    I bought a Flex driver the other day it came with a hard case love that and two batteries which I have to say are sub par very disappointed with the batteries both of the batteries had a black goo on them when I opened the case I heard their batteries leaked but that it's fine so I wiped them off and proceeded to charge them and they both leaked on the charger which is not good plus the goo got on my clothes so I returned it and will not be buying another Flex product I'll stick to my dewalt and Milwaukee they both have the best batteries and don't leak

      @@MrBostonBilly call flex support on the phone send them pictures of the batteries and they'll send you new stacked batteries to replace them it's really easy you'll need a register online but call them on the phone take pictures of your batteries you must have your receipt where you bought them at. And I'll send you new batteries and the new batteries will be different they're stack which is a different charge way so the batteries don't leak but you don't have to send them the batteries they'll just want pictures

      that "goo" was a coolant gel flex added in their earliest wave of batteries typically the non-stack cylindrical celled batteries. If they were exposed to heat or possibly pushed in the factory testing enough for the phases to change or states of matter rather. If you talk to flex, the life time warranty covers 3 replacements per battery any charger you buy until new years eve of 2024. That being said some people said that if your batteries leak, the replacement may not count toward your 3 replacements. i recently made a video on their 18 ga brad nailer which is probably the best on the market with the only "issue" being its weight.

    Great head 2 head! FLEX is manufactured by Chervon, not Chevron. Chervon builds tools, Chevron is a massive energy company. The FLEX brand is indeed German, and they're owned by Chervon as well. But the "Red FLEX" tools from Germany are a completely different line of tools than the "Black FLEX" line you're using. Black FLEX is not designed in Germany.

      Thank you for the clarification regarding the company and for highlighting the detailed distinctions between the two tools. I realized two days after uploading the video that I had mistakenly mentioned the wrong company. (By the way, you're the only one who noticed that mistake.) I'm learning to conduct more thorough research on the history and manufacturers of these tools. 😂 Any input, pointers, and criticisms are greatly appreciated.

    Hi I just bought the flex vacuum it was $129 and you got a free 3.5 amp stack battery which is worth 179 alone. I don't understand flex every time I go to Lowe's every week they have tools on clearance and they're 60% off I feel that Lowe's might be dropping their line it doesn't make me feel good in the heart knowing that these nice tools are being sold so cheap but on the other hand I buy a lot of them when I see them on sale. Let me tell you about this tremendous vacuum I'll leave it in the back of my Mercedes van so I can always keep it clean when I throw my crap in the back and have trash days where I have to take bags of trash off the job site if you use a 2.5 volt battery it will work fine but I will tell you if you put a 10 amp battery and that thing it will work like it's supercharged or turbocharged The thing just sings away really loud and the suction is much more incredibly stronger so there you go the bigger the battery the faster that thing will work now I'm talking about going from a 2.5 amp regular battery to a 10 amp stack battery I don't necessarily know if you need to put a 10 amp stack battery cuz it makes a little bit heavy but I'm sure if you put a 6 amp stack or an 8 amp battery it will work good too anyway it's a super good tool but the way they're selling these tools where you buy the vacuum for $129 and they give you $179 battery for free all these prices are just insane it doesn't leave me comfortable that the company is going to be in business or possibly Lowe's is dropping their line I'm looking forward to hopefully on clearance the tripod light that's 249 coming down in price My store where I live has eight of them they've been there for 3 months they haven't sold a one I can see them up in the top and I asked the guys that do the flex there and they all own flex now cuz they get them on clearance too they said the lights haven't moved at all they're too expensive but it's a great light so I'm waiting for the light to go on clearance and the radio. I bought the rear handle saw that was 399 for $299 on Amazon. Now two weeks ago Lowe's had it on clearance for $159 that was the kit with the charger and a 10 amp battery I kept the bat two batteries I bought two saws I kept the two batteries and I sold the saws with the charger for $159 what I paid for them and they gave you a $300 battery. See this is ridiculous this is not what I understand how does the company make money doing this. Why is Lowe's dumping all these things

    Great job on the video brother. I like your studio. I've done my own comparison tests, from time to time. One of the most challenging things in testing 2 tools, one in each hand, is the difference rotational torque in each hand. We can't help how we're made.

    not a fair fight. the pouch battery can output a lot more power on demand. A flex 6 cell 5ah 18650 would have been equal to the ridgid 5 cell 6ah battery.

      Exactly. To make it as close as possible he should have used the 8 or 12 amp with 21700. Not Ridgid's smallest battery size vs flex's best battery.

      @@TacticalThib wow dude, real mature. You're the one that sounds like a fan boy. Anyone who is open to a real comparison to find accurate info so they can make a good choice for their money would want a real head to head. I'll bet if he used Ridgid's best battery against Flex's lower grade, Flex fan boys would cry out. If someone would test on a level playing field no one would complain and people could learn and make a good decision. That's why most people watch these head to head videos. Grow up man!

  • @DiligentDave1966
    @DiligentDave1966 6 місяців тому

    I have seen much closer comparisons.
    I want to point out two things that I feel are very important.
    First: you are using a stacked lithium battery on the Flex, and an 18 650 cell battery on the Ridgid.
    The Ridgid does much better with an 8.0 EXP battery, which was one of the free options during Black Friday. Also, the Flex has been known to overheat if you use the turbo for too long.
    Second: the rigid is simply the most comfortable combo that I have ever held. Being a DIYer, I don’t need the most powerful.

    • @homesteadgarage
      @homesteadgarage  6 місяців тому

      I definitely agree with you. What kind of testing would you consider to measure the possible overheating? I’m open and looking for ideas.

    • @DiligentDave1966
      @DiligentDave1966 6 місяців тому +1

      @@homesteadgarage I've heard, from people who use Flex on a regular basis, that drilling multiple holes in turbo mode can make the drill get pretty hot. They also said that the turbo will shut off on its own.
      Another thing that I heard is that the impact driver doesn't perform very well when it's cold.
      All I can say, for sure, is that I tested Flex, Milwaukee, Dewalt and Ridgid for myself. That was based on the advice from someone that really likes Ridgid. I ultimately chose the Ridgid high torque hammer drill combo. Not only is it the most comfortable, for me, out of all the ones I tested, but it performed above my expectations.

    If that's the 160W Flex fast charger no way it will charge the 6Ah battery in 15 min. More like 45-50 min.
    But that basic Ridgid charger with thin 18-20 AWG is only 55W. I never owned a 6Ah Ridgid battery but I know it took almost 1hr to fully charge my 2Ah battery and over 90 min for my 4Ah battery so it would be frustratingly slow doing the same work on a 6Ah. What's wrong with Ridgid, they should've kitted one of their fast chargers instead.
