NEW ROBOT - VEX IQ Full Volume | 65 Points Teamwork

- Have you seen a robot that can do the supply zone? What about a double park? This robot does both!
This is a fun robot (we've named KnifeEdge) that we built to complement a robot that scores on the goals. It fits under the bar and is able to clear the supply zone in under a minute. Plus, who doesn't want to fling the cubes halfway across the field? :)
It's a relatively easy robot to build, though it's not as easy as it initially looks.

It was “fun” seeing your robot at state
I will never forgive you for this
I like your idea 🎉🎉🎉
I have the same idea. Great minds think alike!
what are the pins you used on the scoop / lift called? my team is trying to go with a robot with the similar design but we cant find a way to make the scoop without blocking it in certain places
You guys should definitely have a round with this robot and block buster and see how many points you can score
That did happened when I was qualified for state it kind did good (89 points)
Is there a way to make the flipper stay on the ground. The flipper is like at the end it gets up and at the bottom it touches.
@joseph973 any tips on how to make the arm go down but freely move to catapult? I’ve got the rubber band mechanism figured out to fling blocks back but I’m struggling to figure out how to lower the platform down.
Can you please make a tutorial on how to make this?
I’m using it for robotics thanks for the idea (tiny but mighty)
No problem! I'm glad you found it useful
I’m on his team@@Joseph973
His name is atharva
Jk
But I’m on his team tho
Can you do a tutorial on how to make it?
How does the double motor control the flip mechanics?
It's a 1:1 gear ratio on one of the motors, and direct drive on the other. The rubber bands help it fling them further.
Could you send me some pictures of to robot because I’m interested in building that mechanism
Can u tell me the introductions for this robot Pleaee
What are the blue pieces that you used to make the knife's edge?
They are ramps (which are legal) from previous years' fields. The most recent years that had them were Pitching In, Rise Above, and Next Level.
Can I replace them with something else@@Joseph973
what is the height of the robot? what is the highest clearance to go under the supply zone?
The 2" omni wheels barely fit under the bar, so the bar has just over 2" clearance. It is a challenge making everything fit in that small of a package.
Can we get an instruction video please
What pieces did you use to lift the arm
Nothing crazy, just what it looks like
how to make such a powerful ramp, my team tried to make it but we failed
is there instructions
My team is struggling with the flipper. Can u send me a better picture of your gear ration?
You can check out this website for more photos of the robot. Just enter your email and we'll send them to you www.studentroboticseducation.com/vex-iq-robotics-2023-knifeedge/
What do the rubber bands do?
They give it more force to shoot the cubes further, especially when it's shooting a bunch of cubes at a time
Where are the insturctions
It is a nice and simple design suitable for young children. If it's convenient, can you send me some design details, as a technical exchange? Thank you.
I can't send you instructions as per VEX's student centered policies. But there should be some good close-ups in the video that should give you a good idea of how it's built
LOL! CLEAN UP ON AISLE 3!
So its 10 extra points for emptying the supply zone?
It's 20 for the supply zone, 30 for the double park, and 15 for the red cubes.
You could technically get 111 points with those two robots
How so?
Still waiting for best of frc content😅😢
Lol I didn't think anyone actually enjoyed them, I've been working on a 3rd one, but I don't have enough clips yet to post it
@@Joseph973 ayy lets go, ofcourse people are looking for that!
Me and a few team members watched it once a while ago and it was really fun, looking forward to it!
Why you didn’t write that it is Ben Lipper’s robot reveal
Because we're brothers, we both build and drive the robots and post them.
Oh, I actually didn’t know, sorry if I was rude
try to make it faster
Ben Lipper anyone. All your robots just copy Ben Lipper, and you take his ideas for yourself with no credit.
We're actually brothers, and we both build and design the robots. I'm actually the one in the videos driving the robots. Also, Ben Lipper doesn't have all the shots at the beginning, so where would I get those if I didn't have the robot?
@Joseph973 Can the other robot clear the supply zone
Can you please make a tutorial on how to make this?
I can't make a tutorial because that is against VEX's student centered policies. You are supposed to come up with your own robot. You can take inspiration from others, but the robot should be yours, not mine.

I'm sorry, but that is against VEX's policies of being a student centered program. However you can go here to get up close pictures of the robot www.studentroboticseducation.com/vex-iq-robotics-2023-knifeedge/ . There are also a lot of up close shots at the start of this video that should give you a good idea of how to build it. Let me know if you have any questions, and good luck!

A tutorial would go against VEX's policies of being a student centered program, so I can't make a tutorial, however, I can help you answer specific questions if you have any. There's also a lot of close up shots in this video that should help you build it.
@@Joseph973 Oh that is why you don't do tutorials i understand now.
@@Joseph973is there a tutaril anywhere or u have to buy it?😊
@@Joseph973how do you make the flipper
@@jordenwhitehead7724 It just like it looks, there is no special magic that makes it work or anything. Take a look and see what you can figure out.
