- Here's me and Ben's most recent robot for this year: Shotgun!
After many questions and emails about close-ups of this robot and how the mechanisms work, I decided to make a robot reveal.
This reveal should answer all your questions about "How does [x] work?" If it doesn't, feel free to shoot me a comment, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Specs:
Drive (2m): 2:3
Arm (1m): 3:1
Spinner (1m): 1:15
Shooter (1m): 1:1
Good luck this season!
As always, like and subscribe, and let me know if you have any questions. - Наука та технологія
I’ve moved onto vrc now but ur designs are still killing it keep it up!
My friends are on the 9007k team and I was able to see the shooting mechanism! Its so cool!
Hi Sharky
Can you send me build instructions for shotgun. This is a robot I would really like to build
How did you get the disks to not jam the magazine when dumping the blue dispenser? Do you have something on the ramp?
How many motors did you use
How did you all prevent the first disk that falls into the collector at the bottom by the launcher from moving too far forward? Our launcher works but sometimes the first disk falls too far from being hit.
Make sure the platform the disk lands on covers the whole surface area of the disk
I NEED IT
How do you make the discs always go into the shooter thee right way?
The short answer is that they don't always. Most on the time they'll funnel well, but sometimes not. Basically there are two key parts that make it work. First is the angled piece on top of the hopper that only lets a few through at a time. It's much easier to load a few at a time rather than a bunch all at once. Then there's the actual magazine. It is shaped as much as a circle as possible because that makes it harder for the disks to land sideways in it and jam, because more than one don't really fit next to each other, but it still does happen for us sometimes. Good luck!
Amazing! We were are the competition at Pasadena today and we got Ben Lipper to sign our soda can. We were going to ask for your signature too because one of our teammates really like your videos and we think you’re underrated, but we were too shy to approach you and didn’t know if you would agree to sign something of ours. Thanks for managing the competition!
Hello, yes I totally would have signed your can. Ben's a lot scarier than I am. It was great seeing you guys play, and good luck in the rest of the season!
@@Joseph973 Hopefully we'll see you at the next Ben Lipper Pasadena event, because we're going to that one as well!
@@kokomie I might now be at that one, we'll see. I would really like to go, but I might have something else then.
@@Joseph973 Oh alright! Hope we can see you there!
Hi. I am looking to see how your shooter works. I have something similar but would love some close ups on how your shooter works. My robot is very similar.
There are some close-ups in the reveal that should give you a pretty good idea of how it works. If there is something specific I can try to explain it to you.
@@Joseph973 Yeah. It’s just how you attached the rubber band to the shooter. I’m just a little confused there.
@@pendals54 There is a standoff at the end of the shooting arm that the rubber band is attached to. It can really be anything though. Just something on the end of the lever-arm that lets the rubber band pull and give power to the shooter.
Nice! Are you taking this one to the Dec 10 competition?
I am actually not in VEX IQ anymore, I do V5 as team 920B, but Ben and I build VEX IQ robots for fun and to help out other teams and share ideas.
Are you guys too old to compete then, I just had my first tourney and we did terrible,I’m looking for design ideas so thank you
@@7Lucas7 Yeah, I'm too old for IQ so I do VRC
@@Joseph973 You guys doing VRC reveals?
@@exortions3079 Maybe at some point
GIVE ME INSTRUCTION

@@Joseph973 the grey piece next to the purple spinner at 1:00 and in 1:02, im tryning to figure out what it does
@@jadasf9832 It's the launching mechanism. It's rubber banded down, and the purple piece lifts it up and then lets go, letting it snap back down and shooting the disk.
@@Joseph973 oh i understand now. thx
All this kid does is copy Ben lipper
We are brothers. We both work together to build and design the robots. Then we both post them. If I always copy Ben Lipper, then where did this video come from?
@@Joseph973 I was joking good video
Hey Joseph! Do you have an email/Facebook/Instagram account? If you could help me please, I want to make a similar robot
Sure, email me at sjdf212@gmail.com. Good luck with the robot!
