- Launched my tucktec in the Mississippi river, used a fishfinder to scope out where the fishes are at. Learned a few things about where fished are held up. They are across from the sandy shore on the opposite side of the river.
Trolled the river with a crankbait and had an unexpected catch. Wasn't aware that that species of fish would hit on cranks! Fun day :) - Спорт

@@JChanTV_youtubeEven though I think I more or less get the gist of how you setup the fishfinder from watching the other video, I would definitely appreciate a new video on the topic if you made one (and based on the number of posts about fishfinders on the Tucktec FB group, I’m sure plenty of people feel the same way). I’m still uncertain at this point whether I want to buy the Stryker 4 or the Deeper Sonar and perhaps a new video would help me come to a decision. One question I have for now is whether the transducer you’re using came with the fishfinder or was it a seperate purchase?
@@eriknorton8127 thank you for your note. I appreciate it. I only have the striker 4 cv so I dont really know how it compares to the deeper. I will definitely make a fish finder setup and usage video, given so much interest from my viewers. I have given thought to what I would want to film and show in it. Would take me another 2 weeks ish to publish it (given it is busy at work for me)
@@JChanTV_youtube Awesome, can’t wait to see it! I already assembled all the other mods I want on my Tucktec (including an anchoring system almost exactly identical to yours) so the fishfinder is the last piece of the puzzle for me at this point

Garmin striker CV 4, standard transducer. Battery is a 12V 7Ah wet battery around $20

I wana get this kayak because I drive a two door coupe. It’s more convenient since it would fit. How likely are you to tip in this when hauling in a good size fish? I fish for bass and striper so I’m a little concerned lol
I have not fished saltwater fishes before so I can't speak directly to that. However, having used the tucktec I find it to be extremely stable. Even if I am putting quite a bit of weight on the side of the kayak, the tucktec did not roll over and capsize. I have tested it on a windy day (20mph) on a large lake and still be able to use it for fishing (see my past video). I would however mention that my experience may differ from others as I am on the lighter side (around 150lbs). You would have to test it for yourself. I am testing it for saltwater fishing sometime later :)
@@JChanTV_youtube I live in California so we have stripped bass in some freshwater reservoirs. Just might pull the trigger and get me one then. Appreciate it man! Looking forward to more videos of you out on the water with it.

How do you hook up your fish finder on the tucktec?
I have the transducer attached to the inside of the kayak. It is able to shoot through the kayak. See my other video where I test the tucktec on choppy waters
@@JChanTV_youtube does the water temp stay accurate through the kayak?
@@HungryHelpings the transducer doesnt touch the water so it would only give the temperature of the air in the kayak. If you want water temps, then you would need something more complex that dips the transducer in the water
