Hi I've just visited your channel. I'm impressed👌by the quality of your video contents.
Of all the things to be faithful to the source material
For something really scary - We Used to Live Here! Also, not *super* scary but one of my favorite horror books, if you haven't read it already - The September House!
Tell me, why is this anime non-color TV, please?
I guess to keep the "creepiness" of the manga in the anime and it looks good.
Probably to maintain the look of the original. In Prior adaptations of his work the color sort of took away from Ito's details(shitty animation in those other shows too but still the color didn't help)
It's literally the manga animated
the movie is coming soon you might want to read salem's lot
It’s random but..l really like your nails 😅
❤️🍁🍂❤️
just watched the first ep. and omg, this is revolutionary, a new standard for horror anime for me, they did junji ito justice with this one!
Not a bad list. I can't find Incidents Around the House here either, but recently bought We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer, which I hope will be good. I've been reading Horror since my early teens (now 50s) and find it really hard to find Horror to scare me. Most things are too gory or about abuse. I like old-school creep me the hell out writing. Lovecraft, M R James, Algernon Blackwood, Poe, Machen are my cup of tea. I like Adam Nevill. Penpal by Dathan Auerbach was really good, but I wasn't a fan of the end. For Junji Ito, I've read most of his work, and found Love Sickness really interesting.
No thanks.
Why not

For classic horror there is The Call of Cthulhu. by H.P. Lovecraft.
Where did you get that stand??
I WANT THIS SO BADLY WHERE DO I BUY IT?!
Shelving new books is both my favorite and most dreaded task.

You are so organized! Love your bookcases so much ❤
for both the apothecary diaries and my happy marriage, the light novels are actually the original source material for the story, while the manga series are adaptations of the novels. it is a little confusing because the manga adaptation will sometimes be brought to english print before the novels haha. i’m personally a huge fan of the manga, light novel, and anime for the apothecary diaries. even though it took me a couple volumes of the manga to get fully into it, it’s a really enjoyable read however you decide to consume it! i also like my happy marriage (though i’ve only read the manga and seen the anime). but not quite as much. the light novel for that series seems to be way ahead plot-wise, so sticking to that is probably a good plan!
although it was only printed in english recently, neighborhood story is actually the prequel to paradise kiss, so i highly recommend reading neighborhood story first! some of the characters there appear again in paradise kiss, so it’s fun to spot them and see how they are doing while knowing their backstories :)

that's soo interesting that the light novel was actually first! thanks for sharing!! 💖
might be a bit late for this comment, but neighborhood story is actually the prequel to paradise kiss (though the latter follows different characters), so i highly suggest reading neighborhood story first! some of the characters in neighborhood story also appear in paradise kiss (as adults), so it’s fun to spot them and see how they’re doing :)
ahh thank you for this information! But now I will have to wait until volume 4 of Neighborhood Story comes out to start reading so that I can binge the whole thing 🥺
@@ExLibrisKari oh goodness… my comments showed up in a diff video on your channel than i intended. sorry if you got duplicate comments from me!! 🙈 hope it isn’t too long of a wait 🙏☺️
P.S. YOU by Carolyn Keynes is a modern retelling of The Collector (in my opinion) and both are excellent and disturbing reads.
I agree that You is a retelling of The Collector!
I’ve read several of these books and my all time favorite is The Collector. They made it into a movie as well in the 1960s. Both are wonderful.
I need to watch the adaptation!
What an amazing ending of my day, watching your book collection!❤
🥰💖
This was fun seeing how you arranged by topic and then name. Jealous of your Donna Tartt collection. Might start one myself. The videos you film walking in Paris, reading in the cemetery, shopping in bookstores, grabbing lunch makes it easy to travel with you. Thanks Kari.
I'm so glad you enjoy the videos 🥰
I'm only at the 10 min mark currently, but I see an easy solution... move George out to his own shelf. Then when I recommend more Fantasy to you lol, you'll have a Fantasy shelf already to go! (assuming you have a free shelf somewhere else.) Edit: oh there you are pondering the same thing. Even though you're not keen on the idea, it'd free up a fair bit of space. Also, re Mona Awad, I keep her on my Lit-Fic shelf and not my Horror shelf.
I think sometime soon I'm going to have to make the move to a fantasy-only shelf!!
Casual videos and vlogs are my favourite types! Definitely keep doing these please 😊 Rearranging books is so fun yet slightly stressful (for my OCD brain) all at once! I have arranged my books in so many ways over the years, but my current setup is probably my favourite: Separate sections for Horror, then Soft Fantasy and Fairy tales and Mythology, then Hard Fantasy, then Classics, Sci-fi and Post-apocalyptic, Manga and Graphic Novels, Childrens, Nonfiction, and finally my Lit-Fic which I've sorted into my prior arch-nemisis - the dreaded Rainbow shelves. Did it for a laugh, and then realised that it worked beautifully for my Lit-Fic shelf, looked really pretty, and my brain just clicked with the colour coded visuals! I remember where books are just as easily as alphabetical sorting too. Any series stays together on the bottom shelf. Wouldn't do my entire Library like that though.
I agree that it is fun but also stressful!! Interesting to hear how you choose to organize your library, you have so many categories!
@@ExLibrisKari It has definitely made things easier for how my brain works! 😁
Of course I have a Hand of the King pin.DuH.😂 edit to add that Wordsworth classics are in fact, the worst editions

You should catalog all the books you own. I love these type of videos.
I bought a scanner last year to do that but I haven't gotten around to it yet 🥺 I'm a bit intimidated but I want to do it!
