Makech is my second generation Quadruped Robot and it made its first appearance alongside DAGR (first generation robot) in the 2023 Silicon Valley Robot Block Party hosted by Circuit Launch. Makech came from concept to reality in six weeks as part of a Design Sprint Challenge I decided to undertake. Please visit my blog to learn more details and read dated updates about the design sprint. Makec...

Cute🎉🎉🎉😊

What parts did you use to build the test stand? Thanks
Some linear bearings I found on amazon.
What robot is the wheeled one?
Rhea, the sarcastic robot.
@Dagor GabraelLevine Found it, thanks
Is this how steer by wire is implemented on Cybertrucks?
@@NotTubeIm yes, same principle, but now over a wireless protocol obviously :)
Great Run, Awesome Safety Gear ;)
This is so cool! I'm trying to build exactly this right now
idea behind it ?
robot dog!
Would love to support the project, and purchase some boards! When is the next stock getting made? This is exactly my dream board.
Interstellar robot?
@@Merve1020Gül TARS!!
@@Dagor yea!
Love the Interstellar bot.
I've been LIVING simplefoc for 2 months in my hobby time. Sooooooo awesome. Such a rabbit hole. I i'm slowly working up to making one of your boards (also I think I met you at Open Sauce I was the really tall dude that was completely completely overstimulated by your booth) Anyway, bravo
I remember you :) happy to hear that you went the rabbit hole of motor control. Let me know when you make those board!
These are amazing simplefoc inspirational projects
haha thats awesome!
So cool!
Hi, I have a question for you, why do you sense the position of the motor and not use the position of the leg better? The way you do it you add up all the errors caused by the pulley chain such as backlash or play in the axes, etc. You have to know where the leg is and generate the response of your closed loop from the position of the leg, not the position of the motor, which is ultimately not important. Regards. from Argentina
@@nesbionics the position of the motor is important for commutation, you cannot commutate this motor without some sort of position feedback. It’s true that errors add up and by not having an absolute position sensor on the joint itself I only estimate it by knowing the position of the motor and multiplying by the reduction ratio, however, these inaccuracies have shown to be not important for this type of application
@@Dagor The problem then is the controller? That motor is the same type used in drones. The controllers I use are open loop with a PWM. If I want to do it in closed loop, I put the sensor in the joint and then adjust the PWM according to what the PID indicates. This will translate into more or less engine rpm depending on the gain you give to the algorithm. It's your project anyway and you already answered me, which I thank you for. I hope to see your project soon. Good luck.
@@nesbionics well, what I have here is my own motor controller running SimpleFOC. Completely different way of commutation the motor like what those drone controllers do. I encourage you to read the SimpleFOC docs to learn about Field Oriented Control.
@@nesbionics btw check out newer videos. I finished this robot and made a brand new one!
What motor do u use?😮
@@정빈-s2r I used Aliexpress 5010 brushless motors
I just pieced together it was you and nano i met at Open Sauce- Awesome work and i’m dipping my toes into SimpleFOC!
@@gearscodeandfire it was great meeting you! Excited to see what you build next
Thank you for making it open-source, I'm looking forward to using them!
what is the process board did you use to control all the motors, another ESP32? I didn't see the main board in the cad file?❤
@@ChenxiHu-se4ct yep, another ESP32 is the brain
perfect job!Do you have plan to open source this project? I also want to make one by myself!❤
@@ChenxiHu-se4ct files are on github
@@ChenxiHu-se4ct let me know how it goes!
Nice work !😍 what is the website address did you use to control the arm in the video? I didn't find it in the open source?
Does this driver fits any brushless motor? Or just specific model?
any brushless equals or smaller than the board's power spec
@@Dagor What brushless motor type you most recommend in this project, and what value do I need to change if necessary to fit different types of motor in the code?
This is awesome, thank you. I have been looking for cheap, small open source brushless controllers like this to build a robot for so long
wow finallyyyyyyyyyyyy
please make one without an encoder.. meaning use only the 3 motor wires to find the motor angle..sensorless controller... it is not easy but possible.
The SimpleFOC community is working on it!
Congrats on open sourcing it!
Finally pulled the trigger :)
How much current are you using to drive those motors?
Is it cgi or real??
Real!
Hello where can i buy this foc controller?
Cute and cool at the same time
What type of motor you used?brand? &tech specs?
GIM4305 actuators with my custom motor controller.
daim these motors seem fast /strong
they are!
Faltaría un perro de cuerpo
That's wonderful, but is there a list of parts, code and wiring diagram for this specific setup? Just that, no frill simple wireless control of a brushless motor by another brushless motor. Thanks!
Great quadruped !
Hi David! I have a question in my mind, may i know what is the diameter of the brushless motor? Thank you!
It's a 4234 motor!
what a waste of techbology😕👎🏻
A little overkill for a drawing robot, what would you make with an arm? I'm in need of ideas.
Awesome work and fun to watch👍Any github code sharing ?😎
Now it needs a micro turret
He so happy 🥺
Imagine that thing getting a evolution and it chases after you 😂😂
That thing better not crawl out from under my car, or it's gonna experience a blunt impact test real quick, lol.
Hims soo happy
That is looking amazing! Fantastic progress. Out of curiosity what is the total weight of your quadruped?
It weighs around 4.5 kg
Impressively light for its size! Nice job with the weight optimization@@Dagor
