    Blackstone stated not significant contamination. With that said, will you extend your next transmission fluid drain past ~50k miles?

    • @antigroundhogday
      @antigroundhogday 2 дні тому

      Actually, reading the Blackstone comments, they don't think this was the factory fill, so the results of this particular fluid analysis are associated with an unknown drail interval. So what drain interval do you recommend for the Mirage?

    • @welfarewagonrepairs
      @welfarewagonrepairs 2 дні тому

      At the rate I drive I might never replace the fluid again. The paper filter is similar to what you get with an oil filter. If I loved the car I would at least change the paper filter every couple of years.

    My unit has been working fine for a few years until today when I accidentally started the descaling procedure without the tank attached. Thanks to this video I was able to reset the thermal switch with only a couple broken clips lol. Keurig could have so simply added a hole/passageway on the side of the machine to allow for this reset without disassembly. Obviously having their customers “brick” their units so easily is better for shareholder…

    • @welfarewagonrepairs

      If you’ve already checked that the brush’s square end is in tact and it can be manually spun while installed it’s likely a stripped gear within the unit. I believe removing it should be straightforward, all you need to do is unscrew and remove the blower motor and the roller brush screws will be below it

      This is a 2015 mirage but all 2012-2025 mirages should be very similar. The bulb is a P21/5W. It’s named this because it’s a dual filament bulb, the 5 watt filament is the parking light and the 21 watt is the much brighter brake light.

      That is correct, you should fill it up to the F level. If the engine is cold, you can also open the radiator cap and make sure that it is full. But this is sort of optional as the engine should suck the coolant in from the overflow tank when it cools down from operating temperature.

    I would love to buy you a cup pof coffee. I am angree about ;lanned obsolence,, but maybe there is a reason for a thermal overload switch but why not make it accessable?

    • @welfarewagonrepairs
      @welfarewagonrepairs Місяць тому

      They make self resetting thermal overload switches that automatically reset after a few minutes. The manufacturer maybe concerned that the machine may have melted or been damaged in other ways such as a sticky heating element solenoid before the thermal fuse tripped so they may not want to be liable if you were to reset it, they also likely don’t want users to be stuck with a machine that has intermittent issues as that is a bad user experience. On the other hand the thermal fuse usually trips when the user does something they know may not be correct. In my case the water tank was removed while the machine was running making the user feel responsible for the failure.

    @charleshines5700 Місяць тому

    I would be likely to do the filter from the top. I see people with Toyotas and other Japanese vehicles having to take the wheel off to fill the CVT and other things. It just seems so absurd they would design them so you have to jump through these hoops! I had a 2013 Passat and I never had to deal with such absurd design with that! Many people make it sound like they are a money pit that only a dealer can work on and that is simply not 100% true. Sure not everyone can change everything in those out but these people make it sound like you have to hike through the mountains of Tibet to find a wise man to get anything done! What they don't realize is that all vehicles are like this now and some of them are worse even!!

  • @charleshines5700
    @charleshines5700 Місяць тому

    I am in that situation with my 2017 Rogue Sport SV. The transmission would cost as much as the vehicle is worth if it ever fails at this point. A lot of other vehicles from Jeep and Dodge had these CVTs and probably still come with them or some equally horrible one. The nice thing about these being found in a lot of vehicles is that they are not something that is horrible because of parts scarcity. If you are not afraid of aftermarket fluids there are plenty to choose from. Some of those are a lot cheaper than the stuff from some dealers too and it may be the same stuff with a different label since Idemitsu makes a lot of the fluids for these vehicles.

    From where do you get documents like the one you used at 10:00 ? I am new at doing repairs by myself but i want to do it more profesionally like you but i lack Documentation and very often i cant find parts for my car other than from shops like Autodoc and then they often dont have the parts i need ....

    do i need to do all those extra steps or can i just fill it up if it’s empty ?

      You can fill the radiator all the way up and the overflow tank to the high line whenever it’s empty. Remember to only open the radiator cap if the engine has not been started for a few hours (is cold). Opening the radiator cap to fill may only be necessary if the car ran out of coolant at some point.

    Thank you! This is what was wrong with my machine. So nice to fix it rather than toss out until it's really dead. One disassembled, so easy!
