Hi Gary, great vid, you forgot to mention in the "What You Need" section a set of large "Gonads" to even attempt this on not such a reasonably priced guitar, but Hey, what could go wrong !!, great to see you got yourself a nice new spanner , suitably aged for the filming, ( that`s the engineer coming out again, you crack me up mate 😃👌🔧, at least its the right size), love the machine head set up , proper attention to detail, you make me laugh but you sure know what you`re doing and talking about. That Blue does look good, fitted some Ernie Balls super slinky 9`s to my Fender Elite on your recommendation, wow its come alive for the blues , , the bends are insane, going to put a set on my Gibson tomorrow, cheers Gary catch you Saturday , going to put a set on my Gibson tomorrow
Hi Andy and thanks mate :-) When I was in the taxi trade I'd make one decent engine out of two knackered ones so this kind of operation doesn't feel so daunting and it really is the kind of thing any decent DIY-er can do. Pleased to hear about your string choice, too :-) Yes, the 9's make bending a pleasure rather than a chore in my experience. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Sophon :-) I don't mind either way but certainly I've had comments that reflect divided opinions on the subject and I've seen a fair few with a laminate or vinyl overlay! Cheers, Gary :-)
Update on the Epiphone worn les Paul classic , delivered by parcel force . I’m pleased to say all is well , so it will be off to my guitar tech at the end of next week , cheers mate take it easy
Hi John and thanks for the update :-) I have no doubt that when it returns from your tech it will be totally transformed so enjoy the experience! Cheers, Gary :-~)
Thanks for the share. Probably would have started installing the new tuners with the E-strings as the straight edge would have been more effective and unencumbered? Any idea of the weight difference between the G Force and the Grovers? I would love to know if that's possible. Cheers!!
@@FoxysGuitarShow That is so kind of you, sir! Thank you for taking the time to share that. I'm about to receive a Gibson SG that happens to have this tuning system installed. With your helpful video, I'll have no problem getting that thing swapped out for something else. Many thanks again!!!
Hi Village Global :-) You most certainly can. When you remove the G Force system it leaves no evidence of anything having been there. Just make sure you get the correct size and it's plain sailing. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hahahahahaha, hi JonBon :-) Have you seen the price of these things recently???? You used to be able to get them for about £85 but those days are long gone. Way over £200 new and at least £125 on the used market. I totally agree with you on this one. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Chit and thanks mate :-) They're not the prettiest of headstock furniture, that's for sure. I reckon if you can change a plug or fit a tap washer you'll be ok swapping these out. Just common sense, a steady hand and 6 pints of strong lager should do the trick. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Lavpat :-) Your local guitar tech wouldn't charge a great deal for this service and Grovers currently come in at £59 from G4M plus shipping. Cheers, Gary :-)
Shame Gibson changed too much in one go in 2015. All the kneejerk hatred for the least appreciated changes lost sight of the genuinely good innovations and alterations, that did improve 2015 guitars. Personally, as an old bloke who grew up with British made Guitars, I think the adjustable zero fret is a stroke of genius, which should have been more widely adopted by the guitar industry.
Hi Gary :-) I'm 100% on board with you on the zero fret theory. Adjustable nut and zero fret is a brilliant idea and when they first brought them out, replacements were only £5 or so. In many ways, a regular nut has to act as both a nut and string guide and the problem used to be that once the zero fret was toasted it was a pain to replace - but not with this 'drop-in' feature. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Mr W :-) Yes, I reckon Gibson tried their best and, let's face it, one doesn't move forward by standing still, so every credit to them for having a go but I reckon guitarists are slightly neanderthal in this regard. Turn knob, alter pitch, job done.....if you see what I mean. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi JonBon and yes, I'm averse to change in some respects, too. TBH, I'd have preferred to have seen a nice 12th fret inlay to celebrate the occasion. Cheers, Gary :-)

I feel the les paul junior with the signature looks cool

Hi Sammy :-) Grovers weigh 317g with the packaging so I'm guessing about 300g without and the G-Force weighs exactly 300g also! Cheers, Gary :-)

Very interesting.
Hi Tom and thanks :-) Hope it was useful. Cheers, Gary :-)
Can you swap a g force tuner for deluxe vintage tuners that have 2 screws?
Hi Village Global :-) You most certainly can. When you remove the G Force system it leaves no evidence of anything having been there. Just make sure you get the correct size and it's plain sailing. Cheers, Gary :-)
what is wrong with people. if someone near me wishes to sell them for cheap. I snatch them all up.
viva el G force!!!!

Transformed from an ugly factory tuner headstock set up to beautiful one ,well done.

can you give me the trade of grovers please

I too dislike the the les paul signature. however I don't care enough to do anything about it. guitars should be unchanged as possible. ta ta for now
