  • In this video, I chopped up a recent livestream to focus only on the ZWO 2600 Duo, just in case you missed it! Yes, that's what the ICYMI is for. I think the information is still valuable for those looking into the Duo, so I figured I focus on just those sections! Please do swing by on a future live stream!

    I just bought a ZWO Camera dew heater. I also had to get fine spacers to reset my back focus.

      Nice, how's the dew heater been treating you?

    Ya by default yo need that dew heater on for the sensor window.

      Yeah that night with the dew was pretty humid. In hindsight, not the best night to be tearing the scope apart multiple times to change parts....but, got it figured out lol!

    Hi, interesting review. I am in the market for a new camera and this may be my next one. One point, it may be a bit heavier, but you potentially can get rid of your guidescope or OAG. Most likely a net decrease in total rig weight.

      Totally agree, especially in setups with large refractors using a small refractor for guiding.

    Great video!! Did you have to adjust sensor tilt or is back focus the main thing to pay attention to?

    • @AstroEscape
      @AstroEscape  11 місяців тому

      Back focus is more the main thing. On the scope it was on, the camera wasn't weighing it down too much, so tilt wasn't a problem. Either way, I still stand by making sure your back focus is good with it. If the back focus is good for the main camera, the guide camera won't have problems 😀

    I was thinking about getting the duo or 6200 when I get the money saved for it, but for right now I'm having a hard time deciding a zwo camera for a 288mm FL scope. I was thinking the 533mc so when I move to larger scopes then it would work. But the 183mc has such small pixels and is perfect sampling. I need help please!

      Did you make up your mind? If so, what did you get. Both the Duo and the 6200 are great cameras. But, keep in mind that pixel scale does fluxuate based on atmospheric conditions.

    I have the 2600MC non duo. I have the same problem with the dew build up if I run it at 0 to -10 its really bad. I've been using leavine it at around +20 to +30. What's the correct way to get it to lower temperatures to reduce noise wtihout the dew? Thanks

      The original also has a dew heater in it. I'd turn it on and leave it on. You can find the toggle in camera settings in the AIR app.

    What dew heater are you talking about? Is it dew at the front of the telescope or on the camera?

    • @AstroEscape
      @AstroEscape  3 місяці тому

      Dew on the camera, and the internal dew heater. I should have had it on the whole time.

    Does this ZWO 2600 DUO work well with Newtonian Quatro 6"?

    • @AstroEscape
      @AstroEscape  3 місяці тому

      My concern for a Newtonian is that the weight of the camera might not be good for the focuser. But otherwise, it should work.

    How come you were guessing at the back focus? Is the value required not listed in the manual? What is the back focus 55mm?

    • @AstroEscape
      @AstroEscape  11 місяців тому

      I sum it up to a bit of a brain fart. Not sure why I didn't think of it right off the bat. Yes, it's 55mm :)

      @@AstroEscape yep that’s happens to us all! Please do more on the DUO if you still have it. I’m waiting for mine. Hopefully sooner then later.

      @@anthonygraham6449 I'm planning on it. Trying to collect more data between clouds and wildfire smoke =/ Luckily on the cloud front, we're approaching the better season for clear skies soon!

    Great video, it will be a great day when we can completely eliminate guiding scopes. Now the industry just needs new software, something more user friendly. Thanks for sharing, cheers.

      It's a step in that direction, but I don't see guide scopes fully going away for quite some time. They have some work to do, to figure out guiding with very narrow filters. Thanks for watching, Woody!
