- Directed by Mel Gibson, Flight Risk tells the story of a pilot who transports an Air Marshal accompanying a fugitive to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem. The movie stars Michelle Dockery, Mark Wahlberg and Topher Grace.

I thought the acting was terrible. I walked out after the phone call scene. But Mark Wahlberg was really good.
I can see that. I feel like the script was…odd at times. Wahlberg was actually surprisingly good, though, I agree.
@doubleedge you just got that from jeremy.. you did not leave the movie… don’t lie just because we can’t see you on the internet.
@@brianclass1988 I absolutely left. 😂
I wouldn't be surprised if Topher ad libbed some of his jokes. I think he ad libbed a joke in oceans 11, when Brad is teaching celebs how to play poker, Topher was playing himself and he said "all reds" like he had just won
Oh, you’re probably right. Some of his lines were iffy, but he did make me chuckle a few times!
@ must be all the training he had playing Eric Foreman
Haha, you’re probably right!
426 trailers?! Haha. It feels that way every time now.
I watch a lot of movies and pay attention to all the releases, so...when you've seen them all before, it certainly feels like that many!
Me and my dad seen it in 4DX it was good like you said went to fast
Yeah, and it just…ended? 🤷🏻♂️
I'm planning on seeing it. Will it be too intense for my kids? I saw a few interviews with Mel since he's been in the news for various reasons. He said it's a quick ride popcorn movie. He even showed up surprising the preview audience telling them to unplug and have a good time and that they wouldn't be there long. I think he was in good spirits considering his home just burned to the ground and he lost almost everything.
Yeah, those L.A. fires were so devastating, it was painful to watch. Maybe I’m feeling more empathy in my old age.
It is rated R, so it’s got quite a lot of language and violence. There’s also some sexual talk that might be uncomfortable to discuss with them.
Good idea, I'm going to watch more movies in theaters this year too. Not sure if I will see this one though, especially if it's mediocre.
Yeah…maybe wait for something a bit better. 😬
You completely miss that Gibson is working in a different medium. This was a Hitchcockian thriller. And it was great! I sense bias in you. Sorry you missed this movie.
There is no bias here - I really enjoy Gibson as a director, so I’m not sure what you’re speaking about. I’m glad you liked the movie, though!
@order42show appreciate your kind reply. I just think you missed the point and genre of this movie. It's not an epic. It's a tight thriller. Does that make sense?
Well…yeah! I knew that going in. It just didn’t feel like it had any of that Mel Gibson flair in the direction - I think I said it in the review - it was a paint-by-numbers movie from that perspective and felt “pedestrian”. And it’s not because I don’t appreciate the genre, either, because I LOVE suspense-type thrillers, simple premises, the “what-would-you-do” type of movie. Guess it just didn’t connect for me.
@order42show okay, i hear you, and you make a good point. I liked the camera movement, editing, acting, and pacing. Yes, there were a few weak plot devices, like why she wouldn't secure the knife after restraining Wahlberg. But they were necessary to keep the plot going. I guess I'm too easy on those points. My wife and I were on the edge of our seats for it, so we really liked it. It was also fun seeing Wahlberg in this type of roll.
We can agree on Wahlberg! I usually am not the biggest fan, but he was the best part!
