This will be a long conversation, but here are some general things to consider. It really depends on how you fish. If trolling, I would recommend a short rod (less than 6ft), so you can easily reach your rod tip in the constrained space. If casting, a longer rod allows you to cast further. But I wouldn't go longer than a 6'8" rod in a tucktec, given space can be tight. KastKing rods have worked well for me. Affordable rods with great quality.

Paid ponds or legal fishing spots?

@@JChanTV_youtubeHi, there are paid ponds along the Tampines area that I use to catch a lot of grass carp in the 70’s. I have heard from mates that they have been to Lily Pond, Kingfisher Pond and The Best Fishing Pond and these stock a veritable specias of fresh water fish. In the past we use to be able to get food and drink (makan) and had a good day out. Cheers mate. Harera

@@pierevojzola9737 yes paid ponds are fun too. I fished twice in the ponds in the northwest side. Sadly a couple of paid ponds have closed after the pandemic :(

I had the same issue as well, limiting my tucktec fishing to only calm days. The anchor helped to overcome this limitation and allowed me to have more days fishing the lakes

Yes that could definitely be an issue. There are different types of inflatable, some are stronger against punctures and others are not. Considering their price point, you would get a sense of their robustness. The Intex in this video is not very robust in this aspect

The lining on the sides are stabilizers. I believe there's a titanium rod underneath. They're sold on Tucktec's website, but they don't come included with the standard kayak.

@@jazzfeline5970I have the stabilizers . I’m talking the thin black on the edges ..looks like electrical tape . Was it stock that way? Mine didn’t have that

@@TRUTHandANSWERS It's a rubber liner. It makes the sides a lot more comfortable to hold onto and prevents scratching/if you rub your arms against the side. I have the most recent 2023 model and it came with the liner attached. I guess older versions don't have it.

Yes it is easier. But in life, it is good to have nice backup plans for unexpected events :) That said, there is still value to keeping things simple.

I’m still uncertain at this point whether I want to buy the Stryker 4 or the Deeper Sonar and perhaps a new video would help me come to a decision. One question I have for now is whether the transducer you’re using came with the fishfinder or was it a seperate purchase?

I will definitely make a fish finder setup and usage video, given so much interest from my viewers. I have given thought to what I would want to film and show in it. Would take me another 2 weeks ish to publish it (given it is busy at work for me)

Hi! Yes, the holder does quiver and shake when a fish hits my trolling setup but it doesn't pull the holder off. If you are not trolling with the holder, it should stay there, provided you clamp it down firmly. I would also advise using a shorter rod and lighter setup if you want to use this holder.

Good to know! Thanks for sharing the tip. Some lakes don't allow the use of live bait but others do. Will bring crawlers to places where that's allowed

There is a bait ban in all Canadian National parks. The ban has been in place for more than 30 years.

Yes I know that feeling! I was eagerly waiting for mine 2 years ago when I first ordered. That time it took about 2 weeks to get to me. Recently, I ordered the tucktec stabilizer 3 weeks ago and I have still yet to receive them. Tucktecs are now getting a lot more demand than before, especially during summer, so it will take roughly 2-4 weeks to arrive depending on availability of materials and the efficiency of their production line.

Ordered mine around Father’s Day and it took about a month

@@iwhite111 yes the wait is unpredictable! Can be long for some periods of time. I ordered mine for a trip in Banff, good thing it arrived just before the trip

It took me a couple months to get mine. I bought mine in the middle of the summer and I think they were pretty busy. They made some recent updates that made it a better boat.
