Man I want to express my gratitude for your knowledge. I have invested around $200k in studio equipment for my business and it can be very challenging when you've purchased the latest hardware and software that hasn't been out that long. Sweetwater does offer techinal assistance and will tap into your cpu to correct any issues you may encounter from gear you purchased from them. Thanks again!!! Peace & Blessings
Absolute Pro Tools Beginner here - - - but dear Wavy Wayne, you are the most knowledgeable, structured and exemplary mind out there. A born teacher. The way you explain is crystal clear, it makes sense, you take panic & fear out of the equation - - - and it works!!! THANK YOU!!!
Bless you for this video. I just got ProTools in December 2023. Every time I need a quick guide, your videos are the 1st to pop up! Also, my clientele has been more consistent ever since I purchased the software. Bless bro, frfr. 🙏🏽
Bruh, I appreciate the lesson I've be saying stems for years, because everyone else was saying stems. I learned years ago what stems were but I would not correct anyone because I never knew the term Track Out. I will say it right from now on. Thanks.
Wavy Wayne is the GOAT! Been off PT for 5 years and couldn’t remember how to send separate tracks, WW has everything you need here to get the job done quickly and correct. Thanks!! 🙏🏼
A topic I rarely see anybody talk about yet I feel is really important is about song related file management. How to organize your unfinished and finished projects? How to make sure you can open your projects and not have anything missing in 10 years? What about backups? It'd be nice hearing you talk about this
bro you explain with clarity in all your tutorial videos, i learnt a lot from you just watching and following step by step. i will always be liking and sharing your videos, keep up the good work king 💯💪
thorough, -- and easy to follow..- i'm an ableton till i die guy LOL -- constantly receiving unconsolidated pt files.. - now that i have pro tools.. i can open the session & do this myself.. appreciated sir,,- thank u
I did not understand stems properly until this. I thought they were all the individual tracks. So the stems are more like groups if you use groups in PT, I see. Thanks again!
coated with the explanation and connection! some of these channels just breeze over the parts that you explain more clearly!!! keep it up man Im learning a lot from your channel!!
Awesome video 😲 Shift+; made it all worth it alone 🤯 I have been left-clicking and dragging for YEARS!!! (Too engrossed in the actual recording side of things to read the manual 🤣😔) Seriously, you have an incredible wealth of knowledge. I'm eternally grateful that you take the time to make these videos and share what you know. Now I'm excited beyond words to hit up Pro Tools in a minute and..... Shift+; 😄!!!!! Thanks Wayne! Stay dope 👊🙏🏼
Now this is what you call a Jedi guide. Thanks mane. Am from Africa, not enough money to subscribe to learn from you but your video sure are improving me day in and day out
You are the real deal, Wave! Do you know how much time you just saved me? I was almost about to buy that Windoze thang that translates sessions but I have a Mac so I would have had to run some kind of emulator. In 3 minutes you just eliminated all that. If I could give you 5 thumbs up I would! 🙏🏾
Great content! I like to "duplicate playlist" before I consolidate, that way I don't have to "save as" or undo. I just flip back to the playlist with all the cuts when I'm done.
@@Dieseldon313 Depends on who you ask... Me personally, I prefer to work with the 2Track Wav/Mp3 during the recording process and when it's time to arrange or mix I like to have the track out. The producer(s) may have elements in the beat that I want to take out, rearrange, and/or mix differently than the way that they approached it.
@@Dieseldon313 no worries, you can’t know what you don’t know lol… If you don’t plan to make any changes to the arrangement of the beat then sending the track out outside of the session should be fine.
@@Dieseldon313 I don't usually judge input level based on the size of my waveforms. But here's a run through how I approach input levels. 1) I make sure that my meters are displaying pro tools classic. Different meter types will display different readings. To do this, right click the meter and select "Pro Tools Classic" 2) When I input a beat. the first thing I do before recording is add the "Trim" plugin and turn it down anywhere between -6 and -12. Use your own judgement for this one. You can also get this same result by using the clip gain on the waveform. 3) I'm not shooting for a particular number for my input. I just want the loudest part of the vocal performance to average somewhere between 70-80% of the pro tools classic meter. 4) If all levels look and SOUND correct but the waveform still looks small. I hold "option + shift" (idk the windows equivalent) and with my scroll wheel I can increase or decrease the size of my the waveforms in the session without increasing or decreasing the clip gain.
I say once I will say again my guy is doing gods work so much good info every time I click on any of your video ..my only ? Is why my guys channels don’t have millions of subs … I’m assuming everybody a super duper producer already 😵💫⛽️
Just subscribed. Thank you for this! I'm a long time Logic user, but need to import ProTools content from my collaborators. I had no idea how to do this!
Great Explanations Of Stems and Track Outs... I Thought They Were The Same To, Until Now... Also Just Learned About STEM MASTERING with STEM CREATOR...It All Makes A HUGE Difference. 👍🏽👍🏽 Better Late Than NEVER.😁
Right. I send STEMS to my mastering engineer, but I encourage client's to give me the track out to mix,. I like to have total control of the mix pieces. Thanks for sharing
You Always have great helpful videos and I never have to worry that the Title of the video not matching the content......its nothing more frustrating than finding a video you and you thinking its exactly what your trying to figure out, you start watching and they are completely off topic or they just show themselves doing it with out explaining what they did
Aye I appreciate this video fam 💯 I don’t need it because I know this but when people try to send me stems to mix I’m sending them this link 🤣 the amount of time I’ve spent FaceTiming people to teach them this is crazy ‼️ #logicgang
I'm on pc don't see an option to export clips as files only selected tracks as new session or as aaf omf. Edit: I had to use shortcut ctrl-shift-k export as wav. interleaved. Thanks family you top tier Wayne I'm subbing.
Man had this problem bad yesterday bro, sent a guy stems who works on Logic, while I use pro tools, and they were all scattered. Even with me thinking I was exporting them right doing the save copy in method. Going to try this method today 🙏🏾
in Reason or Studio one you do not have to consolidate. You just go to option call stems and it will export them exactly what you showing. Good video my G
Hi why every time I import mono stem files from a client they appear in protools in stereo, I'm trying to figure away without always having to split files. Any better solutions?
Good Word My Brother! What is the best way to send? Is a shared Dropbox better than a Drive acct? Should the trakouts be zipped before sending? Dear Wavy Wayne, I have a pro tools session ready to send for use with another DAW. When i highlight the tracks as per your video then go to edit consolidation is greyed out ??
