I totally understand this - but there is really really no excuse for the 2GB ram. That is probably the worst thing about the Key 37. Even $130 Cell Phones I bought 2 years ago had 4+ GB. So no horse poo talk please...

I've been watching you since the first video you made. I don't know around that time I saw your MPC videos and they helped me a lot to handle it in a different way, you taught me to love the thing that makes practically everything musical and I appreciate that a lot. This MPC key 37 is a good business move for small home studios, although today any home studio already has very professional and advanced things. We never had MPC's with CV's, not really, and that for my original '78 KorgMS-20 is a sold miracle. Do you know how many hours I spend with the MPC Key 61 and MS20? I start on Fridays and don't finish until Sunday, obviously with rest, but during the day I do that because I don't work on weekends and I take advantage of making music just with this. Well, for me, even doing things live to try out seems so inspiring that sometimes I think that my perfect equipment is an MPC of these characteristics and an analog synthesizer like the Korg MS-20. I also have a Beringer 2600 on the way for less than 500 dollars, and this is going to be the one that gives me all those more classic electro sounds, that thing, although it doesn't sound like an original ARP, it does everything. The idea is to sequence this machine with finished arrangements and play it live with linear sequences, to vary with the faders of the 2600 and the FX type kaos pad of the MPC. It's great that the MPC 37 exists, many will be able to do things live with just this and an analog or digital machine via the MIDI connection. Thanks for this video. 😅👍
You can use kontakt libraries and reaktor ensembles on the maschine+ which technically means you could create your own instruments and plugins to work for it in standalone, although it does have it's limitations. obviously.
I have been on the fence about grabbing my second MPC. I have my old boy The 2000. I keep hearing mixed reviews about the newer models. I am thinking about starting with The 37.

Dude, I actually traded my MPK 49 in guitar Center years ago left so you know I took a bath on that trade) for a special edition, a red MPK 249 because one I loved the 16 pads instead of the 12 two they felt much better and it was red, beautiful, bright red! And of course they brought the MPC one plus and it’s red so that tempted me… And now this little 37 is tempting me because of the red. I’d almost get rid of my MPC one to get that unit. I always end up. Plugging a controller into it anyway why not have it all in one device. Just my thought this was wicked good that you just played. I’m definitely gonna check out some of his videos. I feel we got shafted with the Akai 61. This 2024 and you can’t use 16 tracks. A Fantom X was doing that in 2005. The sounds are cool but for the price I paid new should be on another level. I still love it, nowadays I’m rocking with my live 2k

You can make your own battery yourself. I believe the machine is 12 volt DC at 30 Amps. Just find a recharcheblable battery of the same wattage and voltage, hook up a DC plug to both ends and plug it into the MPC. As far as charging, you can use a variable voltage inverter to do the charging when not in use. My main focus tho is, how can I upgrade the Ram?

I agree on the built in mic. I have a 13 year old compact Zoom r16 with built in stereo mic’s, 8combo xlr’s with 48v phantom power. I do live band recording with it and it sounds great. be honest. This thing is for beginners not seasoned professionals. I sent mines back today. Slow to load stored VST’s, can’t update firmware via WiFi. Everybody had the update problem but nobody is talking about it. Then in controller mode every button I touched played a note.
I wish they would make one look mature like the old gear. Better muted colors and some wood sides maybe. This looks like it’s for kids to me. All in all dope design and functionality but I know I’m not the only one that wants an old school look.
The battery is the only reason I wouldn’t get this. You don’t need speakers because you could use headphones, xlr can be achieved with adapters or interface, but a portable device that’s not battery powered makes no sense. A mpc live and a $100 controller makes more sense. And they could have made up for it with better a little more ram to kind of refresh the line of products and give a little incentive to buy. It’s pretty tho
