You can do manual focusing by loosening the screws connecting the ZWO EAF shaft. Then it is easier to set the initial focus and tighten the screws.

I thought Stelarium had a feature where you could be out in space, you could see the ISS, close ups of planets, moons... How can you change from the backyard (ground) view to being out in space? I want to see where the JWST is floating!

Thanks. I added my very cluttered and light polluted backyard to Stellarium, which is a game changing feature for planning AP sessions. Although I was able to adjust the position of Polaris on the horizontal X- axis, the latitude Y-axis is off by about 12 degrees. Is there a line of code for the *.ini file that will adjust the vertical axis? Thanks again for you video.

I just finished a shoot and it looked like I went from astrophotography to biology - the stars looked like cells (bloated)😅 I have to delete it all 😢 I don't think i focused it well enough and the exposures might have been too long (3 min). But I didn't skip the calibrations!

Found this very difficult to follow. Just wanted to add MY site to stellarium. Why bring Google into it? Finally figured out it's a 6 step process if you take your own pano. Amy Astro provides the best video but it's a bit long winded and non succinct.

i just got a SA GTi and i always dither cuase the first time i used it in a very dark location in the summer it ruined the same exact target for me with walking noise. I dither manually with the GTi SynScan App moving the frame every 10 to 20 images and it works great i dont really need any more dithering than that usually, although i dont got for super long exposures yet cause im working and dont have days off to spend a full night imaging, i just go for like 2 hours total integration time on like 2-3 min subframes dithering every 40 mins roughly.

just got asiair plus using it on eq6-r pro mount bought usb to rj45 mod cable but want to know what all need to do on guide camera connection i know have connect to asiair plus comport but do need to connect it to guider port on the mount?

A better option for the rail is the SVBONY SV219 120mm rail. It is both shorter and lower price than the rail you used. It allows me easy access to the battery compartment and allows the camera to be rotated at any angle to frame my images.

Please help! I purchased a polarie from eBay and it didn't come with a mounting block. I can't find a replacement either. I did find some for adapting a dovetail that I think replace the default mounting block but I have no clue what dovetails I need or how to attach a ballhead mount to a dovetail or if I even need one with a dovetail. All I want is to get amazing timelapses that show the earths rotation :D

Hey Daylon, I'm trying to use my Sigma 18-35mm lens with my ZWO294mc pro camera to shoot the meteor showers coming up. (I typically only do deep sky shooting.) I want to affix the above to my Skywatcher EQ-6 mount and use the Plan mode in my ASIAIR to shoot in the early morning hours. The problem is I'm not sure I have all the right connector parts and adapters. I have a metal plate that I can attach to the EQ mount and I have a filter wheel that will attach to my lens BUT 1) I can't find the right attachments for coupling the lens assembly to my 294 and 2) I don't know how to attach the whole assembly to the plate. Can you advise? Thanks in advance!

Hi Daylon, your videos have saved my sanity after changing from mini pc set up to asiair set up ( still Keeping the former set up, there is a way to make your iPad or iPhone to turn the screen Red by pressing the home button 3 times ( I’ll post a link on how to do this), I have a Pegasus advance and a game changer is the auto dew control using the sensor ( you mentioned it as I was typing ! ) I’ve changed the original 3 or 4 dbi WiFi aerial to a one with higher 10 dbi rating so I don’t get WiFi drop outs , it’s black and red so matches the red ZWO gear too! I agree with you about the landscape , I use my own user defined landscape in Stellarium ( in fact I have a few made). I wish the planetarium software also kept DSO objects displayed and allow the user to switch on and off catalogs - messier, NGC, for example. The same goes for constellation lines being kept on. One thing I’d like you opinion on- in sequence generator pro when the session is finished you have to warm the cooled camera up before turning it off as it could “ shock” the camera ( subsequently damaging it) asiair doesn’t have this option to allow the camera to warm up. Great video Daylan, very clear and understandable. Maybe a dumb question to ask but how do you apply the Flat/Dark frames to your Light frames? I currently exploring the ASIStudio package and I cant see how this is achieved there at all. Is it even possible using ASISudio?

Is there a way to tackle the counterweight problem? I have this star tracker and I want to start capturing deep sky objects with my long lens. I'm just not sure whether I want to pursue this, so before buying a new star tracker. I want to try it with the one that I already have.
