There has been lots of stories about things been faked in this house, that been said, i have had experiences myself in other places, many times so definitely will not rule out that real ghostly activity does occur here! I would love to find out for myself.

I live not too far from this house,im in castleford, and i know a few people who have stayed and would love to do it myself, may do it for Halloween this year!

Im from Blackburn/Darwen so found this story really interesting especially as i am only a stones throw away from some of the pictures. Today i think it would be a 'crime of passion'. I do believe some crimes are fitting for the death penalty but not this one. I feel sad for alice and her family but also arthur and his. Would be nice if a few ppl got together and cleared alice s grave. Please show more stories from blackburn and darwen.. im not lost in a history rabbit hole!!

Poor woman she didn't stand a chance against the strength of a man. What a terrible death she must have suffered. Domestic violence has taken so many women's lives 😢. Great story .. I grew up living on hyndburn road in the 70s and people talked about that murder then …. Sad ending for poor Susan . There used to be an old small cemetery on hyndburn road too ? Anyone remember that .

It’s not uncommon for people with chronic pain to commit suicide. It takes a toll on your mental health. It is very isolating and exhausting. Even today when there are many medications that can improve quality of life for those suffering with crippling pain, pain medications are so demonized and so many suffering are not believed… that sadly it still ends up feeling like the only option for finally getting any relief. People can only endure so much, there has to be an end at some point.

Now the well house you showed us was and is a beautiful structure depicting what iv just mentioned . It was the then epitpmy of a sauna or water spay . but More for the past time it was a place where people with trubled mind or their relatives might bring such poor souls. to try help them find comfort or cure . yes cure for many cures are acrideted to such wells esp. here in Irl . were i live . and such wells or water features were often called LADYS WELLS . or our Ladys well . or saint Bridgets well or a local holy Person to whom the well would be dedicated . NOW . WHY wered the wells of spays so revered . Sometines the well or spay . was situated near a river whish supplied it undergorund and along the banks woud grow . witch hazel . hedge which had chemicels whis would cure eye sores of eye problems . for e.g current day obtrex will mention witchhazel in its content . and this is just one example. Also the sound of water running which is amplified in the this spay . would give a beautifu sound to the water coming into the structure and a really restful and healing ambience . hence it was a place of healing and the benches inside and the outer benches for people waiting theri turn to enter the chamber testifiers to the relevance of the importance to which these structures whee held in their day. I Feel its so sad that such a beautiful structure as this is left locked up and abondoned with its beautivul oken doofs and period hinging and beautiful stone structure . . conside Medugorge iand Knock in Irl. visited yearly by thousands of tourists and people willling to pay for small bottles of the water . O.Yea some would stupid but not if you were close to somebody deemed incurabel who had cured at Lourdes of such other scared place . SAD . SUCH A BEAUTIFUL STRUCTURE IS LEFT LOCKED UP AND ABANDONED SAD SUCH BEAUTIFUL PLACE IS IGNORED BY THE PEOPLE TODAY .
