What makes you think there is no population in Lake Louise? Where do you think people working here are living? Just because we are living somewhat remote in the mountains doesn't mean we can't have any amenities

Regarding the Egypt themed names: 1922 was the year Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered by Howard Carter, so I'd guess that was the inspiration for Wheeler.

Never a bad idea to bail if you're not comfortable. I tend to just try to put my head down and power on, but when you're solo it always feels a lot riskier too. I also find some of those steep paths or trails with bad skree to be pretty bad. Sometimes too it can mean you're doing it the hard way and there are better paths/trails to get to where you want to go.

Farms stores (Feldmans, Tractor Supply, I know for sure) and Ace Hardware stores all have discount piles and bins. Returned items, opened packages, discontinued items and generally lots of tools a person can use for survival at a discount.

We just received our passes and noticed the text warning about fear of heights. Wanting to see what we might be confronted with I came across your video and it confirmed what I thought might be the case -- it's not for me (or my better half)! That bit where you have to wait on the side while others pass was the final nail. I've cancelled my passes so that others can go instead. We'll do the West Rim Trail and Scout Lookout (and to show off: be content that we also got passes for The Wave).

great stuff, will check this when I need to change tips. I keep wearing the metal to the nubs and need to replace them soon. BUT This past weekend in east Sooke I broke a Cascade carbon pole (fairly inexpensive) right near the tip. It was still usable and a little pebble became conveniently lodged into the end. When I got home I squeezed on a wide basket and stuck a rubber foot on the bottom - extra bits which came with the poles. Will keep on using it.

Just here enjoying an evening of UA-cam, and the algorithm pops up a man pulling on a pole trying to get the tip to come off. 😂

Cool hike man. Neat to see you conquer your fears but I think it's also ok to be scared to do that stuff. I wouldn't be able to do that hike. If they need to put in chains or cables for me to grab onto, I don't need to be there.

Awesome climb. So, I think I'm like you with heights/drops/exposure/scrambles, but worse. I get panicky, terrible vertigo and end up freezing sometimes because I feel like if I move even one inch, I'm going to lose my balance. It's like all my senses stop working correctly, and when I start to get that feeling, I get completely incompetent, even at just standing. I would LOVE to see a video from you on things you've done to overcome this other than just desensitization. There are a ton of hikes that I would love to do, but can't - even just getting to the lake at triple peak has not been possible because of the little bits of exposure make my body and mind turn to jello. I'm not actually scared until my panic sets in. I don't really get scared of the height (I don't think), I actually get scared of the panic feeling and how it renders me incapable of being sure footed/balanced.

Love the videos! Just had a one week trip with the camper and my wife to Spruce Woods manitoba, tons of bike trails for the e bike, tons of wildlife, and we did the Hike to the "Devils Punch Bowl" and it was absolutely stunning, 3 hours start to finish with time to enjoy the scenery

Brutal summit man. Those falls are beautiful though. Gotta spend more time around Tofino.

That vertical trail up is to Boundary Peak i did it last july solo, it was a slog up that scree but worth it
