This is literally the most misunderstood aircraft in all of Warthunder!
First of all the real world aircraft with this weapons layout was purposely designed, built, and exclusively used to intercept heavy bombers. It was NOT designed and was not used for ground attacks.
In fact EVERY other Me 410 variant is better suited for attacking ground targets, simply because they will allow you to carry bombs or rockets. The 50mm BK 5 gun is also overkill for lightly armored targets (20mm and 30mm cannons other fighters and Me 410s have are perfectly suitable and just as effective for those targets) and it is pretty insufficient for heavily armored targets.
Plus the 50mm only has 22 shots, which is critical in realistic and simulation combat as drastically limits the numbers of ground targets you can take out in one single sortie.
So instead of 'abusing' this aircraft for ground attacks, I highly recommend hunting bombers with it instead and using any of the other Me 410s for this type of mission profile.
Here's my advice on how to use this aircraft with the 50mm cannon instead:
Equip the ammo belts against air targets for the 50mm and 20mm cannons , use the default ammo for the defensive rear guns (these are quite effective due to the incendiary bullets), and make sure your crew (especially the pilot) has a very very high vitality to avoid pilot knockouts and be able to take advantage of the airframe's extreme ruggedness (getting the crew qualified to expert will help greatly and I highly recommend it for this and other twin engine fighters as you need to expect taking hits).
Climb at a speed of 270 km/h to 280 km/h (which will typically be at an angle of about 12° degrees) and use your air spawn advantage to attack heavy bombers. Aim well and make your shots count, but teach yourself to fire relatively early (I typically fire at a distance about twice as far as I otherwise would when flying other fighters) because the 50mm is a very precise gun and will one hit kill anything, even at extreme distances of over a mile out (my personal best is 2.01km).
Other than sniping bombers out of the sky with me Me 410, avoid any kind of turn fights but keep up the speed and do boom and zoom attacks. Make sure you have your teammates around you so they can help you out. Avoid enemies that carry heavy large caliber cannons such as XP-50s, SB2Cs, P-38s and a few P-51s carrying heavy cannons.
The 50mm BK 5 cannon is not really all that great for head on attacks, although it can of course one shot kill anything. But the rate of fire is extremely slow, and you need a very good aim to win your head on attacks.
The two 20mm cannons are very deadly as well and will make up for a lot of your kills even though you may tend to think it's all due to the 50mm..
With a crew that has maxed out pilot vitality you will learn that can take a ridiculous amount of small caliber hits from enemies like spitfires or zeros. With good aim and a bit of cleverness you can in fact win engagements against these types of aircraft on your six, just using the defensive 13mm guns and their incendiary bullets in the default ammo belt as the opponent will often burn up quicker than it can takes for them to do enough damage to your Me 410 to bring it down.
The Me 410 also has dive brakes which are very useful for controlling your speed in boom and zoom attacks and at times to force an enemy on your six to overshoot. They also help with landings, especially when your flaps are damaged, so make good use of them.
You will find it challenging, at times probably even frustrating, but you will see that it is also a very rewarding aircraft to master, and getting good with this plane will certainly help you improve your skills and fighting tactics overall.

Armored belt in my opinion, but you need more extra spawn points!

@@dankeykang868 Default has one explosive shell, so if you hit a heavy tank with that shell you won't get any damage, that's the problem in my opinion jeje
@@tankremover But the defensive armament will be needed much more often when you happen to have an enemy fighter on your six.
Tanks will rarely ever dive on you from above or outturn you. The 13mm incendiary bullets in the default belt are very effective against enemy fighters and will quite often help get out of a pickle alive.
