My car is back! We changed the cam and ended up having some issues with the trick flow Ls3 heads so those are gone. The car now has completely stock Ls3 heads (unported unmilled) with a set of used BTR 660 springs on it. Did you truy your „meth tune“ map just on e without meth? Just in case you was not running best ign on ethanol map
@RRahmani_performance that wouldn't work. If my methanol tune is loaded the meth is on. If I don't plan on using methanol I load a different tune. About 10% of total fueling is methanol so that would be a lot of fuel missing.
My AEM X-Series was wired up properly and worked perfectly for almost two years before it melted down out of nowhere. Nothing was changed. I have a video on my channel about it. I have 30+ year old Honda ECUs that work fine to this day. So we're supposed to by a new wideband controller every two years? Has anyone else dealt with this?
@HexBMX I've seen a lot of AEMs fail and have issues. The CANBUS ones will also do weird stuff sometimes to the car when they fail. I don't personally run the AEMs I have ballanger AFR 500s.
@@andrewd843 Right on. Yeah, I've been in the game since around 2007. But working on Hondas since the 90's. Yes, I am old. And I have had more problems with these than any other equipment I've dealt with. If you've had consistent good luck with something out there, I am all ears. Just because something offers a one year warranty doesn't make it acceptable to burn out two years in. Hell, my ECUs have been running stock and then modified for 30+ years. Same thing. Just a circuitboard. And they have been fine. Thanks for the reply.
@HexBMX same here. I got my first Honda in 2004, then DSMs, then SRT4, then ls stuff. I had an AEM and kept having issues, sensors die, the controller dies, went through multiple in a year. Swapped the Ballanger afr 500 and have yet to have an issue. I get them with the upgraded NTK sensors, and I haven't had a sensor die in the time I had multiple AEM units die. My personal car has one permanently installed, and then I have one I use for any car that comes in for a tune at the shop.
@@andrewd843 Thanks for the input. I keep mine running in my car at all times. I will give the Ballanger a try. I seriously appreciate the input. Because I can assure you that this was not "user error"... I'd rather spend the bucks in one pop than having to keep rebuying something over and over. I went through a few different controllers. A couple cheap ones, an older AEM and then the X-Series. I could have bought a Ballanger with all that money. Not even including all the money spent on sensors.

Sorry didn't even plan on making a video it was an afterthought once I already was working on it. The c6 has been out now since 05, so basically, it's 20 years. There are plenty of threads on how to remove the center console.

This didn't make boost. Not with a K03.
On a PD blower you want to spray pre and post rotors with a 50/50 mix of water and alcohol preferably isopropyl alcohol as it cools even better than methanol and has more power in the fuel
Water doesn't compress. That can cause bad things to happen in the rotors if you spray a lot. Water is better for cooling. I don't use methanol for cooling. I use it for the octane.

I was under the impression that stoich for pump gas was 14.1 for e10. Great info and something over looked often.
It is. I don't think I mentioned anything about 10% ethanol fuel in this video or any video ever.

Stock. The car made 600+ same tune on a different dyno I have a video on that too
Great video. A couple of things to note for people looking to run water/meth or meth injection. A single nozzle location can cause unequal distribution. You may have cylinders that are flooding with meth and some that barely get anything. Also, when you tune around a meth kit and the meth kit dies, you better hope there is some kind of fail safe in place.
Why does everyone keep mentioning water meth? This video is for 100% meth not water meth that makes a huge difference. Methanol is fuel, water is not. Water cools, Methanol adds octane. But what happens when a fuel pump dies? Bad stuff can happen, once again methanol is fuel so it should be treated as such. I've seen more fuel pumps die than I have meth kit pumps.
Also, don't modify anything if you're not willing to take a risk of parts failing and catastrophic damage.
Did you use nitrous or c02 to spoil the turbo or does it spoil like that on its own?
No nitrous, doesn't have co2 but has on board air. That just helps it with better boost control putting pressure on the wastegate dome.

It definitely wasn't a fun experience, but I'd say it ended up being worth a day of being uncomfortable.

What upper pulley you running?
I believe it was either stock or 2.85 upper on this pull and pass, it's been 2 years so can't remember. But I tossed a cam in it last year and it made 697 on the stock upper 8.8 lower combo with e85 instead of pump gas

Is your ebrake on? It needs to be not set so you have movement in the cable. Pop it off where it's held on the hub then slide it off where it connects to the brake.

Mufflers are certainly where it's at. Ridiculous noise irritates the shit out of me. If your car doesn't make 2,000hp it should have mufflers. Converters too. So many morons delete converters for next to nothing gains. It's NOT a street car if it doesn't have converters. It's not 1980, companies make nice high flow cats. I'm playing around with exhaust right now. 2005 vert 750rwhp. Had modded LS7 mufflers, went to ZR1 mufflers....had issues with them blowing out which is very common.....fixed them and sounds like the issue is back. The baffle walls are just so thin. I have a new Hooker Blackheart NPP system (Z06) sitting on the floor waiting to go in. I also have unmolested Z06 mufflers with only 500 miles on them I just scored for $400 (seller even included the H-pipe) on the shelf for the future just in case I decide to really quiet it down.
I agree! I can't stand when someone brings me a car to tune with no exhaust and it's something like a 10-11 sec car too. My new combo in the c6 isn't bad sounding without mufflers but it's loud and you feel it now with the new cam and higher compression. But I still run mufflers 90% of the time.

In this video it's kooks with 3" dumps. But it still has the npp mufflers 90% of the time.

Need 342 gears and 28 inch tires
3.42 with a 28 is slower. I've done it on a few cars. You're adding a shift to the short track and you still get that big 3-4 shift drop. 3.42 on a 28 at 6800 is 142mph in 4th (no converter slip) 2.56 on a 26 at 7200 in 3rd (no converter slip) is 142mph. I have done 2.56, 2.73, 3.42, on 26s and 28s on more than one car.

Can you tell us what the car put down on a chassis dyno with the set up? And how high was it shifting/spinning to? Asking because it’s an honest 5-7 mph faster than most H/C/I LS3 cars. I would wager that your TFS 255 heads and custom can easily account for 3 MPH of that. Trying to account for the rest… DA, compression Etc. Just asking to learn since I’m a fellow all motor LS man. 🍻
That was several years ago, but it made 500 something in 3rd tq was over 480ftlbs. I've done a few cam only cars that trap in the 130s, so heads on and a few mph more is about right. Most cammed corvettes are pretty slow and tuned pretty bad. I did a header tune 1lt ls3 base c6 that went 11.6@122 on the street with a dragy in + DA. I've seen cammed cars trap low 120s. My chevy ss went 119 with intake headers and a ported intake manifold and that's a 4000lbs 4 door with the ls3. I had one c6 grand sport come in it was a pretty big cammed and he said he trapping 122-123. All I did was retune it, and it went 129-130 in the same weather. Trans tuning can really make or break (literally) how the car runs.
That being said my car has stock ls3 heads (unported not milled) on it now and runs 9.9s full weight all motor.

I've done 2.56, 2.73, 3.42s all on the same combo. The 2.56 went the fastest and quickest as long as the converter is right.

Is this true for cars that have a Wideband o2 sensor where the ecu can adjust ratios on the fly? I got WMI spraying before the supercharger (2023 F pace SVR) mostly for cooling. It gets 100+ F in the summer months. But, I'm wondering if my car will automatically pull some fuel out to prevent it form going to rich?
Honestly, that depends on how the tune is set up. Just because something has a wideband vs narrow band doesn't mean the full corrections are setup to pull that much fuel. It 100% could do it but doesn't mean it will do it. Some aftermarket ecus you can program that allowed fuel corrections, not sure if everyone oem will correct 100% or if they have a limit on correction.
Can you do this with just the power on?
The wideband needs to be on, so as long as the wideband is on with ignition on, then yes, you can.

Some people still think injectors, flex sensor, and sometimes a fuel pump are worth the money for 5-10hp on some NA ls stuff, so what it's worth is up to whoever is spending money. Meth injection can be worth well over 100whp on the right combo, but a mild lsa combo isn't the right combo for big gains.
A couple years ago tried m1 instead of 50/50 boost juice and was blown away at how much of a difference it made without any fuel or timing changes, it had to have been 5-10hp. The power loss comes down to what the air fuels were before you start injecting meth. For instance if you're already running an 11.5 AFR WOT on 93oct, once you start injecting it will probably go to around 10.5-10.0 so you lose power (more or less depending on nozzle size). If you have a stock turbo car with a factory ecu that will be probably the best mod you can do, simply because the ecu will adjust fuel trims and timing modifiers automatically
Correct, I explained that. It's a fuel you can't add fuel and not tune for it, especially when spraying the house down with methanol it goes so rich it'll lose power. Water meth isn't nearly as bad, but the gains from tuning are there 10 out of 10 times.
