Since the latest patch Chickens now lay their eggs differently - so it will break several Breeder designs, including the design I used for the Elder Breeder (ua-cam.com/video/W9Qvmfix4q0/v-deo.html). But this guide should fix it without too much hassle! - The rest of the previous guide is still perfectly fine, just slight changes to the chicken pens.
Just finished building it. It is possible to build it without the elder altar/flame. It gets a bit more expensive with the ironwood beams needed to replace the pillars and a few extra to keep the stone floors more stable, but its doable from scratch. I am using a floor brazier to replace the flame. Thanks again for the breeder schematics!
wow, that was quick. thank you. came to check the other video for some comments maybe, then I saw you already have a video for the fix. you are awesome
works really well, built two one for meat and feathers one for eggs. But I must confess after trying to herd chickens into the 'pens' it definitely turned me into a happy homicidal chicken slayer when it came time to get the meat.
The Breeder itself works fine BUT my problem with this is, after a while the Chicken Food will "merge" into a big ONE Stack! Example: Every Chicken gets 10 Seeds/Barley, after some time (Block Update it seems) the Seeds are Merge into ONE Stack of 36 -> each Chicken ate 1 and the rest Merged :/ Seeds are the "better" choice for now, as of Barley INSTANTLY merges after about 2-3 seconds but Seeds stay for 5-15min depending on... i don't know. Edit: Tested now with just 3 Chickens and also just 2 on each side -> makes no difference, it's not the Chickens, it's the Merge of the Stacks of Food. Also a good way is to throw a stack of 100 (max stack) at each Chicken, also works "better" for a while. But sooner or later the stacks Merge into ONE Stack and stop working.
If you check my Original Guide (link in description) you will get all the mats I used for it. As you are only adding beams instead of floors, you only would need a bit of extra wood.
Just found these videos... Does this still work ? In the old video you have a 3x3 grid, but in this one you have a 4x4 grid for the breeding up top? What video do you cover those changes? Edit: I'm using the 3x3 grid with 8 hens at my main base with a hearth as the fire source and a few extra wood iron beams for support. So it still work... and good! Oh, one more thing... I HATE YOU! My frames went from 60 to 10 because I have hundreds of chickens now. Thanks!
Oh no... I couldn't wait and used another design of chicken coop on the Eldet breeder. It looks nice but the rework was much more work than this :( I guess I will rebuild it to maintain effiency...
Bee may i ask you what settings you play on? it just happened that after the patch i have 20 fps while in my base and like 50ish outside. i never had such problems but the patch broke something for me and i ffs dont know how to fix it. maybe you have an idea and thank you for all of your work, your content is top notch
@@Jefuslives Thank you but i am running on a dedicated server without Mods, i installed valheim plus for a short period of time but i play "vanilla" atm. and besides that i assume even with a mod compatibility issue it shouldnt lower the fps from 120+ to 20 in and 50 outside of the base.

@@The-B-Side Thank you Bee. That pretty much is close to what i was running valheim on. I don't believe so too, more of a fix to avoid chickens to pop out of the pen when doing it normally. I am pretty sure that the Dev's said they feel conflicted about the breeders, because they love the creativity of it, but also unsure if they are ok with the cooped up "Animals".
@@The-B-Side Lox farms are only possible with mud walls araund raised to max......as they love to stack on each other and run out of fences. But yeah i havent seen a single lox breeding farm that doesnt suck XD Breeding them on a mountain cliff (and driving them up) is kinda the only working thing. Their breeding hitbox is just weird.
@@Bullminator I give up maintaining my lox farm altogether when I unlocked chicken. They are so much hassle to breed. I made ramp from stone for breeder and a single fuling / deathsquito always makes them almost destroy the breeder.
@@dauddimasprasetyo4231 Yeah, you would have to build a lox breeder behind 2 ditches so loxes wont aggro mobs... You could use a balista just before the ditch so it kill any mobs that spawn near. Or build more raised despawners.

I thought i was going to have to rework it to something complicated but it was so easy to fix.
Thank you so much man! I was so disappointed when I saw my chicken farm wasn't working anymore and this fixed it right up!
Super fast update!!! We appreciate your work!!!!

Bruh just throw eggs in the pen and let them hatch 😂
Going to try this right now. I had a similar setup going, but my chickens would not eat.
Left you a sub .
Easy-peasy chicken-squeezy! Nice! Thanks Beebs!
Added bonus! With the chickens wedged up by the beams like that, it DOESN'T MATTER IF ONE OF THE JERKS TURNS THE WRONG WAY!!!!1 :D

still works in bog witch update ,also raise inside perimeter to 3m o 4m chicks jump if 2m only

I suggest checking any mods you are using for compatibility issues. There could be something in conflict with the new item cleanup system.
