We don't really have Halloween here in NZ either, but I've been reading Horrors for the month and got some movies to watch, games to play.
Just about to finish my 1st Laura Purcell book, The Silent Companions, and really enjoyed it. Right up my street, old-school creepy Victorian era stuff.
Read We Used To Live Here, and really enjoyed that, too. Also currently reading Alley by Junji Ito.
Fangs looks adorable! I do like Eric laRocha's writing technically, but he just pushes the envelope too far for me personally (one story about hurting a baby was too much for me 😢. )
I tried Ronald Malfi and Ania Ahlborn, but didn't get along with them at all.
Got The Reformatory by Tananarive Due in my spooky pile, and very much looking forward to reading that.

Have you read Chlorine by Jade Song? I didn't like Eyes are the Best Part, I thought it was kinda shallow, and it reminded me a lot of Chlorine but imo Chlorine does a lot of the same themes & ideas but with much more nuance
