Order 42 was originally conceived by Chancellor Palpatine in the registry of training directives for the clone army utilized by the Galactic Republic. This directive stated that one should immerse one's self in the creative and artistic endeavours of all member planets of the Republic to promote understanding and perspective.
This order proved so useful, especially in wartime, that Grand Admiral Thrawn, then a Lieutenant at the Royal Imperial Academy, adopted Order 42 as a cornerstone of his military strategies.
Um...yeah, I just made that up.
Order 42 is simply about friends discussing movies, tv shows, books, video games...basically life, the universe...everything.

I got to see SEVEN SAMURAI in the theater!
I couldn't help but notice that this is the best UA-cam channel that has ever reviewed any Ridley Scott film
While I appreciate the statement…man, there’s a LOT of great UA-cam channels out there. Maybe 4th best.
I haven’t seen it, but it looks interesting. I might have to check it out on a streaming service. It reminds me of another sailing movie. Wind 1992. With Matthew Modine and Jennifer Gray. I feel like that one is a hidden gem as well.
Yeah, I remember that now that you mention it! I enjoyed this one on that level. Hope you can find it!
Definitely one of his most underrated films, really gripping story! Here's my ranking of all his movies before gladiator: 1. Alien 2. Blade Runner 3. Thelma and Louise 4. The Duelsists 5. Black Rain 6. White Squall 7. G.I. Jane 8. Legend 9. 1492: Conquest of Paradise 10. Someone to watch over me
Nice list! Yeah, when I get finished with all the single reviews, I'm going to rank them (which will be difficult), but, like you, I'll probably have Someone to Watch Over Me at the bottom! :D
that Order42Guy seems to watch Ridley Scott !
Guilty as charged!
Daaaang boy, scalper discussion? I missed out some good talk last night.
Yeah, I mean…you never know what we’re gonna talk about! 😁
This is beautiful boxset sir . I have 24 bond boxsets on dvd
Whoa, 24? Like different versions? I’d love to see that!
@order42show mine is a dvd boxset version
Oh, I misunderstood! 😂
Dude, it is really well put together. Also, as a romantic comedy it hit all the moments. People are stupied.
Yeah, I just love it. I’m convinced that people just didn’t want a movie like this from Ridley.
Nice work. Your good
Hey, thanks for that!
The movie really could’ve been a series of episodes instead
Yeah, and…I guess it’s fine if you’re making a movie for a specific audience (the people who read the book it’s based on), but there has to be some consideration for those who aren’t familiar with the source. So many things feel skipped over…🤷🏻♂️
Thank you for trying not to taint.
No taint here! 🤔
The worst part is the dialogue, it's so pretentious and full of itself, not a single conversation felt natural. The worst Scott movie by far, though he also happened to make the movie the same time his brother Tony passed away and had to step out for a while.
Yeah, it just didn’t really work for me on any level. Couldn’t connect with any of the characters…many issues with it for me.
Richard Harris was also great in Unforgiven. One of my fav. "dark" westerns. Gladiator is awesome. Great movie!
Oh, absolutely! He had an amazing resurgence toward the end of his life - and so many from his younger days, too!
Dude you suck right now
Then…why are you here? Is there a point you want to make or do you want to try insulting me again?
@order42show sorry for my previous comment. You are very cool please forgive me this time. ♥️
I wouldn't be surprised if Topher ad libbed some of his jokes. I think he ad libbed a joke in oceans 11, when Brad is teaching celebs how to play poker, Topher was playing himself and he said "all reds" like he had just won
Oh, you’re probably right. Some of his lines were iffy, but he did make me chuckle a few times!
@ must be all the training he had playing Eric Foreman
Haha, you’re probably right!
I really enjoyed this actress in heretic from last year. I was planning on watching this when it came to streaming, but I like your recommendation. I think I’ll check it out while it’s still in theaters. However, it’s probably gonna have to wait until after I go back to watch the brutalist in IMAX. Any thoughts on that movie? Or maybe a coming review?
It’s weird - I totally get staying at home, but MAN, genuinely original stories, I just want them to do well! I have not seen The Brutalist yet - I do want to see it, but that is a big commitment of time (3 1/2 hours plus intermission). I also need to see A Complete Unknown, Anora…so many to watch!
@ Anora is my favorite movie of last year, and the brutalist is a close second. I got to watch a complete unknown at the Stars and Stripes drive in theater in Lubbock a couple weeks ago. Looking forward to your opinion on all three.
Well, ok! I heard Anora was awesome, but there’s just nowhere around here playing it.
*6 movie saga..... and 3 generic Disney versions 💯😂
Well…🤷🏻♂️
Wow! I have to get this. Thank you for theposting and OMFG the algorithm gave me something valuable to watch I can't wait to be able to redecorat my back bedroom into a film / retro gaming room
Sadness in the UK it's out of stock on Amazon and vol2nis 90£
Thanks for the kind words!
Yeah, you might have to check eBay or the like to find them. I did find them around the $90-$100 mark here.
You have to have seen things to recognize what’s happening. If you’ve never seen a dirty cop then it won’t make sense to you.
I guess I’ve just led a sheltered life! It’s not the first time I’ve heard almost this same thing. It didn’t connect with me, but it sounds like you liked it!
I'm going to up the ante. Working on a Prometheus edit as we speak. It wil be a 4k HDR og source edit with the 1080p deleted scenes straightly ripped from the blu ray and upscaled with a.i. to 4k. I corrected the continuity errors from the theatrical cut. Adding in the deleted scenes and will try to colorgrade them to the same level of the theatrical scenes. Adding in some other bonus material and I edited a new opening and gave the engineers a motivation for wanting to kill us. I think it will be the best version of Prometheus ever. It will be called Prometheus Magnum Opus and I will see if I can upload it somewhere. Any suggestions of where to upload it legally would be cool.
Well, that’s the real question, isn’t it? I’ve got no idea if there actually IS a “legal” place to put it, but I would recommend asking folks on the forums on all those fanedit community websites. It doesn’t matter where you put it if no one can get to it.
I couldn't make it through a second viewing. There was nothing to care about. Not even Laurita. It's a film where we try to imagine ourselves in something that far over our heads. For the exercise, and that's all.
I agree, unfortunately. It’s what Ridley has been accused of many times throughout the years, but it’s the first time I wholeheartedly agreed - style over substance.
Is that socks with sandals I see 0:22
Yeah, man, it was cold in my house!
Me and my dad seen it in 4DX it was good like you said went to fast
Yeah, and it just…ended? 🤷🏻♂️
Looks good Rob
Thanks!
Hi brother, you said you are going to review 'kill' movie. I have been eagerly waiting for your review but you didn't.
Still haven’t gotten around to it! But I probably won’t do a standalone review for it - I talk about movies I watch on the livestream.
@order42show Ok, Actually I suggest you this movie which have some reason they are (1)I think may be in first time this type of things happened about Indian cinema, within first week from release date of this movie one of the famous hollywood director hired right to , the remake of this movie. Because he knows this story can be loved by Americans people. (2)In toronto's International movie festival kill movie also allowed for premier show and 2000 western people in that hall and many are Americans also between them in that hall. All people gave standing ovation for this perticular movie and every one love this movie and in toronto movie festival kill movie became one of the favourite movie among all western, Americans people those who present there (3)Some Americans reviewer they are also give honest review about every movie like you (because everyone can easily feel who give review for express thought honestly about movie or give review only for increase views numbers) which of them some don't interested about Indian movies but they are also loved this perticular kill movie movie and kalki movie . Therefore I think you will also love this movie
Nice boxes, I’ll have to check out a couple of these movies. I’m very into martial arts films.
Oh, they’re really fun. It was so cool to see all these movies, but they’re definitely not cheap, so hopefully you can find them on sale like I did!
@@order42show That's why there's Kazaa

You completely miss that Gibson is working in a different medium. This was a Hitchcockian thriller. And it was great! I sense bias in you. Sorry you missed this movie.
There is no bias here - I really enjoy Gibson as a director, so I’m not sure what you’re speaking about. I’m glad you liked the movie, though!
@order42show appreciate your kind reply. I just think you missed the point and genre of this movie. It's not an epic. It's a tight thriller. Does that make sense?
Well…yeah! I knew that going in. It just didn’t feel like it had any of that Mel Gibson flair in the direction - I think I said it in the review - it was a paint-by-numbers movie from that perspective and felt “pedestrian”. And it’s not because I don’t appreciate the genre, either, because I LOVE suspense-type thrillers, simple premises, the “what-would-you-do” type of movie. Guess it just didn’t connect for me.
@order42show okay, i hear you, and you make a good point. I liked the camera movement, editing, acting, and pacing. Yes, there were a few weak plot devices, like why she wouldn't secure the knife after restraining Wahlberg. But they were necessary to keep the plot going. I guess I'm too easy on those points. My wife and I were on the edge of our seats for it, so we really liked it. It was also fun seeing Wahlberg in this type of roll.
We can agree on Wahlberg! I usually am not the biggest fan, but he was the best part!
I thought the acting was terrible. I walked out after the phone call scene. But Mark Wahlberg was really good.
I can see that. I feel like the script was…odd at times. Wahlberg was actually surprisingly good, though, I agree.
@doubleedge you just got that from jeremy.. you did not leave the movie… don’t lie just because we can’t see you on the internet.
@@brianclass1988 I absolutely left. 😂
I felt the same
I wish I didn’t!
always good to see rob when im doom scrolling
Haha, cheers!
426 trailers?! Haha. It feels that way every time now.
I watch a lot of movies and pay attention to all the releases, so...when you've seen them all before, it certainly feels like that many!
My friend, your videos talking about DVDs are incredible!Congrats from Brazil🙌🙌
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Impressive

😁
I'm planning on seeing it. Will it be too intense for my kids? I saw a few interviews with Mel since he's been in the news for various reasons. He said it's a quick ride popcorn movie. He even showed up surprising the preview audience telling them to unplug and have a good time and that they wouldn't be there long. I think he was in good spirits considering his home just burned to the ground and he lost almost everything.
Yeah, those L.A. fires were so devastating, it was painful to watch. Maybe I’m feeling more empathy in my old age. It is rated R, so it’s got quite a lot of language and violence. There’s also some sexual talk that might be uncomfortable to discuss with them.
There’s some good stuff coming out this year. I’m looking forward to running man. One more movie not mentioned: Mortal Kombat 2
Yeah, Running Man should be interesting! And yeah, the MK movie that came out during the pandemic was…not great. We’ll see about 2!
Good idea, I'm going to watch more movies in theaters this year too. Not sure if I will see this one though, especially if it's mediocre.
Yeah…maybe wait for something a bit better. 😬
GREAT MOVIE
Talk about taking the "true" out of true crime, and I will never watch such that Netflix ever has anything to do with again. The people this centered around are clearly lying about many things, it's laughable how disingenuous they are. I suppose the Zodiac has entered Jack the Ripper territory, simple folklore rather than a cold serial killer case that could still be cracked. I wonder which of these rednecks will write a book to take further advantage.
To add, "Connie" is an absolute liar on par with alien abductees or Bigfoot sighters, the fact she was presented as a reliable witness in a documentary like this is embarrassing. They can clean her up as much as they want, I know a drunk when I see one.
Yes.
Agreed!
He was menacing in True Romance and Things to do in denver when you're dead
Oh, for sure, but there was a sort of unhinged reality that I got from his performance here that shook me. It also made me realize that I’d been sleeping on his earlier performances. What a great actor!
Excellent review! For some reason, this is the first time I've seen one of your videos, and I am now a subscriber! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Appreciate the kind words!
Yes, you can't top the 1941 version. It's so well scripted and every thing just was so good. 2010, wasn't bad. This was no characterization. Visual effects and clarity cannot save this picture
I wouldn’t say NO characterization…just no real pay off. All it really did is make me want to watch the other (superior) versions.
Excellent review! I saw the movie too and was also excited beforehand. I felt like this movie fell flat on ALL facets unfortunately, and the "Wolf Man" was nothing to do with any wolves or "Wolf" man. It was more like some cursed or diseased beast. I think that the 1941 "Wolf Man" and 2010's "The Wolfman" were both masterpieces compared to this one
Thanks for the kind words! I felt like there were some real missed opportunities when it came to the emotional punch. It just kind of…ended.
@order42show Question for you. Does this 4k also come with a digital download code? Just curious
We were talking about acting like a wolf in your latest stream video. Synchronicity. Never heard of this movie but will check it out.
Yeah, weird, isn’t it?
@@order42show Synchronicity events - Chasing the unknown or a Order42 video 👍
Hopefully soon!!
@@order42show Just saw it and I agree with it being mediocre. It was basic. My favorite part was the truck crash. That was a cool scene.
I actually thought that it was well-made on a technical level, and some really well-thought out scenes (husband’s POV transitions). But…yeah, unfortunately nothing that would make me go back to it.
I'll check it out when it streams ( probably be like 2 or 3 wks) I might like it, love creature fearures, especially werewolf movies 🐺
Yeah, I wonder if people will be like “what are you saying, this was GREAT”. It just didn’t hit. Hope you like it though!
@@order42show most of the reviews I've seen are similar to what you are saying
I was looking forward to this one as well! Sad to hear it wasn't as good as it could have been. Nice to know though, that I can wait on it.
Yes, sir, it kinda bums me out. It’s just…fine.
This isn't Minecraft
There was a forest though…?
Where does one get the password from to be able to download this fan edit?
Well, it’s been a LONG time, but…there is a link in the description. From a previous comment: toward the bottom of the page there are different buttons (Fanedit Info, Release Info). Click video, and the password you need is right there. It’s been two years since I did this review, so i have no idea if it’s still available.
You are a nice guy Rob, and a cool one, but my new motto is to not be nice and a mouse, but more like a wolf 🐺
I don’t know what that’s in response to, but I just try to treat people the way I want to be treated. 🤷🏻♂️
@@order42showin the beginning you were talking about road rage. I agree to act cordial in most cases, but me personally, I can be overly nice.
@derrickj925 Ahhh, ok - yeah, I used to let things bother me to a ridiculous level, and I would scream and rage on those old audio blogs I used to do. I still do get angry driving from time to time, but I’m much more balanced now. I do try to think the best of people, but…it doesn’t always work. 😁
@ You seem to be always trying to improve which is a great trait. I’ve been trying to learn how to switch gears in better fashion as well.
