If memory serves me correct, 50 years ago the toe of the glacier was down at the parking lot just off the highway. I was a kid and my parents took us there and we played on the glacier, this would be before the bus trips . Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for your sharing your wonderful videos! I'm 67 and have lived a rough but happy life. After 13 surgeries, 6 on the spine alone, and a successful surgery for Renal Cell Carcinoma, and being blind in one eye from a Stroke.
I have been unable to hike for 10 years and I seriously appreciate keeping people like myself in your l lovely video outings!

I worked at those Ice Fields one summer and I did a trek on the glacier in a guided tour, you wouldn’t catch me dead on a glacier without a guide, you have no idea when you’re on an ice bridge and if it collapses you’re gone. Your hike and your photography is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Wow David. You are one incredible person. Thank you so much for this. Video. It’s a reminder that Canada is still beautiful.
I so look forward to your content. Exactly what Canadians want to know. Every morning I look to see moose on the loose notification and I know it’s going to be a good day. Thank you so much for your hard work.

The original horse trail went up, over Wilcox Pass as the glacier extended down, across the valley and was not passable.

No bears out there? Maybe not enough prey for bears at that elevation. Beautiful views, thanks for your video. What a wonderful escape from the city world.

bears have been known to cross glaciers so technically they can pop over but you'd see them from kms away

9:00 yes, that's a trail, but it's not an up track, it's a down track. If there is loose scree it's a fast way to run down a mountain.

I'm from Ontario 61 yrs old and my first visit to Alberta and BC happened just 2 yrs ago spent a month driving around I wondered how many of the peaks where climbed I did do a few hiking trials spent a lot time along Icefield park

I've been hiking and climbing in the Rockies for decades. It's pretty much impossible to find a mountain that has not been climbed; the only unclimbed things are some of the very difficult routes on the bigger mountains and even those unclimbed routes are becoming rarer each year.

its depressing visiting this glacier as an albertan. I went there when i was a kid , then went there 2 years ago and to see how much it has melted. When i have children this glacier will probably be gone.
