- Sorry for the long video, but this is a big set! Probably the biggest castle from the 80's and 90's sets. @LEGO vintage set 6090 'Royal Knights Castle' was my favorite set as a kid, I loved this castle! This set is crown jewel of your collection. 6090 is also my fav lego castle.
Yeah! It is the 'crown' ha ha. It was my favorite too as a kid! I think still 6086 is slightly better overall. But the King is hard to beat!
I had always glossed over this set when browsing castle set lists, but seeing it in detail I looooove the more gothic design elements of this one, the gargoyles and grotesques on the roofs are such great additions along with the spires, and that, I think, does a really good job implying the passage of history in the Lego Castle world. super cool
It even has a flying buttress of sorts :)

My favorite set growing up. It's still in my parent garage with the original box.

Yes yes, it's a striking design! Not as functional/defensive as other castles, but lots of space and gothic/royal charm!
Beautiful set! The king has arrived! This was my coveted castle growing up 😃 I do share the same sentiment as you, I think the Black Knights castle, despite being smaller, does come ahead as arguably the greatest classic castle. After having both in hand, I believed the Black Knights utilized their baseplate a bit better than this one
yes! exactly, the baseplate and the completeness is slightly better. And you can utilize the front gate and tower behind the portcullis. Whereas, in the Royal Knights castle, you can't fit any figs in the tower when the portcullis is pulled up. Maybe I'll do an alt. build or add to it

Yes yes!! Such memories!! I even carried it on a trip as a kid, and we got in a car wreck on the trip with the set in my lap lol... And I made sure to account for every piece even though the car was messed up lol!

ah... oh man, I completely forgot! Maybe I will do a video series of alternate builds from different sets. I think I didn't care much for 6090's alternate builds on the back of the box, but it would still be fun!

6090 Royal Knights Castle has 11 minifigures and not 9! Ghst and Skeleton are also minifigures so it is 11 minifigures in this set. Also Riyal Knights interior is way better than 6086 set. It has more playable features.
It does have more room for sure! And the well and the jail are great designs

This is the castle that killed the Castle theme. The previous castle, 6086 was great but then Lego released this ugly incomplete set along with dragons that same year and it was all downhill from there. Even the color scheme of this new faction was ugly!
Stop this B.S.! 6090 castle is great and awesome and i love it and the colors is very nice. ❤ it is a Complete castle.

@@vintagelegos I still love this 6090 castle so much and own it and also own 6086 castle as well. Both 6090 and 6086 are my favorite castles of all time.
