how do I do auton?
I dont have any space to got 2 holes out... Is there a way around this?
You can, it just takes a lot more tuning to get it just right
Our team don't have VersaHex adapters to put flex wheels on, is that an alternative?
@@EasyPianoMDStudio The main other things some people use is: - you can put 12 tooth pinion gears in the middle instead - you can use lock bars on both sides of the wheel, and that should work too Good luck!
@@Joseph973 Can I use the 2.75 green wheel?
@@EasyPianoMDStudio You might be able to, give it a try
How did you make it so your flex wheels still spin while it’s grabbing the rings. We have a problem where when the ring goes up the ramp the flex wheels won’t spin and push it into the hook
Do you have wheel Insirts and a floating intake?
@ yes I do I have basically everything that he has idk why his works and mine doesnt
This is not even that good tbh
Im just trying to make the polycarb piece... how long is it?
I believe it's about 4 inches long, but it'll be different for each robot
@@Joseph973you wouldnt be willing to share the cad file would you😅
by the way the valve releases air on one side making it ideal to pump air use the thing for the gauge and the pump part sorry for lack of terms
generally what is best place to put the air tanks
@@CyberDragon-u7w An air tank, a battery, and a brain are all about equal weight, so wherever you can fit the tanks and they don't make your center of gravity too off-center should be good
so say my team wants a goal pick up with a higher tilt approximately 30 degrees off the ground how would we accomplish that ?
To adjust the tilt of a goal, you just need to adjust the little piece on the end and/or the stop on the bottom of the goal
I love you man, you help me a lot
Do you have any suggestions for how to do this without pneumatics because my team does not have pneumatics
axle getting ready to be destroyed :) dont do this. take a look at the coaxial screw joint + axle joint from 4154v's spin up worlds explanation for a good way to do this.
@@3818c_cookin You're right, that way is also a great way to do that, but this way works fine for tons of teams as well, and I've personally tested this intake in 30+ hours of drive practice without issues
@@Joseph973 i would say that competing with something is a lot different than testing. defense can be very intense, and the head-on collision of two bots, both at max speed? thats a lot more energy dispersed than one robot can perform alone.
@@3818c_cookin I agree, by drive practice, I was talking about practicing with between 2 and 4 robots on the field, 1 robot imo isn't real drive practice
@@Joseph973 wouldnt say that, 1 robot is valid. still wouldnt use the shaft, metal fatiguesm etc.
@@3818c_cookin Sure, to each their own
How long is that c channel you use to mount your intake (the top one)
I have a question. I'm a freshman and have got every part of the bot built except the goal clamp. I also don't have access to pneumatics. Do you have ideas on making one with a motor?
Not sure if you’ve fixed your issue yet or not but I’m going to answer anyway. I built a mogo mech with a 5.5 watt motor, to get an acceptable level of torque I had to gear it down, also making it very slow. So don’t use a 5.5 watt. I screwed 2 high strength 36 tooth gears to the end of some c-channel, then I ran my motor gear into that, basically making an arm/elbow type pivot. I have pictures which are probably much more descriptive than me, just not sure how I’d get them to you
Hey man I have a question, when my phumatics are hooked up to my solenoid and are not activated there’s no air leak, then when it’s activated the soloist lets out air instead of activating the piston, any thoughts on how to fix. If it will help I can email a video tomorrow?
Maybe a bad solonoid or the footings are on wrong/ loose.
maybe you're not doing ur tubing right, ur tubing should go from high to low where the air tank is connected from the top hole to the bottom hole
@One_Origin I would double check that you have your tubes hooked up correctly and in the right spots, like the other people have been saying
Is it possible to get some picture for intake and the pole
@@LeopoldLiu Yes, just click the link in the description and I'll send you some close-up photos
@@Joseph973thanks a lot also if it’s possible to know some details about the drivetrain, our drivetrain is like a 6motor but is a bit slow, and also it looks so fat and vey holo I really want to see some drivetrain thank you.
Awesome video! Just curious to know your thoughts on the VEXbolts mass unfollowing and revival?
thanks mate! your intake helped me get to nationals!
This is something I want to build but question what if I don't have flex wheels
One option is you can use flaps wrapped around the 6-tooth sprockets, and that might work as well
Awesome stuff.
I dont know why people are hating on it so much. It's a simple, informative video about an intake that works extremely well. Thank you!
I wouldn't use a ls axle to make a pivot. its kinda bad.

why so many keps nuts. and the front of those drive pods are begging for mercy 💀
@@338AIterated Keps nuts because this robot was never going to compete in a competition and because they're easier to build with, and I agree with you about the drivetrain 💀, I've fixed it since I filmed the video
keps nut better

what a wonderful idea for an intake I just had
Your plastic is going to snap you need to put standoffs connected to the front points
I've actually doubled up the plastic sheets to keep that from happening (and haven't had any issues), but you're right that a standoff going between them would definitely be a good idea too.
@@Joseph973 if you look closely some parts on the tip have already snapped off. That's just a sign that you kinda need to put something there.
@@NtGm714 Yes I agree with you, that would be good idea
how can i turn my bot
This code makes your robot be able to drive straight as well as turn. If your robot is having trouble turning, it might be a mechanical issue.
Thank you that was super helpful. Could you possible do a video on how to do an auton with this code?
What motor did you use?
@@AnayNandi-t7g I use a red cartridge, so it's spinning at 100rpm
Ngl, almost started crying finding this. Thank youuu
can you send a parts list or a PDF with the build instructions? (of the drivetrain or the entire thing) I am trying to build a version of Misfire, even if it isn't exactly the same.
@@dr.ortega1096 Because of the process we used to build it, there are no step-by-step instructions, however you can find some photos here www.roboticsmastery.com/2024-misfire-reg
bro is not ben lipper💀🙏
Worked well on our robot, keep up the great work
Passing Mr Zummos test with this one, thanks bro!
Hey, so I have a question how would you make the ring go inside the mobiles goals? ,The one who is related to the field itself
how did you get that c channel angled for the ramp?
Hi Joseph, pls reply. I just want to know where you added the rubber bands, did you stretch them to the front like the original hero bot? My team is building a different robot, but with similar mechanism.
If I'm understanding you correctly, yes I did put them like on the herobot. Good luck on your robot!
Did you just create an auto button for the catapult? Like after shooting it goes down.
I have question. How to pick up mobile goal without piston. Like can you use motor
is your arm auto down ?
Yes, I automatically spin the catapult pack down after each shot since there's no reason you'd want it to stay up.
@@Joseph973 thanks Has it ever caused you any problems?
@@lityumLi No, that's actually how I've been doing it for years, why do you ask?
every time i see a pitching in video pop up i almsot cry. Like wtf? Its been 3 entire years since i first watched that. Time flys when ur having fun ig.
is there antything i can use to substitute for the polycarb?
You should be able to sub the flat aluminum sheet for the polycarb. You can also buy a sheet of the polycarb from robosource or amazon for $5, so it's pretty cheap if you want to get some.
@Joeseph973 sorry I did not clarify I meant for the polycarbonate on the picker upper thingy
How would I use this in my autonomous ans skills writing? I used your drive setup btw
is there antything i can use to substiture for the polycarb?
If you have those steel curved 90 degree things (from the Vex Gusset Pack (Structural Gussets)), those work really well for absolutely no reason. Another way is to get 1/8in to 1/16in polycarb from your local hardware store, I'll bet you they have some, and it's a lot cheaper than Robosource.
why do other videos divide by 0.08
I dont take advise from someone who uses fish mech. But thanks anyways
@@skootle3871 To each their own...
💀💀💀
bro is tweaking real hard wtf fish mech is NOT that bad
Our team struggled getting the belt and hooks tuned just right. I’d give those who are struggling some advice. Use 2 inch standoffs and 1.5 in hooks. We just used just some longe screws instead of poly-carb, either works. Also we found that having the direction of the hook go vertical when it’s traveling down the length of the goal was helpful in consistency. This is done by adding another gear further down the beam holding the top gear.
@@alexvaughan6830 Every robot will be a little different and have it's own little quirks about it, I'm glad you found something that works, and thanks for sharing what you found!
great video! can you do one explaining how to get the rings onto the hooks at the bottom? we're considering switching to a hook design and we don't know how to design that part
