i actually do use the double tap pass through quite a bit, if someone knocks on my door i can turn on pass through, look in their direction and at least pretend i'm paying attention to them.
Facts. Ive never accidentally turned it on…if it becomes a problem, I’ll probably turn it off, it until then…stays on. Lol
Same, I'm not even sure how you would even accidently activate it.
I could not disagree more about disabling notifications. As someone who works from home, this feature is critical with me and insanely useful.

Great video. Not everyone is comfortable with the standard settings, and I personally, always want to switch as many privacy settings as possible. I am not young, but certainly not old, so it's a principle thing for me.

What's weird is VR is actually the only time I use controller vibrations. You said it was one of the worst vibrations but to me it really is important in VR but xbox/playstation controllers vibration is bad. Might just be because I play Beat Saber though

I'll agree on the space sense. Good idea in theory, but also I have a *ceiling fan* right above me and I've never been more aware of it in my entire life
Desperately need vibration on though because my vision sucks + my glasses are too thick for prescription inserts so I need all the non-visual feedback I can get

I totally agree with most of these, but there's no way I'd turn off vibration 😅 I need that BZZZZZZZ when I touch my beat sabers together!
Haptic feedback makes and breaks games, tbh. I returned one of the Wolverine V2 I bought for my Series X specifically and strictly because it doesn't have any sort of vibration.
It really really kills the immersion in most games these days not to have the vibration turned on.

Edit: I like the vibration on the Quest 2 controllers. It feels a lot better than I was expecting. Another bad point on this list.
Thanks for your feedback. I personally don’t like the vibrations and always turn it off, vr or not. And for the double tap pass through, I can see how it’s useful but I personally don’t really like it much

I suppose its per person, As i never use it, you can see through the gap anyway by tilting ur head back slightly. It becomes very annoying and its activated to easily.

All is good.. only vibration thingy i like the feel of it in many games
i have all of these on,
"It will listen to your voice!" like it isnt already 24/7. (You have a phone.)
"Turn off double tap passthrough", Why? It never turns on unless you touch the side of your headset. And it is TAP. Not violently punch your headset. I usually gently tap the side of my controller if somebody irl is needing my attention.
Space sense isnt bad if you put it on the right setting, Along with its adjustable with 3 settings. Adjust as need.
Controller vibrations are really immersive, Enjoyable! If your controllers are "Dying all the time!" get a charging dock or use rechargables/have more batteries. It doesnt take long to swap the batteries, But i do understand turning it down (not off though!)
Recording, why would you use it? The only use i see for it is showing your friends quick clips. Not making entire videos. If you want that done, Link cable and pc! I think thats pretty simple. Or use Airlink since nobody likes a wire on their head. Recording just makes most VR experiences unplayable or unenjoyable during. Making hour long footage on your pc is probably much more efficient than having to transfer hundreds of clips to your pc with your phone.
Permissions, Why? Understandable you should know what apps have access to your device, (Especially app labs or otherwise sketchy apps,) But some apps may have valid reasons or restrict features, I feel like it would just be a drag to open up settings for that reason and block the permissions, If its sketchy, Block the whole thing! Uninstall!

When I had double tap pass through on it would work when I didn’t want to use it and when I did it would take like 10 tries

I just didn't sync up anything when I got my quest 2 a couple days ago. Majority of these either don't matter or were off by default cause I just used a fresh email. Lol

For the space sence bro is going easy on it it outlines things that are not even in the boundary zone which makes it completely useless because there’s already a setting which makes you see if you’re outside the boundary Zone or not
with the wifi bands you could be wrong if the signal to the 5ghz networkis weak youd be better off on 2.4 ideally you'd need to be in the same room as the router for any benefit and that's providing you have good broadband

I was on youtube vr and puased a video to look at my phone real quick, I had the headset halfway on and could still see the screen ,and while the video was puased I could hear someone whispering something, and when i said hey (this is not a joke) a voice that I'm pretty sure was the tf2 heavy says hey back aggressively and says you have 5 seconds ro go back to bed when he started counting I turned off the headset. Has anyone experienced something like this??

Speaking of loud sudden noises, this video was full of them with those unabated sound-bytes, which were in very high contrast to your oddly soft spoked voice. As i tried to watch this somewhat quietly in my house with paper thin walls

I have 6g on my magenta speedport 4 on my phone i have so the data it is like 5g too

only thing this video did was introduce me to a feature i ended up turning ON
Facebook put my first name and I had to get my email and password that I put on oculus and it put my first name on their on oculus and then people say my name and I got to not let them say my first name.
Dont have a 5g connection and every 5g connection ive tried to connect to didn't have service.
not even a minute in I have to prove a point, (not hate btw) most voice commands or voice assistants only actually start listening and recognizing words if you say a wake word, like hey Google, hey Siri, or hey meta etc and while your not saying the wake word, aka not trying to talk to the assistant the rest of the device is off, until you say the wake word
The WiFi tip is misleading. Although 5G is better for gaming, it is not great at penetrating walls. So in some situations 2G is better!
1:53 i wouldn't say nobody asked for it, u can use the voice assistant to launch games, like "hey facebook launch beat saber" and it launches it 'hey facebook turn of the headset" and it does it, navigating in very Ui is hell and using your voice helps its not like a phone where u can easliy scroll through the settings, its easier to launch a game like dat rather than scroling down with the touch controllers which is a waste of time

I simply don't use any application or device that doesn't have some form of dark mode if the background isn't already,.
Or how about not smacking the side of your headset twice in a row? I've had my quest 2 since launch and only bumped into passthrough like 2 times, and it's been years. But since I have glasses and knowing you can't just, "Slide it up on your forehead" with glasses on, I enjoy the ability to tap the side twice to see something irl, like turning on a fan or grabbing the phone. So I'm not turning it off.

Nah leaving the mic on can might just drain its battery because just like PlayStation it’s gonna keep the mic running just in case you use voice commands

pass through is often disabled on the menu
double tap works almost every time
i rarely have any issues and they dont last longer then a couple seconds
also space sense isnt bad
altho i kinda prefer xr room objects
also i think that is also on the quick menu so i turned it off any time i didnt want it

The issue isn't with these individual games having access to your info, it's those companies collecting that info and selling it off. The more information you share either actively or passively through open privacy settings, the clearer image someone can get of your digital fingerprint. All the information about you gathered from various sources collected and sold together, for any company to abuse in any way. 99% of the time this data is just used to sell you more products, more accurate ads etc. However in future, employers could access this data, see something they don't like, and automatically flag your job application before they even see your CV.
It's a little thing called principle. Not everyone using these headsets are young and so carefree.

My controller's battery life last almost a month, before I have to change them, and I play my quest a few hours everyday. Not turning off vibration. These are just weird "MUST TURN OFFs."
