Walmart in Palm Springs is now using COMPOSTABLE BAGS instead of plastic bags

It's January, 2025 and I'm happy to see that Walmart in Palm Springs is already using COMPOSTABLE bags in the produce section, instead of plastic bags. The California ban on plastic bags in grocery stores doesn't go into effect until 2026, so I glad to see that our Walmart in Palm Springs is ahead of the curve. Compostable bags are supposed to be much better than plastic bags for the environmen...
January, 2025 GAS PRICES in Palm Springs, CA!
Переглядів 1,8 тис.14 годин тому
It's January 23, 2025 and I just filled up my car with gas at our local Walmart in Palm Springs, CA. My Gas Buddy app said its the cheapest gas in Palm Springs today. The funny thing is, the filling station sign says one price, the app has another price and the pump is a different price. I paid $3.89 per gallon. Please feel free to share your local gas prices with me in the comments section.

While filling up with gas at our local Walmart gas station, I happened to notice an RV parked in the Walmart parking lot, that grabbed my attention. It turned out to belong to Tomasz Sobania, aka The Polish Forrest Gump, who is currently running from New York to Los Angeles. I haven't heard anything about his run on our local news stations, but it appears that he and/or his team have made a pit...

GRAFFITI in Palm Springs?
Переглядів 1,7 тис.21 годину тому
The city of Palm Springs, California has a Graffiti HOTLINE where anyone can call to have graffiti removed immediately. That's why graffiti rarely lasts anywhere in the city for more than an hour or two. The exception is Graffiti Park, downtown, in front of the art museum, where the city allows and even encourages graffiti artists to express themselves. Today's video is a walk around this park ...

It's the third week of 2025 and my total came to $80.38, shopping at Walmart in Palm Springs. This week I checked out the prices of items that I rarely, if ever, buy. I know they are a staple of most buyer's groceries each week, though. We are lucky to be able to save by not buying these items. Historic Palm Springs RUINS have been TRASHED!
Переглядів 4 тис.14 днів тому
Just blocks from downtown Palm Springs are the ruins of a home that was built built in the 1920. Today, it's surrounded by million-dollar estates. It's called the Field Cabin Ruins and the city has designated it an historic Palm Springs Site. Unfortunately, it looks as if it is being used by homeless, who are trashing it. I hope the city is able to do something to better preserve this 100-year ...

Too hot to live there for me, and every thing is over priced. But thanks for info. I am waiting for friends to return from visit that purchased a place to fill me in before I go out for a visit.
Thank you, Steve for your walking tour of Sunrise Park. I live nearby and never been! Seems to have "cleaned up" abit of late including the Ralph's parking lot across the street, much safer with increased security. As we age, safety becomes more in the limelight.
You should get some of your stuff at Aldi instead of Walmart.
I applaud you on how well you document your grocery shopping 🛒. I usually shop about every ten days. I don't always go to the same place. I split it between three different stores. A different one each time because each one carries different products I use.
What is this obsession with the price of eggs we seem to have in this country! Eggs! Eggs! Eggs! Toilet paper! Eggs! Eggs! I wonder what is considered the barometer of food prices in other countries? Maybe in Russia they keep asking what the price of vodka is every week? Maybe in Spain it’s the price of pork? I just find it interesting.
I have been there!!! That exact same one
Angelina looks like a bombshell with blonde hair.
1) I wouldn't shop at Walmart if my life depended on it. 2) Natural Light? That simply is NOT beer. "Life is too short to drink cheap beer", and 3) eggs were $3.49 doz. at Trader Joe's in Cat City 1/21/2025, up from $2.99 a month before. I simply wouldn't pay $8 if I never had another egg in my life. And BTW .... I too am a "mature" gay man living in PS. 😇
I enjoy seeing what you and Jim spend on groceries. Mine goes up and down too. I had to double up on grocery purchases in December because my truck was in the repair shop and my neighbor was nice enough to take me to the store. Prices just seem so high everywhere. Thank you doing these videos. You and Jim take care.
I've noticed too that alcohol hasn't changed too too much. Eggs are 9ne of the bad ones, at least here, BUT I'm lucky in that we have a friend with chickens and just today they sent me home with 3 dozen for free
Dear Steve..because of your advice...every senior should start a UA-cam channel, I am going to do just that. Getting my nerve up to launch it here soon, with the title of, "Brian On My Second Life", which is a reference to me surviving a cardiac arrest last February 26th, 2024 and what my life has been like since. I'll throw in some of my art work and art projects along the way as well. But...thank you for the inspiration. Now, if I could only move P.S. sometime soon and sell my art at Village Fest. I love that weekly event. I met so many wonderful people there this past December. Thanks! I'll let you know when I post my first video. Brian
Thanks, Brian! That's awesome. I can’t wait to watch your channel once you start posting! 😄👍
Mr. Steve, that was fun, and thanks for sharing 👍🏼 ❤🎉
Tomorrow February 1st, 2025. A 25% tariff on goods coming from Mexico and Canada. For MAGA enjoy the higher prices and for American exporters, hope you suffer the consequences. If people think that higher prices will be just for imported goods, think again as retailers will use the tariffs to start raising prices across the board. This is what America voted for and this is what America will get.
I do computer shopping at Walmart. Eggs were about 4.50 a dozen. Had 1 egg, a couple pieces of bacon and a generic English muffin for supper. Pretty cheap. Very happy that I am an older lady who doesn’t eat big meals and likes cheap foods. And no, I am not unhealthy. Perfect bloodwork every time. Borderline diabetes for 25 years which is well controlled even with a small daily treat. This week at Walmart some things had come down in price but don’t expect that to last.
Steve i love the way you and Jim document your weekly purchases now i circle back and check my own purchases 😂
Thanks John, glad you are doing it too! 😄👍
Always love your videos.
Hi Steve! You can spend a $100.00 in one shopping trip ! Pasture raised eggs are the most expensive!! Great video!
We don’t keep tabs on the groceries we buy. We buy what we want. If it’s too expensive we just don’t buy it. Your the only person I know of that saves grocery receipts from passed years.
:-)
Why do I suddenly want food?
LOL :-)
25 years for us and everything that is his is mine and everything that is mine is his. Matt has always handled the vast majority of our bill-paying. He also still prefers writing checks. Always enjoy your "calming" uploads. They're a nice respite in an oftentimes chaotic world. ❤
Haha, we know we’re old when we’re discussing in detail our grocery bills! 😅 but I relate, definitely watch prices. I shop at different stores depending on what I need- Walmart, Albertsons, sprouts and Trader Joe’s. Sometimes the dollar store. They all have their own bargains as well. 🛒 🥬 🥕 🌽
😆👍
Are u ever going to do where u show us what you buy anymore
I just did
Thanks again for sharing Steve ❤
Thanks for watching! 😄👍
Remember 18 million {laying hens} were destroyed in dec of '24...
Actually my grocery bill has gone down because I am not buying many things. No bacon and very little meat. I do eat a lot of eggs and I usually get them at a good price at Costco. I used to eat out 3 to 4 times a week and now I eat out 1 or 2 times a week and I am very frugal eating out. I can very well afford anything I want but I feel like I am being ripped off by corporate America. Hyper Inflation! It also helps keep my weight down and my blood pressure and cholesterol down.
I totally agree with you and B! At least there are some benefits to all this corporate greed! 🤪😂👍
The moron who occupies the White House is going to put a 25% tarrif on Mexico and Canada. And 10% on China tomorrow. Prices are about to get even higher. Luckily, most food products are made in the US. Some are not. People should prepare. If you need to buy something big, buy it immediately.
My friend bought a portable document scanner years ago to scan receipts into Excel spreadsheet. Have you considered this to track your spending?
True, comparing same purchases is helpful but in general it shows some increases for sure. I get similar or same things usually and while I don’t have the exact numbers it goes up and up.
I’m just so glad I don’t have young, hungry mouths to feed. Things have gotten so expensive here in New Zealand 🇳🇿🇳🇿
Eat poor quality food. It’s way cheaper!
I see these grocery shopping & cost videos as simply anecdotal fun. Let’s face it, our entire lives prices are always increasing with ebbs and flows, due to some sort of geopolitical/economic influence. I know there are people struggling to live within their income and circumstances; and consequently they have stress and anxiety. But perhaps videos like these can give perspective to cope with conditions. 🤞🏽
Things go up weekly here...hang on to your hat with eggs! What hurts is the main stay items for young families and retirees: bread, cereal, eggs, milk, fruit, veggies...not to mention protien items such as meat. We all can do without extras as need be like cookies, soda, beer, candy, etc but little people need decent meals to grow on and seniors need to keep healthy to survive. Now i heard bananas are going to spike. Really??? Apples and oranges are already outrageous. And to think todays prices will be the good old days prices all too soon. Good luck to us all...we're all in the same boat! 😢 waving, Steve. At least that's still free! 😂
Don’t tell anyone or they’ll start charging us to wave too lol! 😳😲😩🤪😄👋
One thing I like about Walmart is you can get eggs in a six pack. I don’t eat a lot of eggs so this works for me.
Great video series Steve! Everyone can relate to this--it's interesting to read the comments about the experiences of other viewers at the grocery stores in different states and countries.
I’m glad you are enjoying the series. 😄👍
Hey..drink beer get drunk..forget about it..next morning bad headache..can't eat....keep drinking....repeat......LoL..... Deborah 🇨🇦
Steve Always enjoy your videos. I don't know how to ask a generic question that has nothing to do with this particular video. I would like to see you do a video on the t. V shows you and jim watch, for example, I love watching the old t. V shows from the 60s and 70s. I don't watch many new shows. I'd be interested to see what type of television shows you enjoy Thanks
My daughter lives with me. We both eat the same things pretty much so we split that expense. Still expensive but it's easier on both of us to do it that way. 😊
I’m surprised Jim didn’t go since he likes games so much.
Hi Steve our prices in DC are about the same as yours in Palm Springs. Egg price increase is due to H5N1 (aviary flu) which killed many millions of hens. Sad but it does happen. Another great video say Hi to Jim we’ll see you on the next one!
That's interesting information. What were eggs 🥚 in 2023? Maybe you don't have time to look through the receipts? But some things are outrageous. Eggs is one of them. 😖
Great video
Good video you guys need to show your grocery items. Yes I got some bargains in my local market yesterday. Was glad for that. But I do shop around looking in other stores too. 🛒🛍️🌞🌴
Great video Steve! My 3 thoughts: • Everyone should be aware of prices and expenditures like you & Jim. 👍 • Sometimes “just having a beer” (or a beer & sandwich) near the pool in Palm Springs just hits-the-spot! • When there was less focus on egg prices I’d see fellow shoppers open a carton of eggs, take a quick glance at the eggs and go. Now, everyone seems to open the carton, take out each egg and inspect both sides to make absolute sure there are no cracked ones…at almost a dollar per egg I do too! 😂
Hi Steve! Are y'all able to grow vegetables in containers or have you tried?
Excellent Steve we enjoyed the video
Our egg prices in Indiana are outrageous close to 5.00 a dozen. I live alone so I buy a half dozen for 2.08, that is fine for me.
I can remember my mom taking out two quarters and telling me to get a dozen large eggs from local grocery, mom and pop type no big chains. I have not had and alcohol in 33+ years. I used to but miller lite 16oz cans. The cat food I buy for Tobey has gone up 64% at regular markets. I can get it down by buying from Amazon and other online retailers. I saw a package with 2 x 1lb steaks $46.00. Aldis bought out Winn Dixie stores and converting many to Aldi. The two nearest me are being converted. I dont know what to think never been an Aldis shopper. Do you pay 5 cents per bottle/can as a recycling fee? Being type 1 diabetic I pretty much eat same thing, same time every day. One every three months I slip and have a corn muffin. At dunkin donuts they have gone up in price AND gotten smaller. I really notice as I have them so infrequently. Great video! I got a 2007 Toyota yards in 2006. I have every gas receipt for that car, 19 years of receipts!
Hi Joe, thank you for sharing all of this with us. That’s amazing that you still have all of your gas receipts for 19 years lol! 😄👍
@ I'm good at saving junk. Not so good at getting rid of it
Oregon I outrageous. 7.95 for eighteen egg! Not fancy! Fred Meyer or Kroger! Do not go out! 😊
I've really been enjoying these videos your making, I guess the price of Eggs are what I've noticed around here are very high. at my Local Dollar General they are 8 dollars a dozen. God Bless and take care Steve. 😊
Thanks Shannon. Glad you like them! 😄👍
