      Hi, thank you! I had to look this up, and Matprat.no (a reliable source) said that eggs can be stored in the kitchen counter up to a week. If you are uncertain if they are still good you can put them in a bowl of water, if it floats it has stated going bad, but can still be used in omelets. Norwegian hens are considered bacteria free, so you don’t need to worry about that. Hope you have a great time here!

    Quite a few things that were wrong in this video. Here are the most notable. 1:06 NorgesGruppen doesn't own Bunnpris. They own Kiwi, Nærbutikken, Meny, Spar/Eurospar, Joker, Gigaboks and Jacob's. Also 2:20, the most expensive Coop store is by far Coop Marked, not Coop Mega. Coop Marked is a store that's placed strategically in places where there is no other store nearby, because of this they can up charge the customers that do live near the store. Coop Mega on the other hand is Coops regular supermarket chain. While it is more expensive than Extra, shopping at Coop Mega would be the equivalent to shopping at Ica in Sweden, Sainsbury's in the UK or Edeka in Germany. (Grocery stores in Norway are quite bad, so if you are from other European countries you might be disappointed due to the lack of selection across the board😕) 7:18 This is not true for everywhere. By law, supermarkets are only allowed to sell alcohol from 08.00-18.00 on weekdays or from 08.00-15.00 on Saturdays. Only municipalities that have applied for an exemption to this law have it till 20.00 on weekdays and till 18.00 on Saturdays. In most municipalities the alcohol sale is from 09.00 in the morning, and in the capital Oslo the alcohol sale in supermarkets is from 09.00-20.00/09.00-18.00. 7.55 This is not true, there is no age limit for energy drinks in Norway. NorgesGruppen stores have a self imposed limit, but in all other stores there is no age limit. There has been a lot of debate whether an age limit should be imposed or not, but this has not yet come to fruition as of march 2024.

    • @NorwegianRoamer

      Hi Steffen! Thank you for watching my video! ◡̈ yes you are correct, there are a few slips, Bunnprus used to be in NorgesGruppen, but are not anymore. Coop market is a little like Joker won’t you say? But out of the more large stores mega is quite expensive. Very good point about the comparison of the other countries! Haha I’ve heard this too, especially that our fruits and vegetables are bad. It is true about the alcohol law, it change from municipalities to municipalities. Ah I see, it might give away that I worked at a NorgesGruppen store where we had age limit for energy drinks 😂 Thank you for your informative comment, I will leave a disclaimer in the description!

    • @steffen6987
      @steffen6987 2 місяці тому

      @@NorwegianRoamerYes, Coop Marked is very much like Joker. Grocery shopping is in my opinion the worst thing about Norway. People say we have few options in the store due to our small population, but this is so not true. In Finland they have a hypermarket chain called K-Citymarket, which literally has anything you can imagine a grocery store to have. And Finland has the same population as Norway :(

      It is the opening times so it often looks something like this - 7-23 (21) - 7-23 is from mon to fri and 21 is closing time on Saturday◡̈ But in rema1000 case in this video they have printed 7-23 (mon-fri) and under it say lør 7-23 witch means Saturday. And they have a Sunday (Søn) open part open which are highlighted in red

    Kristin Lauritzen Braend, your video on visiting Lofoten in December during the Polar Night is a great guide! Your balanced approach showcases both the beauty and challenges of this unique season, while I've googled a few more related topics, which you can share with all of your audience/viewers, such as: Visiting Lofoten, Norway in December can be a magical experience, but it's important to be prepared for the unique conditions of the region during that time of year. Here are some things to consider: Northern Lights: December is an excellent time to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in Lofoten. The long nights and relatively clear skies increase your chances of seeing this natural phenomenon. Be sure to check the forecast and consider joining a guided tour for the best viewing spots. Outdoor Activities: Despite the cold, Lofoten offers a range of outdoor activities in December. You can go hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, or even try your hand at ice fishing. Just make sure to plan your activities carefully and be mindful of the weather conditions. Limited Daylight: December in Lofoten means short days and long nights, with only a few hours of daylight. Keep this in mind when planning your activities and make the most of the daylight hours for outdoor adventures. Road Conditions: Be aware that road conditions in Lofoten can be challenging in December due to snow and ice. If you plan to rent a car, make sure it's equipped for winter driving and consider hiring a local guide familiar with the area's roads. Christmas Festivities: December is the month of Christmas, and Lofoten celebrates it in its unique way. You can experience traditional Norwegian Christmas markets, concerts, and other festive events. Limited Services: Since December is the off-peak season in Lofoten, some tourist services and accommodations may have reduced hours or be closed. It's a good idea to plan and book in advance. Overall, visiting Lofoten in December can be a magical experience, offering stunning natural beauty, unique winter activities, and the chance to witness the Northern Lights in all their glory. Just be prepared for the cold weather and short daylight hours, and you're sure to have an unforgettable trip. Thanks a lot, for sharing your video.
