Osman, man the nuance with which you speak is really envious. You're really the first person I've come across to acknowledge the fact that the concerns for India are different from those of the other countries. For what it's worth, PCB has done well to hold it's ground to try and highlight ICC's ineffectiveness and BCCI's lack of any accountability in it's communications.
Not only ICC's ineffectiveness but the sheer volume with which the game has consolidated itself within the big 3 and then the big 1. Cricket is now and has been for a while, a ridiculous and a non-serious sport.
One difference: I think Shaheen does not want to play tests. Evidence: Only Naseem played Quade Adam trophy. Shaheen wants to preserve himself for the leagues
Shaheen despite his form should have not been dropped. He did really well in Australia and has developed an out swinger too. It would have been interesting to see how he fares in South Africa. If he is to be rested, it would have been better to rest him in series vs west indies at home in January in spin friendly pitches.
@MuhammadXayanAbid you can't say that bro. Even on multan road shaheen was the one who bowled really well. Numbers won't tell u this obviously you had to watch that boring match to see this. My point is if there's any place he could get his form back and be effective it was South Africa
@@Mehtab-Hassan well yeah, I do agree that African conditions would've suited him, but I think Champions Trophy is ahead and Aqib doesn't want to risk losing Shaheen because of almost an irrelevant test series - winning or losing doesn't do much for us, and Shaheen isn't in his peak fitness form yet, the pace isn't there, tho he's developing variance in his game, but right now he isn't a better test bowler than Mir Hamza or Khurram Shahzad imo... both even at below 130kmph are much much better than him, also they've good performances in Australia so they warrant their chances too. Shaheen should focus on fitness imo, and recover his pace, before his return to test cricket.
Honestly, I think this is a bad take. Yeah, the PCB has a history of mishandling fast bowlers, past, present, and hopefully not in the future. But completely letting Shaheen off the hook for how he’s been acting since the 2023 World Cup, that’s wild. When he’s been a big reason for some of our losses, especially in the Test series against Bangladesh. That’s why I actually respect the PCB for finally stepping up and making a bold move. It’s about time we focused on building our bench strength and thinking long-term for Pakistan instead of just relying on one player. Mark my words: Mir Hamza is going to do something amazing this series, just like he did in Melbourne which we honestly could’ve won that game if Abdullah Shafique hadn’t dropped those sitters!
Bhai what is the obsession with Babar playing in the test team? The guy got dropped and replaced by Pakistani batter from the domestic circuit who made a 100 on debut and turned the series around. Obsession with Babar or an obsession with loosing ?
This channel is basically turning into blame everything on administration while zero responsibility on the players. And that is only for a few players namely Babar , Rizwan , Shaheen Naseem. They should play without any performance because they are alleged "superstars". While Mir hamza Khurram shehzad and Kamran ghulam should just stop playing because they don't have the vibe.
I disagree, Shaheen has to take responsibility as well. He doesn’t play any first class games anymore where you hone your test bowling skills including stamina to maintain your pace. The reason Wasim and Waqar were so successful was because they would play a near entire season of county first class cricket. Nowadays our bowlers just bowl in t20 and maybe odis. The PCB should ask these bowlers to bowl in first class games to show they have the stamina to bowl in test cricket.
Osman is essentially asking whether anyone explained to Sajid why he was dropped. In Pakistan, especially in government organizations (and while the PCB is not technically a government body, it is heavily influenced by the government), individuals are rarely treated with basic humanity. This makes Osman’s point about hurting Sajid's feelings somewhat irrelevant, as decisions are usually dictated from higher authorities without any consideration or explanation. Hence, Pakistan cricket is where it is today. The whole country sometimes lacks basic humanity.
Now that his Test career could possibly be over, I almost feel as if Shaheen should just prepare himself to return to being a gun bowler in T20s and taking wickets in the first overs like he used to at his peak in 2021. Not sure he's fully enthused or conditioned for Test cricket sadly.
my sources within pcb have informed me that naqvi sb has agreed to handover Hafeez Saeed and Dawood Ibrahim to India in return of promise of triagular series. another big win for Pakistan! if he pull this off i support him jailing khan sb for 20 years.
I really enjoy Osman's takes and mostly I agree with them, but I think just blaming the board here will be in the wrong. As a player, you have to put your hand up once in a while and say that you need time off. Shaheen got injured in 2022 WC and still hasn't fully recovered. You cannot explain his inclusion at the moment if he is bowling at 130km/h. The treatments for knee/back injuries have evolved and an ACL injury is not considered career-ending anymore. If Shaheen wants to make a comeback , he needs to take stock of what he sees himself as in the future (T20 merchant or genuine Test bowler). He can stay relevant in PSL bowling medium pace but he needs to be around 140-145km/h consistently before he can make a comeback to National team. Not to invoke IK but him and Lillee and to an extent, Bumrah, took prolonged time off after their "career-ending" injuries and their peaks started afterwards.
Only Pakistani/urdu podcast I listen to and appreciate it. I don’t understand one thing. Why do you believe that Pakistan is owed a visit from India? Would Pakistan act differently if the shoe was on the other foot? I don’t get it. Hinduon se nafrat bhu karni hai aur phir bhikmungon ki tarhan unko bulana bhi hai. And litigation? I’m sure both of you remember when this was tried over a daft MOU and it just ended costing an insane amount of money in legal fees. I just don’t see on what grounds Pakistan or any single nation is owed anything by another when they don’t tour each other. And this is a very dangerous game they’re playing using Pak/Ind as leverage. Similar to ‘oh we’ve got a nuke, the west won’t let us disintegrate.’ India doesn’t need Pakistan, because a game every year or two still involves taking 37%(?) when they’ve got the IPL. And the world doesn’t need Pakistan either. And this isn’t a bed another country or another board has made for PAK/PCB. Also, is it possible to expel a member nation via a vote? If BCCI wanted to kick Pakistan out of international cricket, what would stop them? They don’t even need a gun. Just a finger gun a threat-demand cocktail would work.

Can u imagine the hit Pak cricket and world cricket would take if there is any incident if india comes to pak. 53:06 I think it's very naive of you to believe Naqvi in saying that India hasn't voiced its concerns over not visiting Pak. You can go back to as back as 2009 - until Pak stops harboring terrorists plotting attack on Indian soil India won't play bilaterals, allow Pak players in IPL and visit Pak.
This is not a bilateral series though and they make a fair point that if that’s the concern then why don’t they just refuse to play Pakistan in any format.
@momebatti we don't refuse because that's not how the world works - should we also not allow Pak delegates for international conferences then? foreign Ministers should also not interact? all past treaties should be null and void? realistically Pak should be relieved to not host India - the eyeballs and the risk an Indian team carries surely won't be good considering the internal atmosphere in Pak.
at 50:04 he said the stupidest thing - agar security issues hai toh match khelte hi kyu hai. bro Pak is definitely not safe for India to travel and if under its disguise BCCI/Indian Govt is driving the point of Pak State sponsored terrorism in India then so be it. don't think that if this goes to international court or anything then BJP will have to admit that the concerns were flagged at last minute to "derail" PCB/Pak - then ISI will also have to answer why Masood Azhar and JeM boys are free and on on state payroll. The only reason India won't allow this to go to these courts is because right now we have the upper hand on these negotiations and we plan on taking full advantage. You folks have normalized Pak Army sponsored groups killimg civilians in Pak - we haven't and the current hardline approach has been very successful.
