Awesome collection!

I loved this toy when I was a kid, I've since seen it a few times since, and always wondered what it....I don't collect toys, but for me it was just a nostalgia thing. Anyway, last Friday I was at an estate sale, and somehow, I recognized the top of the playset, sitting on the bottom shelf. So I took the toy up to check out, and while it was kissing the sign and the containment unit, all they asked was $5.00. So now I need to track down some figures. It blew my mind just watching videos like yours, and realizing just how many of the figures/and toys my Mom bought me. I just every line besides the glow ones.

I dont remember these at all. Im a big GPK fan so IM loving these smack ups! Crazy these even hit the market in the US. If I come across these I might have to pick some up lol. Great history and review of these figures!

I’m pretty sure Skateboard smack up were not never sold in the UK, certainly don’t remember seeing them around etc - look cool to me and I know for a fact my parents wouldn’t have cared, they brought GPK stickers for me lol

the matrix is weird; not long ago, it appeared in google; and now this vid. The series was part of the joke items sold at our general store. As a kid, the colorful figure on a skateboard was the main interest. I didn't understand the accident but it felt like a joke; it was funny to show them to friends; but it's all there was to it; they were soon left in the toybox. The 80s was loaded with fantasy stuff, from movies, cartoons, to toys; the amusement park had a haunted house and october was halloween; it was cultural. This toyline, not that much interesting, felt like part of the show. Scary stuff was a game and a way to show strenght for us kids on same level. Horror movies were popular in part because of it. The toylines "SuperNaturals" and "Inhumanoids" were fascinating. "Heman" and "Shera" were spectacular too. With "Garbage Pail Kids" - weird to see their figure at toysrus - there was also "Topps Dinosaurs Attack" and "Fright Flicks" cards. I didn't understand those dinos but my friends and I have tried to collect them all. Anything "pop culture" sculpted yourself. But we had also strong values back then. You developed a good sense of humor but you stayed down to earth. And getting older, I cannot blame those who wanted to remove the product from the market.

Your best work yet, Scotty. Great mix of dark humour and information, and your enjoyment for this line really shows. I suppose these toys walk a fine line - every toy company wants to have that hit line that is banned from the schoolyard, because that's just a badge of coolness and guarantees sales. But they don't want the toy line banned from a whole country! Also looking at some of these toys reminds me of watching those skateboard injury videos - they're funny, but at the same time somewhat appalling...

Fantastic video again Scott. I meant to comment on this video when I first watched it a few weeks ago. Wonderful footage and the soundtrack choices were great as always. Razor Ramon and Hothead are terrific pickups. Walking away with those two is a massive win for the collection. I did spot a figure of Stallone from the Over The Top film- I never realised those toys even existed.🤔 Also, the basketball team that plays in that gym have been very successful judging by the amount of banners they have hanging up. 😄

It hilariously ironic that the people protesting this line grew up watching the three stooges…. eye pokes, slaps to the face, the use of many implements to hit one and other with but THIS is unacceptable. great scripting, i got real lols multiple times.

An absolutely brilliant video Scott. I'd never seen these toys before you started posting them on Instagram, so this is a really interesting history lesson. I always enjoy learning about different lines from the 80s and 90s that I wasn't aware of before. They are really cool to look at as well with all the grotesque detailing. 😄 Will this segment be the start of some "Crusher After Hours" style content? Slightly edgier videos like you and Deano getting into a scrap with some Breakers fans at a Sydney Kings game? Or hunting for Slimed Heroes at a vintage toy store in a dodgy part of town? Whatever direction this goes, I'll be watching. 🧐

I can't help wondering why they felt that these were so unacceptable where those that were the adults at the time grew up with Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, etc. Maybe if these figures were of animals or cartoon characters they would have paid them no mind. I kinda wish they had done these for BMXs as I was more of a BMXer than skater, those I would have and would want!! Great video Scott!!! Thanks! 🍻
