    Cool setup, man!! One thing, on 13:05 you use XPresso to transfer pos/rot from the source object to the child, but there's a Constraint tag that does just the same thing. You put it on a child object, hit Transform and then select the source object. It will transfer PSR from one object to another. Just fyi, not to mock or something :)

    • @gillesdillenseger6472
      @gillesdillenseger6472 11 днів тому

      @@FLXD I usually go with Xpresso for this type of constraint right from the start, especially since I might need more control over PSR later on. I prefer keeping everything in a single tag rather than managing a separate constraint tag. Having both simultaneously can quickly turn into a priority headache, so it's more of a workflow habit for me.

    • @gillesdillenseger6472
      @gillesdillenseger6472 16 днів тому

      Yes, it’s possible to export the animation as an Alembic file. However, this isn't suitable for real-time use, as Alembic files are quite large since they store the entire mesh for each frame. This approach would work if you're planning to export the result as a video. As for the shader, you can open the C4D file in Unreal, and the shaders should transfer, but I'm not certain how well they will translate. Some adjustments may be required.

    Bonjour Gilles, je me permet d'écrire en Français. Merci pour tes 3 méthodes. Par contre j ai un soucis que je n arrive pas a régler. je voudrais faire un éclaté d'un objet que j ai modélisé. le soucis que je trouve a chaque fois c est qu'il m explose littéralement mes objets, même quand ils sont groupé et même quand j'utilise par exemple un booléens. C est ennuyeux car je n ai pas de contrôle sur la structure des objets qui serons éclaté. Je sais pas trop si c'est clair mais apparemment quand j utilise par exemple un booléens et bien il me remet tout les objets qui le compose. Genre je modelise une portière de voiture, je fais un booleens par assembler la portière et les vis et bien il m'éclate tout alors qu' je voudrais que la portière plus les vis ne forme qu un seul objet dans mon éclaté. As su une solution ?

But yeah you go at a decent speed, you skip a few settings at the start so it was confusing. But it requires you to pay attention. Definitely not for a beginner but thats exactly what I want. The new particle system is really robust and I'm kind of blown away and intimidated by it. But I guess this means less Houdini.

    at the 5 minutes mark. What if I don't have redshift? How do I apply the water droplet on to the mesh?

    • @gillesdillenseger6472
      @gillesdillenseger6472 Місяць тому

      If you're using the native C4D renderer, I recommend using a cloner to replicate the geometry directly onto the particle groups instead of using the Redshift tag.

    WoW! Insightful tutorial. I have one question at end when I am switching object why droplets are not detaching, I see trail is still travelling. it's working fine with sphere tho 👀

      Thanks for your feedback! Just to confirm, did you make sure that no polygons are selected in your new object? If any are selected, what's happening in the detach null won't work properly

    phenomenal use of the particle system, as someone just learning this I am curious to know if there's a way to freeze the particles at a point in time to use for a product render without needing to run the whole sim again? Thanks.

      Hi, thanks for your comment! To freeze the particles at a specific frame, first bake the simulation as shown here : ua-cam.com/video/USY6GFOXf0M/v-deo.htmlsi=cJdROpKlOsfFLrxp&t=2108 Then, go to the cache tab, uncheck "Use Animation," and just below that, select the frame you want.

    Love the tutorial, whenever i set it up following the steps very carefully, the particles doesn't seem to turn exactly at 45 degrees, it seems to be a slight amount of variation to the turn amount and not an exact 45 degree turn all the time for some reason. I know they updated some of the particle default values so it might be something out of whack there.

      Hey, sorry for my late response. I encountered a similar issue while working on this setup, but I was able to fix it by adding the Y constraint using the math object. see here : ua-cam.com/video/F0HqJiFJ4cI/v-deo.htmlsi=b-SHz5o9x7hDkMtc&t=68 If you've already tried that, it should work, but if not, I'm not sure what else might be causing the problem. Let me know how it goes!

    First I want to thank you for this incredible tutorial, I have been studying Cinema 4D since the beginning and I love expanding my knowledge, I have a small problem, I can't find the "Mesh Emitter" I have installed the particle environment that you left in the description but I can't find it, I have version 2024.1. 0 is it normal that it doesn't appear? Does the "Emitter" work the same as the "Mesh Emitter"? Thank you very much, greetings from Argentina! 💜

    Hi, first of all, thank you so much for this amazing tutorial, this is really awesome. I have a problem at 3:43, when I make the linear field, all the things don't explode like they should in the inherit, the just all go to x:0 y:0 z:0 once the linear field touches them, do you have an idea why that could be?

    • @Jon-Jon-Jon-Jon
      @Jon-Jon-Jon-Jon 2 місяці тому

      Okay, to be honest I'm not really sure what I did differently but now it's working. I played around a bit with the order of clicking the fracture start and fracture end, and the sequence of the "inheritance / fracture start / fracture end" objects, and somehow it worked. Mabe this can help someone struggling with same thing.

    God almighty, thank you for this tutorial, I would love to see more content like this as there is very little of this quality on UA-cam, especially on Cinema 4D and Particles. I'm shocked at how you were able to put together such an assembly from memory with almost no problems. I'm very glad your video is online. Keep it up Brother, I'm glad you're here. Good luck !
