I randomly happen to search for a retrospective review of Body of lies. And you uploaded it just 2 days back. Sadly the movie is really underappreciated ( the lack of discussion around the movie is an evidence). For me its one of the best espionage movie. Strong points: *Difference of work culture of US and jordanian intelligence *Really grounded spy movie *I didnt who mark strong was before this, so i genuinely thought Hani Salam was played by a middle eastern actor. *Day in life of a field agent ( kill the partner, if they get caught)
I wholeheartedly agree! If I hadn't known that Mark Strong was British, I would've thought the same! It definitely immerses you in the world and makes you believe I did read some criticism of the movie saying that the geography in some scenes (since they're using Morocco for most of the countries!) is off, but that's sort of a nitpick to me. I think they did an EXCELLENT job of building out the world for the story they were telling! And you're right - other than the "how much can this one man take?" sort of thing, it was very grounded, and I appreciated that. Thanks for checking the review out! It's why I love reviewing some older movies from time to time - you get to have conversations that wouldn't otherwise happen!
Did you see that Ridley article (that someone _AWESOME_ posted on the Discord) in which Ridley credits Michael Mann for telling him to work with Crowe?
