      Thanks! The motor started to sound like the piston was worn out and slapping around. When he brought it to me we both thought it was just a worn piston and or cylinder. Didnt expect to find the cranks lower rod bearing was becoming sloppy and loose too.

    I just did this from watching your video. 🤘 Excited to ride in the morning! Helpful hint, you can do it by only pulling the rear brake lever, center clutch cover, and clutch assembly. It’s easy to get to the lever that way still, and you don’t have to drain 20$ worth of engine ice, unhook the PV, pull the pipe, or risk messing up that big inner gasket. Only have to drain the gear oil that way.

    • @UpAllNight91

      Hello. Wossners are good forged pistons. I cant say how they compare to wiseco but they seem very similar for the most part. I dont have a lot of experience with wossners and never used one myself but I have installed them in bikes for people. They are surely a pretty piston.

    Why did you replace he whole crank instead of just doing the rod bearings?

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91 2 дні тому

      I save rebuilding cranks for when new cranks are no longer available for that make and model. I have a few reasons why I choose to use new cranks. A new crank will hold true better than a crank that's been rebuilt. New rod bearing, and labor to have a shop rebuild the crank can often come up only about 100 bucks cheaper than a new crank all together. Today I know how to check a cranks true and true in a crank if needed but years ago before I knew how I had a crank rebuilt and the shop did not true it in good. That crank only lasted a few hours and it ate the crank bearings up and wore into the cranks journals. Maybe one day I will take the time to try to rebuild a crank myself but even then a new crank will still be the first choice because every time the crank is pressed apart and pressed back together it becomes a little weaker at holding true.

    The only thing you got to watch out for on gasket. Sealant is on 2 strokes. You gotta make sure you're using fuel safe. Because the fuel touches it in the crank case. And if you don't have fuel safe gasket Maker, it'll eat right through that s*** But if you get fuel safe stuff, you will be just fine and then you don't have to worry about buying the Yama bond. Whatever bond you, James, bond f*** who cares?Just get some.That's fuel safe and you'll be alright

    Dude no offense but we are not retarted so stop talking to us as if we have never seen the 8nside of a motorcycle engine before man. Shit like telling us what the timing mark is and what its for Jesus man thats for children not adults. I love what you're doing on your channel. As far as rebuilding these bikes, it just stop talking to us like we don't know what the hell you're doing like, we've never seen a motorcycle before. I don't know do you have a lot of years that have never picked up a wrench before or something, because that's the. Way you talk to us like we've never seen a wrench or never seen a cam before. Never seen a fly wheel or timing marks on the flywheel or know what they're for or what they do. It's condescending as hell. I don't want to stopwatch because I love watching rebuilds but it's hard to watch because of that.

    You know it would have been really easy to test and see if that thing was drawing too much amperage, just put an amp clamp on it and kick it a few times and see how many amps it's pulling.Look it up and see how many amps a new motor usually pulls and see what yours is pulling.If it's pulling too much then you know the pumps bad.... Another good way of testing an electric motor is just ohming it out.Seeing how many ohms you have across the windings?There should be somewhere in the literature for that pump.How many ohms it should be pulling across the windings?And if it's drawing more or less than it's supposed too then it is probably bad....

    About to put my top end together on my 2021 and was confused about the head tightening sequence as well Im just going to roll with the 50nm 3rd step too hard to accurately hit 180 degrees anyways with the frame and all in the way. Also when you pulled the primary gear did you just rely on the engine lockup bolt or did you wedge some pennies in the gears.

    • @UpAllNight91

      Hello. I don't know why they changed the torque specs to that 180 degree thing but since this video i have done all these like how KTM use to suggest, which was 37 foot pounds. For the primary gear nut i just relied on the top dead center holding bolt and that did the trick.

    Hello i recently took my spark plug out on my yz250f 2016 & was wondering do i really need to use a torque wrench to screw it back in or is it fine to screw it in for now to see if the spark plug was the issue and in a few days use a torque wrench to get it perfectly screwed on?

    Good video mate. I try & run my chain as long as possible so my wheel base is longer & with all our tracks here in Aus I have my fork height at 3mm. My static is usually 38mm unless I ride deep sand then I go to 44 & forks flush. Enjoy the yz! Sounds near on the same as mine 👌🏻👊🏻

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91 5 днів тому

      Thanks! I found my static at 38mm after the day of riding. Forks are currently at 6mm but thinking that might be the first change I make this weekend, thinking about trying 5mm and maybe more in that direction. The track this weekend will be sandier and good for that kinda tuning. 👍

    Great reward for all the info you have put out. Bike is sounding crispy clean. On the forks I've always worked on height, every bike is different but it seemed to me once you find the sweetspot the bike would steer flawless and even took away some arm pump after some distance. Bike is looking great, keep it up.🏜👍

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91 5 днів тому

      Thanks.For sure fork height is key for me too, That and sag, the pitch of the bike. Its surely a balancing act but once I get the sweet spot I can ride fast while not holding on so tight because the bike is more composed and follows my lead better. Its sure been fun and excited to get back on her Saturday. Counting down the days like a kid at Christmas lol

    Your videos are fantastic! Keep it up. I have been subscribed to your channel for a while now and watch all of your videos. You are a wealth of knowledge and I can appreciate the time and effort it takes to post them. I am a Vet rider myself and have been on the YZ250's for most my adult life. I have taken away so much valuble information from you. I am currently on the same 2022 YZ250 as well so these recent Up 2 Speed series of videos are right in my wheel house. Congratulations on the new to you race bike! Shout out from Alberta, Canada.

      Hello Todd in Alberta! Thanks! One thing I have noticed is the 2022 to 2025 has a different part number for the CDI. Its the first time they changed the CDI since 2005. I wonder whats different about it. I do know the 2022 feels like a different motor in some ways compared to the 2005 to 2021. I was thinking it was due to the air box but now that I see the CDI is different its got me thinking lol. Thanks for the support and coming along!
