Large ground elevation (or excavation) and nothing destructible too close to the border of this isolated surface is the greatest thing ever. It's not a wall, it's topography modification, so depending of how the place is exploited, no problem with aesthetic, especially if you chose to start by expending from some natural hill/ cliff + beach/ ground depression ...

So games looks great in videos online. I go to play on Xbox console… looks like sh*te. Also, narrator… speak proper English. Try to annunciate properly. Ugggggg…. So annoying.

Just a heads up, using 2 star wolves, the pups weren't dropping through the hole. Removed the small beams making the base of the little crosses in the center, and that allowed them to fall. Playing on Ashlands patch.

This is the most advanced defense system I've seen so far for Valheim :)

I've made an unraidable base it is simple, dig a hole to bedrock then raise the ground around the hole easy, enemies will not get in if you raised the ground high enough and you can make a little parkour jump for you to get in.

While this stuff may work, i find too much cheese with using ALL the techniques...just seems like it would be boring after a while. Maybe i will use this to protect boars, as thats annoying enough to get going.

yeahhhh, bridge doesnt work.... Just had all my 2 star boars killed by a brute that just walked right over... and the gap was bigger than the one in the vid.... great

I do wish they would make spikes more durable. Or have a way to upgrade them several times to get increased durability.

You can lift buildings up from the bottom to bring up the base/ door, that’s when the pillars generate underneath, and how you can put them ‘on top’ of the towers

As a person who builds towns/villages as my bases, i have disabled raids🤷🏼‍♀️ so my base dont get attacked

if you have base near water but dont build a wall on the part in the water, will the enemies just swim past the walls?

The Demo has a Virus 🦠 DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT. I thought it wasnt the game. But it showed it had a virus in the files. The Game wont come out. DO NOT BUY I am not lying. I actually cried because i bought my PC 11 months ago😢. If you computer wont go into restmode. You need to reinstall the whole PC

OK so where the hell has this been all these years? The problem with Minecraft has always been two. Blocks only and low graphics. I have been looking for years and years for a game that fixes both problems. Nice graphics and actual shapes that make everything more seamless.

Bark description reads: "Can be harvested for fiber".

You can craft fibre by looking at bark on the ground and harvest it. I think you can do the same with thatch.

Thanks for the video! Words like "pretty enjoyable" + "kinda liked" means you try to be polite, instead of saying "It's overcomplicated and cumbersome". At least that's how I felt it. Still game is worth to be kept in wishlist, and IF there will be full release, and IF improvements made, then ... we'll see. Thanks again for doing all this work, so we don't have to.

Yeah, also works in real life: you sleep => you heal.

The game looks really grindy and my villagers died to enemies raiding at night (and me having terrible combat skills). One also starved because of mismanagement. That said: you can harvest some of the smaller items for other stuff, like fibers. No need to kill the wisps. You can use your "scanner" often, you passed by plants that give fibers. It gets a bit more manageable once you have two or more villagers, but it also increases the stress of micro management. Like telling them where to harvest items, once the first spots are empty. Re: tools: there are about the same amount of tools in Valheim, but you don't need (or even get) them from the beginning and actually need them for your first building (in Valheim, i mean) :D

Never heard of a viking saying yummy when they ate food or ouch i have a splinter. Must be some new age pussy vikings. Wont buy it or play on those points alone.

Just one minor note for Ashland enjoyers. Lava slimes can break your raised ground walls.

My best base defense is my shield and my sword.

it works bcoz its not mincraft nothing cant float. it should break when not touch anything. even its allready unnatural floathing from one point. never had it work for copper and its faster mine copper first place
