I just did this from watching your video. 🤘 Excited to ride in the morning! Helpful hint, you can do it by only pulling the rear brake lever, center clutch cover, and clutch assembly. It’s easy to get to the lever that way still, and you don’t have to drain 20$ worth of engine ice, unhook the PV, pull the pipe, or risk messing up that big inner gasket. Only have to drain the gear oil that way.
Hello. How did the ride go?
Great little mod dude! No Bevis today but hear him out back.
Thanks. The shop door was shut and AC on but he surely lets you know hes there lol.
Thanks for the info, my friend! I'm going to do that mod as soon as I get home from my business trip. I've been getting false neutrals on my 23' 250X. I thought it was me the whole time.
Right on! This mod will surely improve that
More great information!!! Thanks for all that you do!!!
Your welcome!
Loved the vid, very informative and confidence building for when the time comes! Tks🐓
Thanks! Its friday, about to start this weekend!
Ok thank you for your help! Great content.
Thanks!
Nice job mate
Thanks!
Can you please do a video on using lock-tight, and your opinion on where and when? Smokers, strokers , clutch and ignition covers, shifter, internal engine, and perhaps how often you check bolts . I’m a woods and enduro guy for the most part but like your opinion. You keep making ‘em, I’ll keep watching ‘em
your bike's service manual says this
I think I can something together on basic hardware and thread locker... yes.
Good video bro
Thanks!
Wicked mod!
I’ll have to do this when I get in there to replace my clutch
For sure, totally worth it if your already in there.
Thank you, I’m tempted to do this. I run 75w oil in my transmission. I’ve heard other mention using 10-40 oil for smoother shifts, what do you recommend?
Have you used any aftermarket clutches?
looks like atf which is my what I run as well. trans just feels so tight with it
I use shell rotella 15-40. Almost anything will work though honestly. But rotella has a lot zinc in it which is good for metal to metal wear resistance. A set of clutches usually last me for ever so I dont have much experience with aftermarket clutches for myself but on customers bikes who burn through them we have a good success with the tusk brand clutch plates. They are priced well, fit good, and seem to work well.
@@UpAllNight91 thought i saw some red lol time to get my eyes checked
@@hiphopaDIZZL yeah this stuff i drained was red. This is a used bike I just bought so its not what I put in it.
There's another mod that involves a bit of grinding on the shift drum.
What does this mod do?
@@UpAllNight91 Helps alleviate the false neutral issue. Can't remember the details but saw pictures over on thumpertalk in the yamaha 2 stroke forum.
@@UpAllNight91 Apologies, it's not the shift drum but the SEGMENT P/N: 4EW-18185-00-00 One of the lobes has a depression and people grind a bit off the peaks on either side of the depression.
@@rztrzt Ahh ok. Thats to keep it from catching the actual neutral so easy. But that won't help the false neutrals that happen between 2nd-3rd, 3rd-4th and 4th-5th... thats where this mod to the spring works
So I have yz125 2003 is mine any good cause I have old kind round ?? An I changed my piston yesterday an numura pistons are dam good at 25 hours it looked good this is 3 piston I changed on this new cylinder so it has 75 hours how long will this cylinder last ? Upallnight
Yes your 125 has the round type and is actually ok. The cylinder can last for about 250 hours on a slow rider but maybe only 75 hours on a fast rider. Just depends on the rider really.
Okay I noticed yesterday that I'm having alot of vibration on chain an bike I sent video to my mechanic guy he said something is wrong to bring bike to him let him hear it he said a gear broke or something isn't aligned on clutch side so an another thing is when I took motor out last time I didn't put engine rubber piece in now it has slop when I lift bike up so that's my fault last time I took engine out he did noticed that 2 days ago I always have trouble putting clutch cover on so I take it to him he helps me like my mom says I ride bike one day then work on bike next day lol
@@michaelgarland579 LoL. For every hour seat time they need a hour in the shop. I think thats about true. They are high maintenance race machines.
@@UpAllNight91 I fix it upallnight ir was swing arm bolt was loose no more bad vibration I'm am gonna change swing arm bushings next week dam I'm happy an I bought this karma crank off of eBay
@@michaelgarland579 Ok sounds good!
Does the air screw on a yz 125 have a rubber oring?
No it doesnt have a o ring.
Does this mod apply to the 2022 yz 125 ?
It can be done on any bike. The YZ125 has a round type spring, so you would have to bend the straight tab of the spring in the direction to apply more overall spring pressure. However I can tell you the YZ125 really doesnt need this mod. The spring they use in the YZ125 is actually sprung well enough in stock form.
29mm? I’m pretty sure it’s a 30mm, same as the steering head nut, right?
I thought it was a 30 too, but the 30 felt too loose. So I stuck some calipers on it and it read 29. I then put a 29 socket on it and it fit like a glove. I dont remember them using a 29 before so maybe they change it?
