I live in Accrington, apart from some noisy neighbours we have never had any trouble here. Calling it the most dangerous place of anywhere is frankly laughable.
Im originally from Cheshire and i moved here just over a year ago and i have explored all of Accrington and it is definitely not dangerous! This place has been forgotten it desperately in need of re generation after all we pay enough council tax! 😊
I live in Church about 1 mile from Accrington. I am fast approaching 83. I visit Accy regularly. I have yet to encounter any anti social issues from any towns person. We,like every City town or village have are share of eccentric people but I can in all honesty say that Accrington and its population is a very friendly and welcoming town.
I moved to Accrington nearly 8 years ago from East Durham. If people think its bad in Accrington they need to go to Peterlee in East Durham, I've not had any trouble here in Accrington
I know Accrington, having lived here for 20+ years. I always feel safe, but always cautious, as I am wherever I travel. I have travelled alone all over the world. Unfortunately, we have had a couple of high profile and very serious incidents. One I cannot comment on yet as it is still to go to court.
These Journalists are all out for sensationalism, I now live in Manchester but spent the first 30 years of my life on various council estates in Accrington. I have never found any trouble apart from neighbour rivalry. In the town centre there is hardly ever any trouble. I still visit friends in Accrington and love the place.
Very interesting video thanks for sharing. Normally the smaller towns are very interesting. But like you say when there aren't any entertainment places for the youth can pose a problem. Thanks for sharing Chris and Vicky. 👍👍
There is very little for the younger people to do nowadays. I know Accrington has the bowling alley and the cinema, but then when kids go there, they are congregating and becoming anti-social according to some people.
8:00 I used to park my ice cream van outside where that Pound Bakey is now. When the market was there and you could drive through the centre. Then it got pedestrianised, got to be a pain in the arse and without the market there wasn’t the footfall.
I was scared for the first day when I landed in Accrington @ 2021, I heard lot of negative news about Accrington but in reality I am really enjoying life in Accrington , town centre need to be more vibrant and should be a good shopping destination...
They are now. Was a time it was thriving and you could do your Christmas Shopping there on the High Street. Now it's all Charity Shops full of junk, Pizza and Kebab Shops, Bookmakers and Barbers. Poor management from the council side along with being unable to compete with Internet shopping. Also used to have good selection of Bars for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights but that's all near enough dead now too with most the Inns closed down.
@@CarlosGambino_22 I have travelled a lot and was in Bologna a couple of weeks ago. That made Accrington look and feel great! I happened to be there late at night walking from the bus to the train station, I was harassed and was told to watch my back.
If Accrington is dangerous what would you class Burnley as because living in Burnley there's definitely a lot more antisocial behaviour here than in Accrington from personal experience. Drug and alcohol abuse is rife in both towns though which obviously means high crime rates.
i grew up in London from 6 months of age because my Dad joined the Metropolitan Police but yes i was born in Accrington way back 1954. we came back as kids to visit auntie in Oswaldtwistle and my sister and myself always looked forward to our trip back 'up north'. we still talk today about the coppice (big hill overlooking Accie)..Trickitts ice cream from the market (never tasted anything like it down south) and the buses..ah the old Navy Blue and red topped buses which were the coulours of the Accrington Pals regiment who fell in 1916 tragically on the first wave of the Battle of the somme, HEROES ALL. never forget our roots never will. If someone offered me a trip to Accrington right now i will have my bags packed immediatley...on my way.
I have lived in Accrington/Oswaldtwistle all my life and I am nearly a pensioner and still do. I think this town is a great place to live and there are some lovely areas. Lots of friendly people. As for the closed/boarded up shops that is no different than lots of other places up and down the UK. There is lots of choice for somewhere to eat. Yes there a quite a few charity shops as well which I know some people don't like but I just love them as it is a great way to support them buy buying from then and donating to them. I think there are some worse places in the UK that you could live that are more dangerous. As for statistics they can be skewed to reflect anything it all depends on what they are looking at. There are so may lovely friendly people that live here who are willing to help you out without asking for anything in return. I would never move from here unless I absolutely had to.
I did my YTS training at Accrington College up Sandy Lane. Worked on the railways there whilst in the Blackburn Gang. My Aunt lived in Ozzy. Had some fun nights out in Accy. You've inspired me to have a visit to the town. Looking forward to tonight's premier. Get the log burner going and crack open a beer
I was a trainee electrician at Castle Cement on YTS. I self taught computer programming and used to write my own programmes on the ZX Spectrum. Happy days. Keep up the good work guys
@Pinkwhistle we are getting The Spectrum next month! Not the 48k original, we already have one of those, but it's a new model with the same rubber keys and same kind of build, but it has hdmi and pre-installed games. But you can still use it a normal and program your own games etc.
As someone who used to live in Accy in the late 80's / early 90's I lived there again in the early part of the 00's it's sad to see the decline of the town center. The town has been mismanaged a has sold out the leasing on beautiful of building to the likes of Costa and Wilko, Accy was always a market town leaving the chains to the likes of Blackburn. The Arndale has been in decline for the last two decades easily and not been able to keep / compete with the likes of Blackburn when it comes to stores, the rent / rates are too high for pop up businesses and the youth have no where to go beside the street most people that live in Accy commute to places like Preston / Leeds for work.
I think there is a lot of neighbour disputes, with loud music and so forth, a lot of petty theft and other petty offences. At night you will bump into gangs of youths and some do feel threatening, that's if you walk around long enough. But all in all, nice town, been here since I was born, 1970, and yes could do with a monster clean up and yes create a more village theme about the place, cobbled roads and such. Thankyou for giving that report in the paper a bloody nose.
I've lived in Accrington for about 3 years and again between 2003-2006. I'm telling you that it's no worse than living anywhere else. Yes the boarded up shops are an eyesore and probably if you came after dark it maybe different.
I live in Cape Town in South Africa. But I have watched a few videos which reveal that even places in the UK which have upmarket famous shops are closing en masse. I have heard that crippling taxes are largely responsible for these economic crashes. Unfortunately, shops are a go to target for people (especially young people) who need to earn a bob or two if they do not have a higher education at a college or university. These establishments are out of the pocket of the lower middle class or poorer families. For every shop you see which is closed you can imagine how many jobs opportunities are lost. That means not dozens but hundreds of unemployed and desperate people. Naturally this means an increase of petty crimes and drug use. Fortunately, in Cape Town and generally in South Africa shop premises are in high demand and as soon as a shop premises is vacated it is snapped up immediately by the next business owner. But our laws are far less intimidating and encouraging than those in the UK. I cannot say with absolute certainty, and I would probably earn a lot of angry comments if I did but maybe it is possible that a much fairer system and taxation should be put into place by the government to ensure a way for businesses which are the life blood of the economy to not only stay open but thrive. Yes, open markets which support the less affluent vendor not only provide more reasonably priced good to the average Joe Soap but they also add a cheery atmosphere and colour to a town. As for the burgeoning fast food outlets, there is a saying that all other shops and businesses may close but one essential need will always be there; people must eat. If you have a growing Muslim community in their belief system they cannot go down to the Pub and have a meal so they will open fast food outlets at a reasonable price for the community. Come one come all. That is why tasty chicken tikka masala is one of the all-time favourite take aways in the UK. There is a problem when the government establishment has a draconian policy to have absolute control over every aspect of their citizens life. This stifles any possibility of entrepreneurship. It is like having a teacher hitting you over knuckles if you dare propose another way to solve problems. In the end with a lack of innovation the progress of a country will not only die but rot. Unfortunately, at the base the average person can do little about these ills from their level. This is a global problem.
By the way an interesting thing in our small community is that a supermarket in our area had to close down because a small what we call Spaza shop was too fierce a competitor. Our cosmopolitan society preferred to go there despite the fact that their prices are often slightly higher than the supermarket. The hours they stay open favours the average workers time table and their friendliness seals the deal.
Over here in UK once a shop goes, very hard to get new businesses in due to costs. It's a shame that the high streets are not the sane anymore. So good to hear that Cape Town thrives though. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
Accrington, a dismal town between Blackburn and Burnley. I heard about two lowlifes from Accrington who drove to Clitheroe for a £1000 shoplifting spree in Booths.
We went on a school day trip to Accrington town centre. we were meant to going to Blackpool but the coach broke down. It was okay but it was a Wednesday.
I'm originally from Rossendale and I worked in Accrington when I first left school (many years ago) and I've never heard it described as dangerous. My friends and I often used to go there at night and never saw any signs of trouble.....it's probably just a bit of tabloid scare-mongering when they can't find any other stories to write about. The town has lost most of the shops it used to have but its still better than many others in the area. I now live in the Pendle area but I often go to Accrington to shop.
It'll be the people from out of town going into Accrington stealing and stuff just like they do in Rochdale and all other areas that are soft on punishment When they get caught
I was at work so I missed the premiere. Heh, Accy dangerous…. I mean, definitely not. It’s got its fair share of bagheads and wrong uns but it’s definitely better than Blackburn, Haslingden, Darwen, Nelson, or probably even Burnley when it comes to feeling safe on the streets.
Grew up in Accy. Primary, secondary, college, clubbing, first jobs. Left by age 27, parents still live there. It's a dump. Except to see parents I never go back. Don't know about violence, but it's dead. Why anyone would voluntarily go there is a mystery
Thank you for the video ,Accrington seems a charming place , I thought how lovely it looked, however I am originally from Lewisham …so to me Accrington looked like Cornwall 😊
good evening you roving reporters that was a very nice look around the most dangerous town accrington and some great people you had a chat with . i dont know where the news papers get there info from i havent had a paper for years i just got fed up with them just picking and thing bad never the good things they say things about the south as well but you can trouble wherre ever you go . well done chris and vicky realy enjoyed the varied films you do for us all all the best from trev and chris in east preston littlehampton sussex .xxxxxx
Moved away from Accrington almost twenty years ago, was a dump then, and it's still a dump now, It; 's a dead-end no mans-land But I would definitely not call it dangerous.
I lived in Accrington until 1990. My parents still live there. I worked on the old market too. I saw a lot of fights in the pubs at night, but more in Burnley. I was told it got rough because of out of work immigrants, and I did used to see a lot. So, I don't know. I'm an immigrant myself now. If anything, I would say it looks cleaner than when I lived there. And however it is, I have fond memories of the place.
Good fun that one Chris. It's very quiet there for a hot sunny day. I think the fact that it's the Daily Star reporting it is all we need to know. Shame, like so many other places, the town looks to be dying fast
I remember it being heaving back in the day. The old market was always buzzing, and the square where we spoke to a few people was always extremely busy. The councillors over the years have seemingly just let the town die a slow death. And it's sad.
I've lived on the outskirts of Accrington for 20 years now and its definitely not dangerous at all. I'm also a bus driver and drive in Manchester regularly and being totally honest with you, I'd rather walk around Accrington on my own all night than spend half an hour in Manchester on my own. Accrington has had quite a bit of money spent on it over the last 18 months and is starting to improve which is great. A little more TLC and it could be a thriving town and community again.
We personally love Accrington, for all it's flaws and closed up ships. It still holds memories from when we were kids and then going to college down there. It's just a pity about the shops all gone or going, as it used to be thriving.
Final say on the matter. I love Accrington, nice for a Wednesday morning out to the market or a pie any day from Mannings when it’s open. Also it has a traditional, if revamped, market hall.
Not sure where the press get these statistics from, most Northern towns face the same issues these days, but theres no way Accrington can be more dangerous than Manchester or Liverpool. To say that is laughable. Another great video Chris and Vickie
Many years ago on abbey street there was a lorry crash. It had lost control going past the fire station, the firemen saw it fly past and knew it was in trouble. They jumped into the fire truck and went to assist. I don’t know the dates, this information was from a patients family but what I do know is the firemen were in such a hurry they didn’t don on their fire gear therefore got reprimanded.
I live in Accrington and it is not dangerous. Ok you are going to get shoplifting and drugs use but no more than other towns. I have not seen anything alarming here.
What a load of rubbish, the journalists need to go to Rochdale if they think Accrington’s bad they would soon change their minds. Brilliant little video thanks Chris and Vicky👍
Cheers Judd. We were surprised when we read that article. We've been going to Acct for years and never EVER had any issues ourselves. Never even felt like it was an unsafe place to visit.
@@DaysofHorror Same here we are always there, my daughter is at college there and never had any issues. My son is in the GMP stationed in Rochdale and he’s told me to stay away from certain areas in the town as not safe to be there😳.
Yeah, I've never been to either towns, but the name Rochdale conjures up a bad image for me, whereas Accrington doesn't at all. I wonder if it was some kind of survey they did?
I used to say I came from Rochdale if people asked . Our farm was on the border of Heywood and Rochdale. Once I moved to Heywood I never said I was from Rochdale. It isn't the town I grew up in or anywhere near it. We only used to go in for the bank otherwise we went to Bury. Our farm was on such boundaries when it was first bought in the family that my Grandad paid different things to different districts eg rates to Rochdale, the others were Heywood and Castleton. The farmhouse was also haunted by a guy we called George. Apparently my Grandads friend said he died at the farm and when we knocked the old barn down to convert into our house we found a little jar in the wall that we always thought of his ashes. He became part of the family and loved to play tricks with me the most. I even used to say goodnight to him.
Hi both. Just purchased a Cap in Black with Orange Skull plus 2 Tea Mugs 🍺 👌 Thanks both...can't wait for my delivery. Good Luck with your Merchandise Shop both x 😊😊😊
Accrington during the 1960` and 70`s was a lovely little town to live in, but now, its needs a lot of work and money spent on it and for the people, a lot more unemployed and drug use going on, but dangerous - i would say no, but i would not wander around the town late at night.
We actually walked through all that area. It was mainly locals we wanted to talk to. But Accrington definitely needs more doing to it. Just last week, we were in town midday, and it was dead. Compared to what it once was, it's such a shame it's become a ghost town now.
I call bollocks to it. I feel Accrington is safer and less violent now than it was in the late 2000’s. I used to skate every night around that era and we had a massive scallie population that wanted nothing more than to start fights and cause trouble. I haven’t seen that kind of anti social behaviour in a long time. Sure, we still have young lads roaming around in groups. But it’s been a long time since I’ve personally seen any issues with them. It’s true, like you said that since the redevelopment of the town centre the town has started to decline. The old market was the heart and soul of the town centre. The old cigarette kiosk was a work of art and the fish mongers was a land mark I’ll never forget. (Even if just for the smell haha) Accrington is more vacant than violent these days. Empty shops, old closed down bars and pubs. It needs an injection of local pride. As a life long resident I can confidently say we want our town to return to its golden age. We want small businesses to fill the empty shops. We want a community that cares. The TLDR I guess is. I feel same walking around in the town centre alone at night. Accrington has been mis labelled in my opinion!
100% agree with all you say. I personally love Accrington and the people there. Journalists have a huge responsibility when putting reports out there, and with this they should really delve deeper and tell us what the real facts are.
@@DaysofHorror with regards to the vape shops though… You did miss probably the largest vape shop in the North West… The old fire station is now a Vape shop!
I’m from Ossy and I used to shop and drink in accy in the early 80s if that article was written in the early 80s it might have a ring of truth 😂 maybe you should do a video on how accy was a great place with dozens of pubs in the town centre but now there’s only 5 or 5.
just wanted to mention that i live just outside of bolton in farnworth and feel that bolton town centre is far worse tha accy without any doubt ,ive started shoping in bury and leigh now as towns got so bad.
We loved shopping in Bolton on most weekends but haven't been for a couple of years now. Is it really that bad now? It's such a shame as Bolton has always been good to us.
I'm from accrington and its only dangerous when people are at the night clubs alot of fights happen every weekend apart from that it's not dangerous atall
We enet early in the morning just to try and speak to a few locals. I agree that nighttime may have issues, like many towns, but for this video, it was more about trying to get locals to speak on camera and get their views.
I often work around Accy and always think it's such a shame it's got so deprived, like the other surrounded towns since the demice of the cotton trade where the towns were booming.. Accy especially has amazing grand buildings around the town centre, which remind me of some of the great old city centres across Europe.. Accy town centre must of looked great back in the day..the buildings are mega, with the balcony's and stone infrastructure.. like England's Rome 😂
20:00 was this young chap intoxicated? Come Ginger, my nemesis is stealing from the poor, bad mouthing Accy, not Hyndburn, Accy, and depriving me of a Sunday morning weatherspoons.
I love accy, we live in padiham and that’s supposed to be rough as well. I grew up in Folkestone in Kent and that was very very rough and dangerous. My kids saw stabbings and shootings and all sorts. I think it’s a nonsense that the nw is rougher. From experience with crime in both places the crime in posh areas like Oxford where the money is, we moved from there in lockdown, it’s far more scary because people have so much money they can pay other people to do bad things. I agree with you about the vagueness. It stops people coming to a great place
We did this video simply because we love Accrington ourselves. Okay, its been run down for a while now, with the shopping centre being overlooked by the council and a lot of units now unoccupied. But to say its the most dangerous town in lancashire is just poor journalism.
@@DaysofHorror it is terrible sensationalist journalism. That sort of thing does make a difference. We were victims of dangerous crime in Oxford and ran away in lockdown and ended up in padiham. That was three and a half years ago and the kids were terrified of leaving the house because then padiham was listed as the most dangerous small town in Lancashire. Petty crime there’s lots of, and domestic violence aplenty but you can walk about at kicking out time and never feel unsafe. We love accy, it has character and if it’s run down it’s because people in general don’t appreciate the amazing places they live in and yes choose to shop online or in that ginormous tescos…. Police horses are always in that car park.
Accrington may be a bit of a dump these day's but I have lived here all my life, I never see any trouble in town, people are very friendly. I go into town two or three times a week for a coffee and always end up chatting to strangers. I have no idea where the paper got this very bad review of Accrington from.
Accrington Stanley. Who are they? Liverpool and Manchezter have money invested in them. It's a shame town's are suffering due to big supermarkets. It's a lovely town. I'm a scouser bu5 great history. Happening all around the north.
13:50 this is a very contentious issue in the north west really. It might explain why the statistics nuances aren’t shared. You can say one thing but you can’t say another if you’re a national paper. If you’d care to take a quick look into the proprietors of aforementioned vape shops and takeaways then I’d recommend not posting your research results. Despite my previous comments, you’re in the town centre like V says. Take a wander over towards church and ozzy out of the town centre or go up willow house lane and take a left or right.
Last 12 m stats top 3, anti social behaviour just under 300, violence and sexual offences just under 300, shoplifting 100. Average cases 90pm. Seems quite high that or is it?
I was, born in Manchester brought up in Accy moved away 8 years ago. The best thing I ever did and that's wasn't because of gang warfare and other things 😂. It was alright town when I was growing up sadly its a ghost town now.
Never mind the cities, Blackpool has got to have higher crimes ( btw I love Blackpool) I’m in the midlands and from the open shops that are left you could be in any town down here
I 100% agree. We like Accrington, and regularly visit, just like yesterday afternoon. Okay, it could do with more varied shops, but other than that, its not that bad a town.
@@Daysofhorror-vickie Mostly pubs and over priced restaurants, a few takeaways within the town centre, but more outside in the communities. Shrewsbury not rough, like you said there is nothing for them to do, completely different generation, we made our own entertainment, down by the River catching minnows, on the rope swing across the river etc etc and not a parent in sight.
With working full time, we will only ever go videoing at the weekends and dependant on our schedules sometimes have to go early and on Sundays when quiet,
It's not dangerous, Mike, this is the issue. Accrington, like many towns, has its issues as we say in the video, but journalists should explain in more detail what makes the place dangerous. Plus, we went on a Sunday, but Sunday can be like most days in Accrington.
Is that derelict building near the start of the video the one you went inside in a previous video, where that cat was? On the subject of it being a dangerous town, I think it probably would depend who you are. For instance an ammerican gentleman on UA-cam I watch called john of new, (he was told by alot of physics in a previous life he was john the beloved but he likes to spread the message of living life loving,) he tells the story of going to Egypt and feeling very welcome everyone was very friendly. Yet he met another ammerican who was angry and a bit arrogant who said everyone wanted to fight him. Obviously because of his angry arrogant personality. Now you went to Accrington and everyone was friendly. But the other day I was watching a youtuber from Manchester who is very angry and arrogant. He would start arguments and fights with people on the street and when people would ask him to stop filming them please like a security guard at Burnley college and a vicar or something at a church in Blackburn. He would just go on about how it's a free country and he can film what he wants and then hurl abuse at them. Now if he went to Accrington there probably would be trouble
Was that Charlie Veitch by any chance? If so, an awful, AWFUL man. I can't stand him and what he does to get a video. Always picking fights with the public and those trying to do their jobs. I saw he did a video in Accrington.
@DaysofHorror yea I did actually name him in my comment but after reading what you put about targeting individuals I thought I'd better remove his name. But yea that's him I agree I can't stand him either when first came across him when I watched his first visit to burnley and he got arrested I was nievely on his side but after watching some more of his videos and seeing how he talks to people who ask him to stop filming and how he bullies homeless and 1 time where he interfears and stops an official of Manchester from giving someone a ticket for dropping a cigarette. I think he's very arigont horrible

There is very little for the younger people to do nowadays. I know Accrington has the bowling alley and the cinema, but then when kids go there, they are congregating and becoming anti-social according to some people.
Thx 😊
8:00 I used to park my ice cream van outside where that Pound Bakey is now. When the market was there and you could drive through the centre. Then it got pedestrianised, got to be a pain in the arse and without the market there wasn’t the footfall.
I was scared for the first day when I landed in Accrington @ 2021, I heard lot of negative news about Accrington but in reality I am really enjoying life in Accrington , town centre need to be more vibrant and should be a good shopping destination...
This is lovely to hear 😊
those British towns look so grim and depressing..
Gambino your name is Arabic decent from when Muslim moors occupied south Italy
If Accrington is dangerous what would you class Burnley as because living in Burnley there's definitely a lot more antisocial behaviour here than in Accrington from personal experience. Drug and alcohol abuse is rife in both towns though which obviously means high crime rates.
😂😂😂, I know what your saying.
i grew up in London from 6 months of age because my Dad joined the Metropolitan Police but yes i was born in Accrington way back 1954. we came back as kids to visit auntie in Oswaldtwistle and my sister and myself always looked forward to our trip back 'up north'. we still talk today about the coppice (big hill overlooking Accie)..Trickitts ice cream from the market (never tasted anything like it down south) and the buses..ah the old Navy Blue and red topped buses which were the coulours of the Accrington Pals regiment who fell in 1916 tragically on the first wave of the Battle of the somme, HEROES ALL. never forget our roots never will.
Love this comment, sums up Accrington just right. Thanks Julie 😊
I studied computer programming back in the 1980s at Accy College on Sandy Lane 😆
@@DaysofHorror I've got a working ZX80 I'm getting rid of
I'd keep hold of that! People pay good money for a working one now
As someone who used to live in Accy in the late 80's / early 90's I lived there again in the early part of the 00's it's sad to see the decline of the town center.
Good comments here, thanks Jason 😊
It is dangerous because there's potholes everywhere!
Now love this comment and agree, but think this is in most towns lol 😂
I've lived in Accrington for about 3 years and again between 2003-2006. I'm telling you that it's no worse than living anywhere else. Yes the boarded up shops are an eyesore and probably if you came after dark it maybe different.
😊
BORN & RAISED IN ACCRINGTON SO UPSETTING SEEING IT GO DOWN HILL ☆
Accrington, a dismal town between Blackburn and Burnley. I heard about two lowlifes from Accrington who drove to Clitheroe for a £1000 shoplifting spree in Booths.
This is where i live and was born .my hometown❤❤

👇
We went on a school day trip to Accrington town centre. we were meant to going to Blackpool but the coach broke down. It was okay but it was a Wednesday.
😊
I'm originally from Rossendale and I worked in Accrington when I first left school (many years ago) and I've never heard it described as dangerous. My friends and I often used to go there at night and never saw any signs of trouble.....it's probably just a bit of tabloid scare-mongering when they can't find any other stories to write about. The town has lost most of the shops it used to have but its still better than many others in the area. I now live in the Pendle area but I often go to Accrington to shop.
Yes, we pop in to Accrington now and again and definitely not what the papers were saying.
Colne, Nelson, Burnley, Padiham, Accy all still have reputations but non of them are as bad as some would think.
It'll be the people from out of town going into Accrington stealing and stuff just like they do in Rochdale and all other areas that are soft on punishment
When they get caught
Yes, I can see what your saying....
👍
Thank you for the video ,Accrington seems a charming place , I thought how lovely it looked, however I am originally from Lewisham …so to me Accrington looked like Cornwall 😊
Thanks for sharing and glad Accrington appealed to you!
😊😊 it's seriously not a bad place
good evening you roving reporters that was a very nice look around the most dangerous town accrington and some great people you had a chat with . i dont know where the news papers get there info from i havent had a paper for years i just got fed up with them just picking and thing bad never the good things they say things about the south as well but you can trouble wherre ever you go . well done chris and vicky realy enjoyed the varied films you do for us all all the best from trev and chris in east preston littlehampton sussex .xxxxxx
Thanks Trevor & Christine, yes every town has its own story.
Moved away from Accrington almost twenty years ago, was a dump then, and it's still a dump now, It; 's a dead-end no mans-land But I would definitely not call it dangerous.
See here is someone who has lived in Accrington and says not dangerous! Thanks for sharing 😊
It’s Surprising to see ‘most dangerous’ and ‘Accrington’ in the same title.
Yep, I agree. Just wish the journos could tell us more about the data and what it actually means.
@@DaysofHorror yeah
Thanks for commenting and sharing your experience. 😊
Its mainly rated dangerous as there was 1,887 offences of violence and sexual crimes last year and 1,932 the year previous
Thanks Mick, yea agre with these comments 😊
The Daily Star's a comic, not a newspaper.
💯
I disagree, it ain’t a comic, it’s toilet roll!!
That might be a story to have a look at 🤔
If that place is 'dangerous' I must live in a war zone!!!😂These so called journalists need to back up their claims with facts!
👍
I live in Accrington and it is not dangerous. Ok you are going to get shoplifting and drugs use but no more than other towns. I have not seen anything alarming here.
😊
Accrington dangerous,,,rubbish.
🤣 exactly
Take aways 😂😂😂😂some people call them money laundering operations😅😅😅
Yeah we have heard that 😊
Accy is heaven compared to Doncaster in South Yorkshire, which is one massive dump!
Thx judd 😊
I used to go Accrington with my girls when i lived in Blackburn
And did you ever think it was dangerous or be on guard?

Accrington during the 1960` and 70`s was a lovely little town to live in, but now, its needs a lot of work and money spent on it and for the people, a lot more unemployed and drug use going on, but dangerous - i would say no, but i would not wander around the town late at night.
😊
Completely missed the bottom end and much nicer end of Warner street where businesses are thriving and there are no empty buildings
(Even if just for the smell haha)
Accrington is more vacant than violent these days.
@magaz yeah, we didn't walk that far up but we know it well.

Yes sadly it's so.there have been one or 2 youtubers been looking around and they saying same.dont like going there if I can help it.sad realy
I'm from accrington and its only dangerous when people are at the night clubs alot of fights happen every weekend apart from that it's not dangerous atall
Thanks for sharing this info.
We enet early in the morning just to try and speak to a few locals. I agree that nighttime may have issues, like many towns, but for this video, it was more about trying to get locals to speak on camera and get their views.
Good video guys I always go to Accrington to do my Iceland's shop it is always quiet there x👍🤗
Yep same. 😊
Yes, totally agree and great comments 😊
Brilliant thanks 👍 Guy's Keep up the Brilliant Work
Many thanks John.

Moved here in February. To say that is more dangerous than Liverpool or Manchester is complete bulshit. You should change the video title mate.

Vape Shops, Barbers, nail bars in Shrewsbury
No take aways ?? Yep same as everywhere these days, but again doesn't mean ruff areas
Burnley, Lancashire is even more dangerous!
Doing the vlog on a Sunday isnt fair. Everything is closed and shuttered.
With working full time, we will only ever go videoing at the weekends and dependant on our schedules sometimes have to go early and on Sundays when quiet,
How can it be dangerous looks dead.
It's not dangerous, Mike, this is the issue. Accrington, like many towns, has its issues as we say in the video, but journalists should explain in more detail what makes the place dangerous. Plus, we went on a Sunday, but Sunday can be like most days in Accrington.
What a dump.
