- In today's episode I'm back at Collector Con Minto, scouring hundreds of tables of vintage and modern toys and other collectables. As always, I’m bringing you with me, giving you a look at the show floor and sharing my pick-ups and the stuff I'm into, from toy lines like Toxic Crusaders, Monster In My Pocket and Skeleton Warriors to the incredible Mad Monsters from Mego.
What you see here is just a small sample of what's on deck at Collector Con, and the items that most appeal to me.

Happy for you completing toxic crusaders and monster in my pocket. I can feel your excitement. All the Universal Monsters toy’s were awesome to see. The artwork is so nice. That 🐢 backpack is so awesome! Great gifts from everyone. My son and I just recently opened some T2 cards. He’s a big Arnie fan. Saw so many toys and collectibles I would love to pick up. Hell yeah dude, it's all about the excitement and satisfaction of completing a line! Yeah, the 70s and 80s Universal Monsters stuff is too cool, but most of it doesn't come cheap. Still, definitely something I'm going to continue keeping my eyes peeled for. A fan of horror and Arnie action flicks, your son sounds the best! Appreciate the support as always bro!

Oh thanks heaps Mike, I appreciate it mate! In 2024 Collector Con is expanding beyond Sydney with a show up in Newcastle, so let's hope they branch out further because I'd love to travel and see what cool pieces are up for grabs in other states!

Cheers Dan! Yeah, after filming I figured out the ET was from the LJN line, weird how it doesn't have a stamp or marking though, but a really cool figure with that Speak n Spell!
fantastic work as always. The new venue is a definite upgrade. They need to start comping you entry as you advertise collector on more than anyone else.
you’re correct with regards to Guerrilla Gorilla. Super7 trod too close to the playmates line and some artists own the rights to the designs of certain vintage playmates designs and, Sgt Bananas is one of them. The upcoming Super7 is a pretty awesome fig in its own right and the vintage fig is also really cool…. like the old el passo commercial used to say “perche no los dos?!”
I appreciate it Adam, that's nice of you to say mate! There you go, although my collecting starts and ends with the vintage stuff, I love these little pieces of history of the brand, so as soon as I saw that magazine it rang a bell for me... and as you say, the Guerilla Gorilla figure looks sick, and there's no reason we can't enjoy los dos!🦍 🌮
DANGEROUS DINOSAURS (07:18) - The old Tomart's Action Figure Digest magazine no.38 has an article on the 1997 toy fair in New York which shows the display for "Dangerous Dinosaurs" (including a close up of T-Bone) alongside pictures of Street Sharks. Elsewhere in the magazine, it is stated that the line was originally called "DinoVengers" - good luck finding THOSE cardbacks!
Tomart's AFD is English, right? Does that mean these were released in the UK as Dangerous Dinosaurs? DinoVengers, I like that!
I recently picked this up.
A quick google search said that “They began life as "Dangerous Dinosaurs" and the initial packages were produced with that name, but someone else owned the rights and Dangerous became Extreme with the help of printed stickers used to change the name”
That’s all I can find on it until now.

Oh nice! Did you get that same one from Collector Con, or did you find another elsewhere? I don't have that particular issue of Tomarts, so I'm no good here sorry, maybe the original commenter Jeff can help.

Amazing video as always and great pickups! I will admit I was pretty shocked by the Super Powers pricing in the video though, some of those seemed incredibly high in comparison to what I see here in the states.
Also for some reason UA-cam didn’t recommend this video my way, I was thinking to myself “damn, where’s the next SC video at?!” Checked the channel and boom, there it is. Gonna have to hit that bell icon! Haha
Hey Landon! Oh I appreciate the support as always buddy! Yeah man, some of the sellers had their pricing all the way up but there were still some deals to be made. With that said, sadly all vintage toys are a bit more expensive here than the US. Appreciate you looking out for me and hitting that bell brother!

Thanks so much mate, I really appreciate that! Haha the Monster is a toy fair tradition at this point in time. Yeah I agree, it's a unique art style on the cover of that magazine. Yes indeed, it's always cool to spot Rock 'n' Roll Racing in the wild, and for a cheaper price than I paid for it, dammit! No specific titles in particular, but I wouldn't mind picking up some of the classics and some of the other WWF/WWE games if I can find them at the right price!

Yes - those Megos - I had the mummy and wolfman as a kid so really great to see the actual boxart after 50 or so years. Very tempting....
TMNT - I absolutely hate those figures where the leg sculpts are different to each other (Wyrm being a prime example) - if I ever get around to selling my collection, I now know which ones to kill off first!!!!

Hey Jeff! That's right mate, but you know the collection never truly ends... for Toxic Crusaders I've got the vehicles to track down and for Monster in my Pocket I'll try to find some in-package examples lol!
The Mego Monsters are beautiful (possibly the boxes more than the figures themselves, but they're still way up high on my list). That's interesting, I kinda like Wyrm's tentacle leg, but compared to the more classic action figures of the 70s and 80s they're definitely wacky! Appreciate the support Jeff

2nd post - some weird s*** going on a the moment - just watched new Ed's Retro Geek Out video from Holland where he scores a Yakface and a Mighty Max Snowman premium - both of the shown in your video. I'm half way through the new Froggy Flips video where they have the boxed Mego Frankenstein. Given the rarity of these items, it's either a series of co-incidences or some kind of conspiracy with one toy hall and everyone just putting on different accents?!?!?!?😮
😂 Hahaha I watched Ed's video last night and saw the Yakface and Mighty Max Yeti, but sadly the Yakface in my video wasn't 3 Euro 😂 Oh I'll have to check out Froggy's latest episode tonight!

Yes indeed, we visited a toy seller up in the Newcastle area (not quite Central Coast) and had a good toy hunt at his place. That will be the next video!
