40 grocery items for around $1 that you can still buy at Walmart in 2024
On my weekly grocery shopping trip to Walmart this week, in Palm Springs, California, I was surprised to find more than 40 food items that were still priced at around $1.
A year from now, I'm going to check again and see if there are still any food items for sale for around $1 at Walmart. I just added a reminder to my calendar. :-)

If anyone is the Least Bit Concerned about what you are Putting into Your Body, You would Read the Labels and Ingredients of Most Food Products. Educate yourself on what is GOOD and BAD about what's in Your Food. It's Shocking what Alot of what we Eat is just Plain "Unhealthy" and "Toxic" to our GUT. Man-Made Oils, made with Mostly Harmful Chemicals are Especially BAD. Soy-Bean and Vegetable Oils are the WORST!! There is No Such Thing as "Vegetable OiL". You don't get Oil from Vegetables. It's All Fake!! The BEST SEED OILS are AVOCADO and Good Grade OLIVE OILES!! Oils are in Most Food Products, so it's better to spend a Little More Money on the Healthy Ones. I could go On and On about Dairy, Processed and Baked Goods, but I Won't.

It seems that because many kinds of food packaging has gone to single serving sizes, that for those who are vehicle dwellers or who are living in a tent somewhere, it works well if they have no ice cooler. It is unfortunate that the cheapest foods also seem for the most part to be the most processed foods, with little nutrition. I often ponder what foods I would be able to eat and enjoy with no refrigeration and only liquid fuel on which to cook. Car camping really takes some careful shopping so as not to waste a lot. Of course, that means that single serving item's prices are through the roof. It helps if you share foods with someone else to keep the prices down. I'd be living on rice and all combinations thereof, as rice is easy to fix on a simple burner. I guess I watch too many homeless videos! 💗

I am 70 years old and I lost my sweet brother Jon Michael Galli June 1, 1990, my 36th birthday. My mother and I spent countless hours at San Francisco General Hospital with him when he battled pneumocystis and lymphoma. We cared for him until his last breath…he was 34 years and 6 months. He was my best friend from birth and I will never forget our love. I have been to San Francisco so many times but never knew that there was a memorial grove. Now I want to see it, but I’m not sure that I can physically handle the stairs and length. I will go though…I live about an hour inland from SF. Jon and I went there with our parents so many times when we were children. I remember everything- the evil comments that were made even as I cried. Our family never rejected him, my mother cared for him in her home until he died with me helping, plus one chain smoking hospice worker that came occasionally. Thank you for making this video. I cry but it is cleansing. I am a better person because I went through this traumatic experience. I am never silent when anyone says negative things about the gay members of our world. They are precious and valuable. I lost so much and the world did too when my brother died. He was beautiful.

Btw, the stairs are only at one end of the memorial area. On the opposite side, the East side, there are no stairs. Most of the area is pretty flat. I hope you get to go and visit. And I hope his name is there. I think there’s a website where you can check to see which names are located there. 💙😇

I’ll go to Walmart, but also I’ll go to Aldis. no more Starbucks I can make coffee at home vanilla latte, etc. you gotta watch the soup packages in particular the Ramen and a lot of the soup Steve the sodium levels are there are so high. I don’t know if you and Jim have blood pressure issues but you really got to be careful with the sodium levels, I make a lot of thin. I make my own chicken soup from scratch. I'll weigh-in too! Live in coastal city of San Diego, in a SFH (single family house) that has a small mortgage. Have AC in the house, but weather is cool enough to require it's use only 10 times a year (give or take). Housing is -- by far -- the biggest barrier to moving into California from other states. Desirable properties -- houses (throughout the city) -- now (Sept '24) range upwards of $1M and nice neighborhoods (also throughout the city) start at $2M. The primo, beach-close areas can range upwards of $4M. Yes, the weather is comfortable -- and, I think, other living costs (taxes, insurance, food, fuel, etc.) are generally in-line with other areas of the USA. (Although gasoline tends to be expensive, we get much cleaner air in return for that cost). I am retired and would not leave California -- because, honestly... where could I go?

Hi B, we have dozens of amazing 55+ communities here in the Coachella Valley. It really just depends on your budget and which city you want to be in. I think they are all pretty nice. If you search Zillow or realtor.com they should all pop up. And if you find some in your price range, you can easily find a real estate agent to help you and share with you the pros and cons of each neighborhood. Best of luck in your search. It definitely should be a lot more affordable than the Bay Area. 😎👍

Have you tried, Pataday. It for allergy eyes. My Opthalmologists recommended it.

Good video Steve! I’m here in Southern California too (Huntington Beach) and have a few Walmarts within a short driving distance. If I may suggest something you may want to really keep an eye on, especially on very low priced food items…look at the little round/oblong stickers like what’s on avocados, limes, lemons etc..See if the product code is a 5-digit code starting with a “9”. If so it is genetically modified produce (GMO). If it is a 5-digit code starting with an “8” it is organically grown (and usually a higher price). If it is a 4-digit code (any number starting) then it is conventionally grown. I personally stay away from “9” produce. Now for low priced foods (boxed, canned or bagged, including frozen items) that seem really cheap, look at the ingredients and where they list the “country of origin”. The extremely cheap items usually all say “made with genetically modified ingredients”. I mention all of this because many people have food sensitivity. Some people will buy, for example, cans of chicken soup for years but suddenly found cans of soup much cheaper and then have a skin breakout or swollen eyes or joints. That switch to a can containing GMO items “could be” what makes them have a reaction. Just my 2-cents worth! (Hello to Jim too!).
