Club, Hinahina, Jacks Bay & Blowhole, Purakanui Bay (DOC), Purakanui Falls, Long Point... at the Northern Catlins (heaps of places inland too). Happy travels. Take care & stay safe. 💜💜

@@XavierRadić_NZL Thanks. Yes I have met the officer there once too. Such a small community down that way and heaps of summer tourists in campers/cars. Stayed at Hinahina a few times. Have been all these places you mentioned over the years but passed through quickly to keep up with my friend's schedule as they needed to cover distance. Rain started to come horizontally by the time we reached Invercargill. Never much fun but later in the trip the sun comes back out so plenty of enjoyable footage to come. Thanks for watching. Russell
