duel links on an the ipad is like a duel disk

I really want a "functional" duel disk. Like one that can register what card is placed on it so you could maybe have a simulator running for visuals.

I’m surprised we don’t have something close to Zexal’s Duel gazers for tablets and smartphones.

So actually expanding on the NEOS NEX monsters is easier than I first thought. First Just like Marine Dolphin create NEX evolutions for each of the Neos aliens, with their NEX effects being improved version of their original Neos effects. Then create 2 or 3 monster NEX fusions that don't require E-HEero Neos. E-Hero Neos already has fusions based off of using 2 or more Neospacians use some of them as the templets for the NEX fusions. Make some spells that are interruptions and traps that are set-up. Errata Aqua Dolphin from a warrior to a fish, then create more neospacians for the remaining non-human monster types (Thunder, Dragon, Dino, Wyrm, Sea-Serpent, and Pyro).

Love your werewolf archetype, it's such a cool idea. I had the idea myself a while ago that there aren't enough dog/wolf ideas so I set up my own one as well called the Lunar Wolves, who are basically a bunch of dog themed space explorers. Their schtick is searching each other out and helping each other get onto the field in order to do extra deck plays. All the extra deck monsters are themed after different space phenomena, for example, all the synchro summons are based around canine themed constellations.

Ngl i feel like scrap endymion would see play just for fun, i might just go build it lol

Yugioh Vrains had the Dark Mummy Archetype. Their play style was just Virus.Deck. What's weird is that they debute in the anime around the same time as Lair of Darkness SDR was being revealed, and yet we still didn't get them.

Rush Duel would be absolutely amazing. IF they treated it like what it is, a separate and unique card game. I WANTED to play Rush in Duel Links, but I absolutely hate Duel Links so I'm not grinding until I get to stage 10 and unlock Yuga. I didn't even know they made an explicit Rush Duel game until THIS YEAR. If they're trying to gauge interest they need to throw it in MD or just send out a poll on Twitter. Bc Duel Links is already a comparatively small chunk of the player base. Idk how many times I've heard people at my locals talk about wanting a physical way to play Rush Duel here, it's so frustrating.

Does duelong with these actually work though? I know its great for the show but i never really found it useful in real life. Why would i want to stand apart and not being able to see what my opponent has? It just doesnt make any sense to me. They are cool though, not gonna lie.

God I remember when this deck was getting hype around it. As a Scrap player at the time, I knew the cards weren't good enough to do much on their own, but I was so pleased to hear this new mechanic was going to turn them into a solid threat. Right up until it didn't lol

I could definitely see some synergy between Odd-Eyes and Scraps, as Odd-Eyes has several cards that pop cards you control. Might still not be enough, but there's definitely an idea there

In retrospect it definitely seems crazy how the community thought that something like a “pendulum package” would work. The way it’s being used here is just double summon with extra steps. But I definitely remember a lot of the hype being around cheating out clunky old school power houses like jinzo. And if there were people ahead of the curve who actually understood that these were pipe dreams it didn’t matter because nothing pendulums could do would ever compete with the big three from duelist alliance.

Honestly, you could try Scrap with the Superheavy engine and see how that rolls.

I'm so glad someone else acknowledged this deck. It completely skipped over any recognition on History of Yugioh when they got to the pendulum era and it's what endeared me to the new generation even before we got "real" pendulum decks like Qliphort.

Scraps were very good at the time they released though

It's a funny idea but the obvious problem is that Scrap cards are going to be popping Scrap cards and Pendulum cards do nothing to recycle the Scrap cards.

The Scrap Pendulum hype was so wild back then. I blame Slaydra/AznEyes running Yugioh youtube back then qith that hype lol

I like the theory: use the Magicians to speed up summoning Scrap Dragon, which destroys your Scales so you can re-summon them. But I can also see why that wouldn't really cut it against HAT, let alone against Shaddolls and BAs.

I didn't understand what pendulums did back when they were announced so I tried to look for a UA-cam video that showcases how they work mechanically. And funnily enough, the first video I saw was showcasing a Gate Guardian deck with Timegazer, Stargazer, and Odd-Eyes. The guy showcasing it was even hyping up the pendulum mechanic as very broken. I didn't know how serious they were. But it wasn't like the goal of the deck is to actually summon Gate Guardian. It was just showcasing how easy it is to spam LV 7 monsters via pendulum summoning. And since Dragon Rulers, Dracossack, Big Eye, etc. were still fresh in people's minds, that was a bit alarming.

Being relased shortly before Shaddoll and Burning Abyss wasn't the best timing for this strategy.

Ah I remember when Pendelums were first revealed. The entire community lost their minds and it was called the end of YGO I was never as big into competitive YGO so this flew over my head. I was too busy trying to add cards to structure decks that vaguely worked, or seeing if some XYZ monster in Zexal could work in my starter deck. So seeing this was interesting. Also quick correction Odd Eyes Penedelum Dragon wasn't in the starter deck. Regular Odd Eyes Dragon was but its Penedelum variation was in Duelist Alliance.

Im sure with modern support and links this deck can be a decent rogue strategy. Im on it!

I know its science fiction and im over thinking it. But you know what was one thing that always bugged me in the anime about duel disks? The sounds of the monsters. Do duel disks have speakers? Because thats gotta be really werid having all the sounds come from your disk

Actually in the manga pre battle vity duels took place on a table. The anime went anime with the nonsensical arenas. Duel disks in real life just doesn't feel the same. Online play via Master Duel or Duel Links is the much better way to play nowadays.

I wanna get into rush duel and I'd be palying the physical card game again. I really like it as the standard play is imo ruined by the absurd power creep. Edision im not really that interested in due to me not really enjoying the decks available.

I would not mind them rebooting the GAME. Like, why not make a more accessible version/set of rules of the game with less insane 1st turns with 10+ min. combos where you end up with your rival having 5 monsters, one of them with like 7000 attack points AND one blocking you from activating trap cards, another one preventing you from using magic cards and one more preventing you to breethe. Adding new mechanics? I honestly think they should even ban some for that hypothetical new category. Not wonder there are so many people making meme and videos of how ridiculously hard and harsh it is to get back into Yu-Gi.Oh! nowadays. Speed duels are great to play on your phone, but you can still be, literally, prevented from playing if you go second.
