Mostly 80’s and 90’s Vintage LEGO sets from my childhood! Everything Lego pre-1998. Usually I stay true to the original sets, but in my displays I incorporate some newer minifigs, MOC’s, and landscaping/environment in progress! I’m a HUGE fan of the original Castle LEGO’s in particular, and right now that's the main focus and display! #legovintage #vintagelego #lego #legocastle #vintagecollectibles #legoknights #legoclassic
Royal Knights 'Royal Drawbridge' / LEGO Set 6078
Here's a look at #vintagelego @LEGO set 6078 'Royal Drawbridge' from the Royal Knights 1995 collection! I love this set, but it's hard to figure out how to display it or connect it to the other castle sets. Watch to the end and give me suggestions on how I should display it! #legoclassic #legoknights #vintagecollectibles #legocastle

'Royal Knights Castle' / LEGO set 6090

Sorry for the long video, but this is a big set! Probably the biggest castle from the 80's and 90's sets. @LEGO vintage set 6090 'Royal Knights Castle' was my favorite set as a kid, I loved this castle! I even carried it around with me places, which was not the best idea for how big it is. #vintagelego #lego #legoclassic #legovintage #legoknights #vintagecollectibles #vintagetoys #legoroyalknights

Cool🎉🎉😮😮
Just fantastic!!!
Thank you!
I think right side of the castle is best for drawbridge set.
@@DUNDOM5 yeah that's probably the direction I'll go with, if I don't make a more spread-out landscape
Maybe have a moat around the castle and use it as a bridge
@@JonasKrenzke Yeah that would be awesome! Good idea. In front?
wow amazing builds(:
The way the ghost fell out had me rolling LMAO
I have set 6544. Really hope someday Lego remake this wonderful set
I have this set since 1993 .
Thank you for this great video (just found your channel and am very glad I did). I was born 1997 and thus got my first non-duplo Sets in 2001. So I missed out on many of these sets and never really knew about them as a kid. But they speak to me way more than LEGOs more modern offerings. My collection consists of sets from 1978 to 2003 (plus a few modern sets like the lion knights castle and barracuda bay) and has gotten pretty big over the past years. The blocky asthetic adds an element of imagination to these older sets. The use of mostly standard pieces made sure you could rebuild everything. It also served to make the special pieces feel even more special. Many people like to say that modern LEGO is just plain better, an upgrade to what we had, but they completly dismiss the point that less can be more and LEGO used to be a creative toy for kids in a way modern LEGO in my opinion just isn't anymore. Thats not to say modern sets are bad in any way, they are just different. There are pros and cons to that and to me the old classics will always be a step above as I enjoy their "design philosophy" more.
I think I read online it was sold for a short period only which adds to its scarcity. Plus a blue forestman and pickett fork are also rare. Kind of ticks all the boxes for those who want what few have
Used to own this set 😢
One of my very firsts Lego sets. Still have it on my shelf :)
I have this set . Very good
Fantastico!!!!! grazie per la condivisione!!!!👍👍
Thank you!!
This MOC is so freakin cool. It has so much play to offer. A wonderful use of your random parts there
Haha yeah. If i had a plan or more consistent parts then of course you could make it better lol. But it's mostly random leftover parts! 😉 But that's the way I like lego sets, to not look so 'uniform'
@@vintagelegos my MOCs always look a little messy because I'm only pulling from random parts in my bin. Pretty us always nice, but intent and soul count just as much.
Never seen the second catalogus. Now i want one too!😮
Yeah! It has the Western theme in it
Hecka cool overview. Not too much going on, but its a fun addition to any castle and great parts for buikding your own stuff. Always a pleasure ro get a plastic flag and a ghost! I so very much miss the gray bird and ghost
Yeah! You could definitely make this out of old leftover parts too - or maybe make an updated MOC version of it!
I wish Lego would bring back ghost minifigure.
Oh yeah! That would be cool!
Great video my friend. I appreciate that you pointed out how rare the feathers are. I agree this set is overwhelming in charm.
Good.
Thank you! Cheers!
I alwals want this set . But i Never find.
It's hard to find with the correct Knight and accessories for sure!
Beautiful set, it has bricks that look new, is it the original from 1986 or is it the re-edition from 2001?
Yeah! I'll do a full video soon, but when compared to my other new pieces I have, these appear to be all old 'vintage' grey! As far as I can tell. I will have more details in a video to come!
Very cool . Excelent work .
Thank you!!! These are all my favorite sets for sure!!!
The begining of the end of a beautiful Lego era.
Nice video my man.
Your Dragon master display reminds me of a 1992 lego castle poster I have and I also would recommend making a moat around black knights castle.
Yes yes! Exactly what I was going for. I need more bricks to make it bigger though ha ha.
I believe the black knights symbol was kind of the defacto castle symbol for lego.
If you used a heat gun very carefully you might be able to get most of that bend out of the baseplate.
A barrel for the crossbow man would be more realistic in middle ages castles would store crossbow bolts in barrels until need and hang the crossbows themselves with the strings unattached.
ah! ok excellent - thank you for that insight!
I actually just got this poster of bricklink
Actually their was a picture in a lego catalog with the black falcon and black knights on the sea serpent peacefuly
airboat, fan boat, plane boat, swamp boat, bayou boat :))))
Ha ha a lot of boats!
No, M:Tron never had a permanent base - the Multi-Core Magnetizer (Mega Core Magnetizer) was supposed to act as a mobile base. However, since it is Lego, I'm sure someone could construct their own if they had the pieces - I wish I could someday...
The Monorail set there is supposed to be a Unitron set, although it was the only one released in 1994 - 3 more came out in 1995. From what I've heard, Unitron was a military faction that was supposed to work with the Space Police (eventually replacing the Space Police) on protecting the galaxy from the Spyrius and Blacktron forces, at least in North America. In foreign countries, they were portrayed as another civilian/exploration/mining faction, similar to Futuron, probably due to European parents not being thrilled with the idea of their kids having combat ships!
Actually, I probably didn't need to say this. Sorry!
So glad to see this video uploaded. What a beauty of a Castle too
Yes yes, it's a striking design! Not as functional/defensive as other castles, but lots of space and gothic/royal charm!
16:55 it is a gorgoles
oh yeah! I should've remembered that!
You forget one feature to show on how skeleten shows up on enemies.
Oh, what do you mean? Do tell!
6090 Royal Knights Castle has 11 minifigures and not 9! Ghst and Skeleton are also minifigures so it is 11 minifigures in this set. Also Riyal Knights interior is way better than 6086 set. It has more playable features.
It does have more room for sure! And the well and the jail are great designs
A lot of rambling. Could have been more concise. Need close up shots of interior. 19 mins could have been 10
Yeah, well it's one of my favorite sets, and I'm going to pretty much say what I want about it lol. This vid's not for everyone 😉
I had always glossed over this set when browsing castle set lists, but seeing it in detail I looooove the more gothic design elements of this one, the gargoyles and grotesques on the roofs are such great additions along with the spires, and that, I think, does a really good job implying the passage of history in the Lego Castle world. super cool
It even has a flying buttress of sorts :)
Oh yeah, good point! It does have some gothic elements!
Pls show alt builds of 6090 in next video
ah... oh man, I completely forgot! Maybe I will do a video series of alternate builds from different sets. I think I didn't care much for 6090's alternate builds on the back of the box, but it would still be fun!
This set is crown jewel of your collection. 6090 is also my fav lego castle.
Yeah! It is the 'crown' ha ha. It was my favorite too as a kid! I think still 6086 is slightly better overall. But the King is hard to beat!
I love the ruined castle in the middle of the land reminds me of privislavitz from kcd
Thank you!
My favorite set growing up. It's still in my parent garage with the original box.
Oh wow! That's awesome!
Looks awesome! I love the raised baseplate!
It's a big one, and you could really make use of it in your own moc designs!
This is the castle that killed the Castle theme. The previous castle, 6086 was great but then Lego released this ugly incomplete set along with dragons that same year and it was all downhill from there. Even the color scheme of this new faction was ugly!
Stop this B.S.! 6090 castle is great and awesome and i love it and the colors is very nice. ❤ it is a Complete castle.
@@andrius11 That's your personal preference.
Are you smokin crack or something? 6090 castle is goat.
It does kinda kick off the more 'fantasy' era, but I love it!
@@vintagelegos I still love this 6090 castle so much and own it and also own 6086 castle as well. Both 6090 and 6086 are my favorite castles of all time.
Nice. One of my favorite sets ever.
Yes yes! I think the largest of the Castles. Should've gotten better camera shots and close ups but I lost my special holder lol
Awesome work
Thank you! This one took longer to build for some reason than orher sets lol
IT IS THE SHIT. I wish I could have it.
Do it!
I had that set as a kid! The best Christmas gift at age 7! Ah, the memories...
Yes yes!! Such memories!! I even carried it on a trip as a kid, and we got in a car wreck on the trip with the set in my lap lol... And I made sure to account for every piece even though the car was messed up lol!
