Ali Zafar songs became "popular" because there was a Twitter push when every anthem dropped with comments like "no one can beat Ali Zafar" and then it became a thing. The Ali Zafar songs were never well received when they dropped. You can't make stadium anthem with Kishore Kumar lite.

My favorite Lahore Qalandars anthem trivia is that in Bol Qalandar, the first frame is shot in reverse (for no apparent reason). It is a bunch of people in a park, with a jogging track on all sides (the most Lahore thing ever), and the joggers are all jogging in reverse. I don't know why, but I love it.

My favourites are - khel deewano ka by fawad khan, cricket khidaiye by Atif and Faris Shafi and agay dekh by Atif and Aima Baig … really classy ones all of them and as a musician I look at them as my reference points for any such project I work on!

Very click-baity title I must say... ghanta bhar PSL ki chakh chakh. Two songs that I was hoping you would bring up - "Phir Aya Aya Ye, World Cup, World Cup" by the man the myth the legend Saleem Javed. And "Hum Jeetain Ge" by Khalid Waheed - both from 1996.

In 80s and 90s era, the biggest addition to test match bowling was reverse swing. Post 2010s, it's the wobble seam, more effective with the new ball and pitches with a bit of seam movement. Also, countries like NZ, Ind, Ban, even SL have developed great set of fast bowling stocks. These used to have one outlier bowler like Headley or Vaas or Srinath, now, they have got compete attacks. WTC means more result orriented pitches, these are the factors behind batting averages going down. Some are still doing great like Root, Jaiswal, Smith, Brook, Williamson averaging over 50. These are outliers, and are test batting greats or future greats.

Admittedly, I haven't listened to all the songs but my top three PSL songs would be: 1) Tayyar Hain 2) Khel Ke Ageh (Atif and Aima) 3) Khel Jamay Ga Ali just about makes my top three despite his annoying hate PR he did for the enjoyable Atif and Aima track

It takes two people to replace Osman bhai for a BF 😉 but good choices imo. Agreed with them about the bowling profligacy against tailenders who have improved admittedly but when it's costing you matches then theres an issue with the bowling and captaincy to look at.

Most of BGT matches did not last more than 4 days, South African matches were all 3 days long and they are playing the final and no one complained that there was no battle between bay vs. ball. But since no one know how to play spin they are complaining about spin on first day
