  • A second round with our first robot of the season, 80 points!
    Now scoring quite a lot more cubes, our robot Blockbuster improves from last time. It uses a rubber band roller as an intake to be able to pick up from the entire front of the robot, multiple cubes at a time, and score multiple at a time as well.
    This robot also only uses 5 motors, so comment down below with any suggestions with what we should use the last motor for.
    We'll continue to improve this robot and release more videos with higher scores as we improve.
    Comment below with any questions, and good luck in Full Volume!
    Robot specs:
    2m drive 2:3
    2m arm 5:1
    1m intake 4:5
    Like and subscribe, and I'll see you in the next video.

    Might be a weird question what rubber bands are you using?

      We're just using the normal #32 rubber bands, but most rubber bands in that size range will still work

    Could you state the sizes of the cubes by any chance?

      Before asking questions, try reading the game manual first. link.vex.com/docs/23-24/viqrc-full-volume/GameManual , specifically on page nine with the Game-Specific Definitions

    Do the size of the robot match the manual book?

    • @Joseph973
      @Joseph973  Рік тому +2

      Yes, it measures about 9" wide by about 14" tall in starting configuration. It's about 19" long at it's longest point (when the arm is partially up). This is well within the 11"x20"x15" sizebox

    I tried this vertical position for the brain. But I cannot take the battery out without breaking some part of the robot.

      Yes you are absolutely right, good catch. If you look closely at this robot's brain mount though, it has a little pin you can pull out at the top of the brain. This releases the brain to be able to rotate back on the bottom holes, which lets you get the battery in and out.

    How did you build it so fast

    • @Joseph973
      @Joseph973  10 місяців тому

      The reason we were able to build it so fast was because we didn't come up with anything on this robot. It's all stuff we've seen previously on other robots. So we just copy the designs from other robots, and change the geometry a little, and then you have a new robot like this one. Fyi that's how we design most of our robots.

    Is youtube your and ben's fulltime job or just a hobbie. If not what is you actual job

      No, UA-cam is not our full time job. I do online marketing among other things, and Ben runs www.studentroboticseducation.com among other things. VEX IQ is more of a hobby then a job for me.
