Wonder if the 100h overhaul interval is a bit on the safe side? I guess it depends if it has seen 100 hrs of qualifying laps or 100 hrs of gentleman driver practicing ;)

I served my apprenticeship at Brighouse Cars in 1990 (which changed to West Yorkshire MG Centre) and I was trained as a classic car technician but my primary role was engine machinist and builder. I reconditioned and modified hundreds and hundreds of MG engines, including A & B Series and Triumph 1500’s. I loved my job and enjoyed creating fast road engines. The A & B series were a joy to work on, so simple to build and tune and with the right exhaust they sound great. Sadly the company I worked for closed down over 25 years ago and is no more, but I often wonder if there are still any of my engines driving round today.

Question about piston ring installation: do you lubricate the rings and the ring lands before installing them on the pistons? How about the piston skirts, or is the only lubrication the lube you apply to the tops of the bores? Thank you!

G'day boss Looks like you have interesting 2025 a head off you with many different engine builds . After 2 1/2 years of frustration and incompetence ,the last rebuild lasted 50 km . and 4 engine builders and machinest later I have found the right company. I watch Shrigley Tube which is all about Hillman Imp motors is there a dedicated channel on performance V8 Rover motors. Looking forward to your videos for 2025 ! Kit from down under

It's funny where life takes us. There was a time l couldn't have imagined spending New Years eve watching engine machining videos, but here l am. Happy New Year! All the best for 2025.

As an interested by stander it's fascinating to watch how you deal with these jobs/issues. I noticed you just picked the Lancia head up and flipped it round (obviously aluminium) I know I wouldn't be doing that with my Richard Longman cylinder head for my MGC!!!! 😂 Happy New Year and looking forward to more videos next year.
