If i remember, the PUMA cannon is a open-breech one, which allows it to have 2 belts going at the same time, there why the insta-reload, but odd that when switching belts, it doesnt do the same. I actually took it at 9.0 and it performed the same, mostly becasue there were more light armor that high, yet, the turret is a issue since a shot may take all your ammo out, disable vertical (often), horizontal, or damage the gun. oh, and the MUSS somewhat is a spotlight when turned on in the infrared sight (not thermal), so you may want to bind the turn off setting for IRCMs.
the MUSS should actually be turned off at all times and automatically activate when it detects a missile (when it does the MUSS jammer turns towards the missile and it flickers on and off so fast that you can't pick it up with thermals)
The MUSS should be 360 degrees but it is currently just dazzling in the way the turret looks. It’s also able to block 4 missiles at once. With that capability you are literally a demigod.
@@ramonlujan2377 If the Puma goes that up because of reliable protection and APFSDS in autocannon form, then M3A3 Bradley should be at 10.0 since it trades protection with nasty TOW-2s, and capability to fire behind cover (exposing only the Launcher and commander optic).

The Puma is making the T10 and heavies in general so much better. Most of the enemies I find at the 8.3 matches with my T10 M is pumas, which struggle to pen even at the sides.
Bro I'm getting a better KD in my T55A and T62s because pumas can't pen me anywhere no matter how hard they try while you can easily oneshot them with apcbc / apds
The APS isn’t even working correctly to its irl counterpart which can automatically detect and counter up to four missiles at once. I honestly expected the Puma to get wreaked but I’ve consistently hit aces with it
@@KSmithwick1989 eh, pretty much any soviet tank could kill it with APFSDS. Only the BMPs would have issues, but the Puma is about the coat of a tank, so that isn't really fair.
@sheep lord Granted the Spike LR on the Puma has a 4,000 m range and top-attack capability. Meaning it's well outside the range of Russian tanks. While also using superior optics.
I've been playing the AH1G on the PVE event and yes, if the gunner is out you cannot use the 7.62miniguns or the 40mm if you have it equipped. But can still shoot the hydras. 1:30
Considering how fast the AH-1G dies in Ground RB most of the time, and most of the damage comes from the Hydras, the gunner-operated 40mm is... not the most important in that scenario. Which is sort of what I feel Spook was getting at.
As a Russian tech tree player, my teams at 8.3 are getting shredded by this thing match after match. Not pulling the 'broken' card on it, as its very killable; but give the Puma to a competent player who knows the maps well and your team will fold like a house of cards every single time.
Me who couldn’t grind Israel 7.3-7.7 because all my matches were up br to 8.3 getting ass fucked by a tank with gen 2 thermals when none of my tanks even had a stabilizer 🤣🤣🤣
8.3? Ah, that BR is one of the best. You have tanks like IS-7, T-10M, T-55, T-62, BMP-2, and perhaps some others that i forgot to mention. The puma is annoying to deal with, but, if you have anything other than light tanks, never show flat side to it. It's good practice in general to always angle the tank slightly when taking a corner. The thing is that, both its weakspot and the turret are very inconsistent. I shot the ammo in the turret like 4 times and none of the times when i killed a puma was by an ammo detonation. And most of my kills were on clueless german players rushing blindly. If you want some strong russian lineups, check out 4.3; 5.7; 7.7; 8.3; 8.7; 11.3. My favourite BR to grind is 7.7 because of almost constant downtiers to shread 6.7s which can't do anything to my IS-4M or IS-6. My second favourite is 5.7 (or 6.0) where i can bully an entire lobby with the KV-220, T-34-85, IS-1, ISU-122S for 5.7 or SU-100 for 6.0 and IS-2 for 6.0. For SPAA, BTR-ZD for the 5.7 lineup and the praga for the 6.0 lineup.
overall what gaijin has done with the puma is illogical not only does it have what it should but it still manages to be a lower BR than what it should be though its stock grind is extremely painful due to 2/3rds of its rounds being HE
I call it bs. yea, having 1 out of 3 round to be APDS iis painful, but the entire thing is just taking shot most of the time, and having those HE is good against aircraft.

The main problem is the survivability of the Puma. I was running into it earlier and I noticed even well placed shots in the middle of the vehicle would only take out like one compartment like the radiator or transmission. So then I decided to test it out in the armor viewer, and I noticed that APFSDS and sometimes APDS are the only things that can reliably kill it, and even then it still needs to be a good shot. HEAT and ATGMs, even from the front, will still barely do anything. I tested the Bradley’s ATGM right where the gunner and driver are and the optics ate up the shot. Also it makes it even harder to kill whenever there’s no crew in the turret, the ammo never goes off, and the cannon breach is really small so it doesn’t get hit much. It also has armor panels on the inside that will block any shrapnel and even stop a round from continuing on through the tank.
Imo this thing perfectly complements the german SK-105, one is obnoxious up close the other is obnoxious from far away. This thing is literally like the PT-76-57 but with actual defense.

@@alexbarboni6619 For a small flanker tank the APHE isn't that bad. It lets you oneshot-kill with a 0.5s reload autocannon. Also, welcome to fucking Frenchies and using SOLID SHOT AP at 7.3-7.7 so yeah... I would kill for some APHE instead

@@alexbarboni6619 Most of the French vehicles in the 7.0-7.7 bracket that have only solid shot AP available. The rest have only HEAT available. Char 25 (7.3) did get APHE added to it, but it comes at the cost of only 200mm pen at 7.3 It's because they're mostly ancient as fuck, from like 1950's era.

still intresting that gaijin still has the option to add the Spike ATGM launcher to it and Rheinmetal also produces 50mm PELE shells, these could make it quite neasty, since they will then act more like Hesh/APHE than Darts, while being inert. -edit they also make 30mm PELE, tought they added the 50mm variant not the 30mm Variant
I think adding the Spike would be fine, but ONLY if they kept the ammo inherently extremely limited, maybe even completely non reloading. Mind you, this is at 9.0 plus. Giving this thing any more toys at 8.3 would be horror.

These day's its at 10.0. I always have to face these vehicles when they're introduced and are hilariously OP, but never manage to unlock them before their BR gets adjusted.
i got it just before the change and i would understand why it got the placement it had, the apds rounds are so fucking worthless grinding out to the apfsds was harder than pulling your own teeth out. but 120mm of pen at 8.3 became busted. and now it sits at 10.0 completely dead, because it really cant kill anything now.

2:46 As someone who has fought these in a Sheridan. Yeah. If you are in a Sheridan, same goes for the Starship, you don't fight these, you go somewhere else. You can't even bonk them with your HE, as, unless the turret is facing over the Puma's front thus allowing you to splash the driver's hatch, there is nowhere to reliably kill the crew. Sure you can maim the shit out of its turret, but the Puma is wrapped in a cage as well. So a hit on the back won't do anything.

@@arziac2677 i put 7 darts thru it with the AGS and couldnt get any spall to hit the crew could only see the top right half the transmission, radiator and engine ate all of it. And if it aint this cancer its the fucking anti everythin bagel panzer. Germany doesnt even have to field an MBT in 8.0 to 9.3 range right now to have the most meta lineups.
People pointing out how it is now 10.0 but forgetting to mention that not a single bug report on it has been resolved and it has been nerfed multiple times, loosing pen, fire rate, fire endurance (now down to around 10 shots instead of the well over 100 in reallife) it lost its HEVT, the passive protection system still does not work at all and so on.
@eikhorn1177 everything is a walk in the park when they don't shoot back and flanking is almost impossible on most maps. (I have spaded the Vilkas so I know how to play the 30mm) The PUMA should be at 9.7 or get spikes
The thing is, it is still missing about 60% of its armor and most subsystems are also not correct. Currently, the only IFV in the world that is better protected than it is probably the T-15. The Puma should be straight 10.3 or higher if they fix it. With Spikes, 12.0+ Here is a short list of what is wrong: -2 layers of armor on the UFP are missing (Edit: Seems fixed now) -The frontal "exterior fuel tanks" are actually AMAP Armor inserts that can be taken out to lower weight for transport in a A400M -LFP is wrong -Sides are missing additional armor under the ERA and on the lower hull sides -The front corner boxes are also armor (not sure if ERA or passive) not 5mm structural steel -The back is missing armor (should be protected against russian 14.5mm) -Turret is missing NERA armor plates -CLARA ERA is missing its KE protection -CLARA ERA on the Puma is only triggered by EFPs and insensitve to other attacks(such as KE), so it should only explode when hit by HEAT (More sensitive CLARA exists but is not used) -Transmission is wrong, should be 6/6 not 10/5 -Reverse is wrong. It is not capped at -30kmh -Thermals are still wrong (i think ?) should be gen3 (the forums found the actual resolution+zoom and angle) -Commander optics is missing zoom -MUSS is broken, should provide 360° by 70° protection -MUSS directional auto smoke is missing -Helicopter warning is missing -PMC308 HETF should be KETF -FCS for the KETF Ammo is missing, (makes it act like proxy fuze, can Auto track & lead Helis) -Ammo feed is wrong. Should be 200 rounds contious feed, then reload from Hull ammo -Gun feed is wrong, it is open bolt double fed. There is no delay between ammo switching -Name is wrong, ffs. Should be "Spz. Puma" not "PUMA". Edits: updated / fixed some spelling
With spikes it would need a whole new tier. They can be fired and track a target like the PARS3 that’s op, but they can also be fired without locking on a target and either be manually guided by the onboard camera or be locked on someone. Just imagine what you could do. Sitting back on a cap point and spamming missiles that can automatically follow targets.
@@exo068 I know, that was the reason why i said BR 12.0+ where it wouldn't face any of the current tanks. The black night would probably be fine due to aps (Puma would only have two missiles, no reloads i think?), but everything else is fucked.
@@13deadghosts I guess it has more then 2. The missiles wouldn’t be a real problem even if they are implemented like in real life like you said. Most nations already have a tank with APS or at least a demonstrator. They will probably add more tanks with APS first and then go with missiles like the spike.
As a frequent poster in the Puma thread it really should be 10.7 or up if it gets its full armor, AHEAD functionality, and a dumbed down version of MULL
knocking out the gunner on the ah 1g makes it so they cant use the turret which usually houses twin 7.62mm miniguns or 40mm grenade launcher deadly if it is the 40mm
Yeap! But they can still fire the rockets which normally is the main source of damage. But th 40mm also does quite some dmg sometimes so no gunner helps a little.

I’ve played against those things in Russian 7.3-7.7 vehicles and my goodness are they annoying. Had the whole team shooting at them and they still wouldn’t die. And being in an IS-4M meant I shot him once and it crippled his gun and killed his Gunner but nothing else surprisingly and then I had to wait like 20 sec watching him get pelted and only dying after I fired my second shot. People at this tier either know where to shoot or just keep hammering his ER plates or whatever they are
7.3 to 8.7 is currently unplayable at this point with this thing running around, there's tanks from the late Korean war fighting a vehicle from 2015 with 3rd gen thermals, broken survivability and APFSDS rounds.
It's like Germany materialized all the frustration to face BMP pt76 57 and all the light tank cancer without anything to counter them, thing is, this frustration was too strong and now it's a massacre
None of those people wanted to see Puma at 8.3 my butthurt friend. All they asked is accurate Puma with atgm system at 10.0 at least because thats where this ifv belongs. So go on and blame Gaijin for that.

"1:35" knocking out the gunner on an AH-1G should disable the 40mm Grenade Launchers or the 7.62 minigun turret, depending on what you've got. External Ordnance isnt affected.

@@stuffzie8329 Well they admitted it in various threads that it would break the meta if they would give the leopard their full capabilities like thermal 2, correct speed and protection. Also the leo2A7 also got rejected several times due to being too strong against russian and american tanks which most likely would happen. Same with gepard (which has thermals and more than just 40 rounds for ground targets) they could at least give the 2A5 and 6 thermal2 and a power Upgrade for the FlaRakRad which absolutely can accelerate at a much faster rate.. It is a fricking powerhouse it will drive through forest and on muddy roads up to 40km/h and wont be defeated by a small Hill... But gaijin just doesnt want germany to be as good as in real life. Like come on.. 3 direct Hits at the same Spot and the reactive armor of that T80 is still there..

Though it would probably be extremely cancerous, you could implement the spike like the PARS missile on the Tiger UHT, and put the Puma to at least 10.0
From my experience playing it, I feel it should go up to 8.7 mayyybe 9.0 bc yes you can still perform up that high but then you’re not as survivable since a lot more things have apfsds especially if you get up-tiered to 10
It's not about the vehicle itself being potentially gimped by going up, it's that it's an absolutely unhealthy presence for basically any vehicle below its BR. There are a ton of 8.0 tanks that just have no option against this thing in a majority of scenarios. That is horrible game design. Besides, a lot of vehicles aren't too survivable anyways at 9.0+, why should it matter for the PUMA. How is this thing significantly different from the Strf 9040 that sits up there? Honestly, 9.0-9.3 is where this should be, 8.7 isn't far enough.
@@TheAmazingCowpig Ton of 8.0 tanks? On EU server for the last month or so 7.3 has been a permanent 8.3 uptier for pretty much Every Single Game. Now imagine dealing with this nonsense on HEAT spamming 7.0-7.3 lineup without stabilizers, rangefinders, thermals or even night vision.

I do think that it makes sense for balancing to have a 35 sec reload but it doesnt make sense in the actual design because the ammo is all in one belt and doesnt need to be reloaded
This feels like watching PT-76-57 gameplay on release, except I'm 99% sure it'll actually get nerfed and moved more than .3BR up. Oh and it actually has a stock grind. Have fun with 87mm pen APDS on every 3rd shot, rest is HE.
People are used to spam the hell of autocannon and not count any of it. You just gotta remember than the APDS is a Red tracer, use it in a support role (like the Marder IFV) and just not fuck yourself over confidence in your armor, its really realiable, but doesnt mean that its impossible to pen.

My very first experience with this thing was me in my bmp3 breaking its breach close quarters before firing 3 atgms and 1 and a half apds belts in to it and it survived The fourth atgm went through the side of the roof that slopes up knocking It out

full uptiers against the PUMA would include the T-54, BatChat 25 t, M47 Patton, Centurion Mk3, Strv 81 and AMX 50 Foch. a PUMA designed and created 50 years later than any of these should have no place near these tanks
I agree but you have to remember this thing is supposed to be a troop carrier with out spikes its main weapon against mbt's putting it at 10.3 or 11.0 with out that it would just be useless
Lacking a reload timer makes sense if the cannon is belt-fed and the turret has room for a man to operate the weaponry manually in case of control failure. Pre-linking a second belt is pretty standard procedure for any crew-served belt-fed weapon when space allows, and there is enough of an interval between engagements to link belts without getting your hands dangerously close to a firing weapon.
sweden has a premium at 3.7 called the SAV 20.12.48, it has a 120mm auto cannon with a pen over 95mmm, and a great he round. it reloads every 1.2secs. it has a top speed of 49km/h and 20km/h in reverse. it is god teir broken at 3.7.
Im grinding Russian tech tree and got up to BR 8.0. Me and my friend were already having difficulties grinding due to totally balanced Marders(and other marder based tanks) and Begleitpanzers being played over abundantly. And now something else that is arguably more cancerous (Turm III is a medium but still as cancer) has joined the light german line, our grind for our Russian vehicles slowed down even further than it had already. There are so many moments the PUMA just went in and destroyed an entire flank by itself. If there were more than one, then you've already lost the battle. These german vehicles, the vast majority of time are fighting against Russia and at the moment, we dont have anything that can counter these german lights or be as equivalent as them. Germany suffers bro? Bro, im suffering. I should've grinded Sweden.
your struggling against the dogs hit marder1a3? mate that things autocannon literally struggles penetrating any soviet medium or heavy tanks from the side or even back. it only has 4 atgms which are MILAN1 missiles which 7 of them can be found on the 6.7 ratel 20.
The AAA gap in the swedish tree is extremly painful. Use the VEAK and definitely get spawn killed by a Puma. Use the older Bofors and do try to hit a jet with no zone ammo, ammo that there is not much of to start with.
I've already gotten 4 nukes with the PUMA since patch day. Yeah, the PUMA is a little broken in the hands of someone who plays like an actual psychopath. Needs to be up-tiered before it kills the entirety of the 8.3 BR range.
@@georgiaoni6101 not too late, go and frimd Germany. it might take a while but it's got interesting vehicles. the only downside is some German vehicles are worse than French counterparts on the same br, for example the amx-40 at 9.7 is better than the leopard 2k at 9.7, they both have pretty much the same speed and mobility, same 20mm and similar penetration. however the leopard 2k has no thermals while the amx-40 has thermals amd are both the same br regardless.

Nice detail with the Hedgehog armor. Question is, where is the fucking ATGM launcher? It's 2024, everything has the ability to fire ATGMs. Non-armored vehicles, non mine resistant vehicles, mine resistant vehicles, tanks, IFVs, APCs, Infantry, slightly more angry Infantry with shovels, slow flying fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, boats, bigger boats, small ships, medium sized ships, big sized ships, suicide drones, reusable drones, horse carriages and more. Bolt a Javelin on a VW Golf and you have "Babys first Anti-Tank vehicle".
gaijin decided to not include it for "balancing reasons" which quiet honestly is stupid because thats not only unrealistic but also what the BR rating should be for in the first place. They should've just added te ATGM launchers and slapped it to 10.0 in the first place, rather than not including them and slowly creeping it from 8.3 to 10.0 and still not including it.

The Puma is making the T10 and heavies in general so much better. Most of the enemies I find at the 8.3 matches with my T10 M is pumas, which struggle to pen even at the sides.

I've been playing the AH1G on the PVE event and yes, if the gunner is out you cannot use the 7.62miniguns or the 40mm if you have it equipped. But can still shoot the hydras. 1:30
Also with things like Apaches you can't use the ATGMs, and I'm pretty sure the chaingun is disabled too

Considering how fast the AH-1G dies in Ground RB most of the time, and most of the damage comes from the Hydras, the gunner-operated 40mm is... not the most important in that scenario. Which is sort of what I feel Spook was getting at.

As a Russian tech tree player, my teams at 8.3 are getting shredded by this thing match after match. Not pulling the 'broken' card on it, as its very killable; but give the Puma to a competent player who knows the maps well and your team will fold like a house of cards every single time.
Me who couldn’t grind Israel 7.3-7.7 because all my matches were up br to 8.3 getting ass fucked by a tank with gen 2 thermals when none of my tanks even had a stabilizer 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly kinda deserved because russia absolutely dominates from 3.0 to 6.0. I had nothing but uptiers against russians
8.3? Ah, that BR is one of the best. You have tanks like IS-7, T-10M, T-55, T-62, BMP-2, and perhaps some others that i forgot to mention. The puma is annoying to deal with, but, if you have anything other than light tanks, never show flat side to it. It's good practice in general to always angle the tank slightly when taking a corner. The thing is that, both its weakspot and the turret are very inconsistent. I shot the ammo in the turret like 4 times and none of the times when i killed a puma was by an ammo detonation. And most of my kills were on clueless german players rushing blindly.
If you want some strong russian lineups, check out 4.3; 5.7; 7.7; 8.3; 8.7; 11.3.
My favourite BR to grind is 7.7 because of almost constant downtiers to shread 6.7s which can't do anything to my IS-4M or IS-6. My second favourite is 5.7 (or 6.0) where i can bully an entire lobby with the KV-220, T-34-85, IS-1, ISU-122S for 5.7 or SU-100 for 6.0 and IS-2 for 6.0. For SPAA, BTR-ZD for the 5.7 lineup and the praga for the 6.0 lineup.
overall what gaijin has done with the puma is illogical not only does it have what it should but it still manages to be a lower BR than what it should be though its stock grind is extremely painful due to 2/3rds of its rounds being HE

The main problem is the survivability of the Puma. I was running into it earlier and I noticed even well placed shots in the middle of the vehicle would only take out like one compartment like the radiator or transmission. So then I decided to test it out in the armor viewer, and I noticed that APFSDS and sometimes APDS are the only things that can reliably kill it, and even then it still needs to be a good shot. HEAT and ATGMs, even from the front, will still barely do anything. I tested the Bradley’s ATGM right where the gunner and driver are and the optics ate up the shot. Also it makes it even harder to kill whenever there’s no crew in the turret, the ammo never goes off, and the cannon breach is really small so it doesn’t get hit much. It also has armor panels on the inside that will block any shrapnel and even stop a round from continuing on through the tank.
Now it is less survivable, yet i still prefer to fire 2 9M133 rockets from BMP-2M just to be safe
Imo this thing perfectly complements the german SK-105, one is obnoxious up close the other is obnoxious from far away.
This thing is literally like the PT-76-57 but with actual defense.
PT-76-57 is still more obnoxious than PUMA beacose APHE, while PUMA has only APSFDS

@@alexbarboni6619 Most of the French vehicles in the 7.0-7.7 bracket that have only solid shot AP available. The rest have only HEAT available. Char 25 (7.3) did get APHE added to it, but it comes at the cost of only 200mm pen at 7.3

still intresting that gaijin still has the option to add the Spike ATGM launcher to it and Rheinmetal also produces 50mm PELE shells, these could make it quite neasty, since they will then act more like Hesh/APHE than Darts, while being inert.

Yeah, PELE projectiles are like apfsds munitions with hesh afterefect. Basically a way to bring back some of that old spalling.
I think adding the Spike would be fine, but ONLY if they kept the ammo inherently extremely limited, maybe even completely non reloading. Mind you, this is at 9.0 plus. Giving this thing any more toys at 8.3 would be horror.

i got it just before the change and i would understand why it got the placement it had, the apds rounds are so fucking worthless grinding out to the apfsds was harder than pulling your own teeth out. but 120mm of pen at 8.3 became busted.
and now it sits at 10.0 completely dead, because it really cant kill anything now.

You can't even bonk them with your HE, as, unless the turret is facing over the Puma's front thus allowing you to splash the driver's hatch, there is nowhere to reliably kill the crew. Sure you can maim the shit out of its turret, but the Puma is wrapped in a cage as well. So a hit on the back won't do anything.
Yeah, I managed to fight a Puma and win with my Starship, but the fucker absorbed 3 shot of Heat.
All of US 8.0 is fucking fodder for these things. I put 600 rounds from the 163 into one and didnt kill it.

People pointing out how it is now 10.0 but forgetting to mention that not a single bug report on it has been resolved and it has been nerfed multiple times, loosing pen, fire rate, fire endurance (now down to around 10 shots instead of the well over 100 in reallife) it lost its HEVT, the passive protection system still does not work at all and so on.
It's not like we could move gaijin, they already added "Puma 2.0" which isn't any better

The thing is, it is still missing about 60% of its armor and most subsystems are also not correct. Currently, the only IFV in the world that is better protected than it is probably the T-15. The Puma should be straight 10.3 or higher if they fix it. With Spikes, 12.0+ Here is a short list of what is wrong:
-2 layers of armor on the UFP are missing (Edit: Seems fixed now)
-The frontal "exterior fuel tanks" are actually AMAP Armor inserts that can be taken out to lower weight for transport in a A400M
-LFP is wrong
-Sides are missing additional armor under the ERA and on the lower hull sides
-The front corner boxes are also armor (not sure if ERA or passive) not 5mm structural steel
-The back is missing armor (should be protected against russian 14.5mm)
-Turret is missing NERA armor plates
-CLARA ERA is missing its KE protection
-CLARA ERA on the Puma is only triggered by EFPs and insensitve to other attacks(such as KE), so it should only explode when hit by HEAT (More sensitive CLARA exists but is not used)
-Transmission is wrong, should be 6/6 not 10/5
-Reverse is wrong. It is not capped at -30kmh
-Thermals are still wrong (i think ?) should be gen3 (the forums found the actual resolution+zoom and angle)
-Commander optics is missing zoom
-MUSS is broken, should provide 360° by 70° protection
-MUSS directional auto smoke is missing
-Helicopter warning is missing
-PMC308 HETF should be KETF
-FCS for the KETF Ammo is missing, (makes it act like proxy fuze, can Auto track & lead Helis)
-Ammo feed is wrong. Should be 200 rounds contious feed, then reload from Hull ammo
-Gun feed is wrong, it is open bolt double fed. There is no delay between ammo switching
-Name is wrong, ffs. Should be "Spz. Puma" not "PUMA".

With spikes it would need a whole new tier. They can be fired and track a target like the PARS3 that’s op, but they can also be fired without locking on a target and either be manually guided by the onboard camera or be locked on someone. Just imagine what you could do. Sitting back on a cap point and spamming missiles that can automatically follow targets.

Most nations already have a tank with APS or at least a demonstrator. They will probably add more tanks with APS first and then go with missiles like the spike.

I’ve played against those things in Russian 7.3-7.7 vehicles and my goodness are they annoying. Had the whole team shooting at them and they still wouldn’t die. And being in an IS-4M meant I shot him once and it crippled his gun and killed his Gunner but nothing else surprisingly and then I had to wait like 20 sec watching him get pelted and only dying after I fired my second shot. People at this tier either know where to shoot or just keep hammering his ER plates or whatever they are

"1:35" knocking out the gunner on an AH-1G should disable the 40mm Grenade Launchers or the 7.62 minigun turret, depending on what you've got. External Ordnance isnt affected.

@@stuffzie8329 Well they admitted it in various threads that it would break the meta if they would give the leopard their full capabilities like thermal 2, correct speed and protection. Also the leo2A7 also got rejected several times due to being too strong against russian and american tanks which most likely would happen. Same with gepard (which has thermals and more than just 40 rounds for ground targets) they could at least give the 2A5 and 6 thermal2 and a power Upgrade for the FlaRakRad which absolutely can accelerate at a much faster rate.. It is a fricking powerhouse it will drive through forest and on muddy roads up to 40km/h and wont be defeated by a small Hill... But gaijin just doesnt want germany to be as good as in real life. Like come on.. 3 direct Hits at the same Spot and the reactive armor of that T80 is still there..

From my experience playing it, I feel it should go up to 8.7 mayyybe 9.0 bc yes you can still perform up that high but then you’re not as survivable since a lot more things have apfsds especially if you get up-tiered to 10
It's not about the vehicle itself being potentially gimped by going up, it's that it's an absolutely unhealthy presence for basically any vehicle below its BR. There are a ton of 8.0 tanks that just have no option against this thing in a majority of scenarios. That is horrible game design.
Besides, a lot of vehicles aren't too survivable anyways at 9.0+, why should it matter for the PUMA. How is this thing significantly different from the Strf 9040 that sits up there? Honestly, 9.0-9.3 is where this should be, 8.7 isn't far enough.

I do think that it makes sense for balancing to have a 35 sec reload but it doesnt make sense in the actual design because the ammo is all in one belt and doesnt need to be reloaded
This feels like watching PT-76-57 gameplay on release, except I'm 99% sure it'll actually get nerfed and moved more than .3BR up.
Oh and it actually has a stock grind. Have fun with 87mm pen APDS on every 3rd shot, rest is HE.

People are used to spam the hell of autocannon and not count any of it. You just gotta remember than the APDS is a Red tracer, use it in a support role (like the Marder IFV) and just not fuck yourself over confidence in your armor, its really realiable, but doesnt mean that its impossible to pen.

Lacking a reload timer makes sense if the cannon is belt-fed and the turret has room for a man to operate the weaponry manually in case of control failure. Pre-linking a second belt is pretty standard procedure for any crew-served belt-fed weapon when space allows, and there is enough of an interval between engagements to link belts without getting your hands dangerously close to a firing weapon.
sweden has a premium at 3.7 called the SAV 20.12.48, it has a 120mm auto cannon with a pen over 95mmm, and a great he round. it reloads every 1.2secs. it has a top speed of 49km/h and 20km/h in reverse. it is god teir broken at 3.7.

Im grinding Russian tech tree and got up to BR 8.0. Me and my friend were already having difficulties grinding due to totally balanced Marders(and other marder based tanks) and Begleitpanzers being played over abundantly. And now something else that is arguably more cancerous (Turm III is a medium but still as cancer) has joined the light german line, our grind for our Russian vehicles slowed down even further than it had already.
There are so many moments the PUMA just went in and destroyed an entire flank by itself. If there were more than one, then you've already lost the battle.
These german vehicles, the vast majority of time are fighting against Russia and at the moment, we dont have anything that can counter these german lights or be as equivalent as them.

your struggling against the dogs hit marder1a3? mate that things autocannon literally struggles penetrating any soviet medium or heavy tanks from the side or even back. it only has 4 atgms which are MILAN1 missiles which 7 of them can be found on the 6.7 ratel 20.
The AAA gap in the swedish tree is extremly painful. Use the VEAK and definitely get spawn killed by a Puma. Use the older Bofors and do try to hit a jet with no zone ammo, ammo that there is not much of to start with.

I've already gotten 4 nukes with the PUMA since patch day. Yeah, the PUMA is a little broken in the hands of someone who plays like an actual psychopath. Needs to be up-tiered before it kills the entirety of the 8.3 BR range.
As someone who plays france 8.3 i wish i grinded a different nation

the only downside is some German vehicles are worse than French counterparts on the same br, for example the amx-40 at 9.7 is better than the leopard 2k at 9.7, they both have pretty much the same speed and mobility, same 20mm and similar penetration. however the leopard 2k has no thermals while the amx-40 has thermals amd are both the same br regardless.

Nice detail with the Hedgehog armor. Question is, where is the fucking ATGM launcher? It's 2024, everything has the ability to fire ATGMs. Non-armored vehicles, non mine resistant vehicles, mine resistant vehicles, tanks, IFVs, APCs, Infantry, slightly more angry Infantry with shovels, slow flying fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, boats, bigger boats, small ships, medium sized ships, big sized ships, suicide drones, reusable drones, horse carriages and more. Bolt a Javelin on a VW Golf and you have "Babys first Anti-Tank vehicle".
gaijin decided to not include it for "balancing reasons" which quiet honestly is stupid because thats not only unrealistic but also what the BR rating should be for in the first place. They should've just added te ATGM launchers and slapped it to 10.0 in the first place, rather than not including them and slowly creeping it from 8.3 to 10.0 and still not including it.
