Hi! Before you rip me apart please read this. If your comment isn't addressed I'd love to hear it. 1. I know Hong Kong and South Korea are different places. I lived in Hong Kong for 18 months. What I was so poorly trying to refer to in the video was how I worked with a lot of clients on KPOP. I misspoke. 2. Compressors and auto-tune are completely different things. I was not talking about auto-tune, I was talking about compressors. Compressors are often used in live and studio environments. They are not a bad thing, they are a good thing. I thought that singer was fine in both clips. 3. I don't know everything, but I have spent an enormous amount of time learning what I know. I am actually a professional voice teacher. My students make progress every lesson. I'm not perfect but I'm always trying to learn. Thank you for watching!
he's very honest, he doesn't care to the fact that there is a high possibility that the fans will diss and hate him. THANK YOU FOR BEING HONEST AND FOR BEING PROFESSIONAL
It's this reason why so many artists can't actually grow. Their fans are limiting them. It's not just "haters" who have bad experiences with fans that have taken things way too far. So many artists have been attacked by their own fan base because they changed from the person they expected them to be. True artists have multiple phases of their careers.
I want to know the opinions of professional vocal coaches. Do you think this singer’s voice is good objectively speaking? Please watch the 4 videos below. ua-cam.com/video/YiW-bddhWyM/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/DF_ypFrjDm0/v-deo.html For the 2 videos below, please listen to the character with yellow hair in pigtails ua-cam.com/video/ESc42Bw27cI/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/muhfAvaJ4kg/v-deo.html
The difference I find between Sam and other vocal coaches on UA-cam is he actually explains what is causing the issues rather than just saying "they should have made this sound".
BLACK PINK yeah but some people tend to not accept it and say that their faves are flawless and perfect when they’re not, that’s what the person was trying to say
He did a review with Mamamoo and he said that it's nice to listen and watch them since they are not forcing anything. as they really have great technique and they know how to play with their voice with out the audience being worried if they can pull those notes and just enjoy the performance.
vkook trash The only other I know is Tristan Paredes and he's someone you should never trust if you want truthful criticism for kpop. He literally keeps sugarcoating the popular groups, puts EXO's vocal line against BTS's then acts like a victim when EXO-Ls got mad at him for literally trying to say BTS's can beat EXO lmao, he even got into a fight with Ahmin from Kpopvocalanalysis.
Yeah I feel like a lot of reactions are scared of the kpop army lighting up their comments with "OPPA IS PERF" so they aren't honest. I appropriate him being honest as someone that's trying to learn more about singing and enjoys kpop too!
Professionalism at its finest. It makes me laugh how some fans overreact just because their group gets criticized. It’s educational to watch comparisons because it gives so much room for improvement. Not everything can be pulled off by looking cutesy tootsie lol.
exactly, interestingly he always pause and comment at SM top vocalist but I wasn't even get annoyed coz he was right at some parts. it just shows SM still make their artist sing live ...and so they can show some improvement the next time they sung it live. it made them wise enough to control their vocals and make adjustment if necessary when they aren't in good condition.
@@melissadelacruz735 I don't think he was favouring SM artists its just the trend of unsustainable notes is common in SM songs so there's going to be more cases of poor technique he can comment on.
"she knows how to sing ,it's just she gets in her head" wow that hit me because after all the bullying Taeyeon jas gotten over the years she has said she often get really nervous and scared at her performances and even tho she's an amazing artist it shows and even people who don't even know her can guess at first glance ....
ik, that’s actually pretty sad. she is so talented but i wish she would have more confidence in herself like in the second clip, it really makes her shine and her vocals are so nice when she is confident
@@lozza821 I don't think it's about confident. At this rate confident isn't something to deal about for her. Maybe she was too emotional or not in the good mood
@@isti18I heard females often aren't as good at singing when it's near that time of the month. Vibrato becomes more difficult to pull off and such, so maybe it was just an off day?
I like how honest he is and how he indeed coments about technique. Other people, put "vocal teacher, vocal coach, singing teacher..." in their video but just praise the singer and talk about very subjective things to satisfy the fans. I loved the video XD
True...He is the only one that actually knows knowledge....these "vocal teacher" just say some gibberish that sounds like they know something but in reality they dont know shit
Gosh I love this guy, because he seems to actually give out his actual opinion as a professional voice teacher. Other voice coaches that I observed, seems to not like give out honest opinions because they seems to bias kpop. Or somewhat like that.
I think a big part of the problem is they don't teach proper vocal technique when they train idols. With good technique they won't have to switch during notes or strain, etc. But they just teach them how to reach notes by any means necessary. Better technique will make your voice last longer as well.
That and also the fact that most kpop songs just HAD to have super high notes doesn't help as well. You can train all you want but some notes are just beyond reach esp for boys. And the fact that most kpop fans think that wide range = good vocalist is also not helping at all. Why showing off high notes when you can't reach it correctly.
True I think torque is needed for idols they should teach them not to be the best at vocals but to be smart on how to sing it so that they wont damage their voice
seriously! I agreed with him so hard when he said that they use their voices in ways that they aren't comfortable with. even eungkwan from BTOB improved after he did some work in musicals, and he's like the king of high notes... it just made him more powerful. give them proper vocal training!!
I'm not gonna lie I skipped some parts of his talking because I didn't understand a doggone word of his musical jargon 😂😂 i really just wanted to see the best/worst parts lol
"She knows how to sing, it just gets in her head." As a SONE since 2009, this sentence just hurts a lot, seeing Taeyeon sometimes explain her anxious on stage and the ongoing depression, I just wish she can sing freely with no worries
None of Your Business Yet, he’s getting a lot of views recently. Another example: Jeffree Star, who has no qualms about being brutally honest, no matter how many people disagree. Anyway, this professional is technical, and it’s refreshing.
Taeyeon is such a good vocalist, you can just tell by how comfortable she looks. She just doesn't fear the high notes or harder parts bc she knows she can handle it. Such a gem.
SecretlyRian he legit said she knows how to sing but gets in her head. Implying some of her high notes tend to be off because she’s nervous about hitting them. You clearly didn’t watch the video.
my one word for Taeyeon is always, 'reliable'. I'm so glad I watched the drama Hong Gil Dong in 2008, because I discovered Taeyeon through the OST, and thus Girls' Generation. In the words of Choi Sooyoung, "I'm so glad my main vocalist is you" :')))
Finally a genuine reaction! I noticed all vocal coach reaction to kpop vocals all seem fake cause they know how big the kpop community is and they are afraid to get hate so they don't give a real opinion.
This's not important. She just doesn't care about bad-mouthings surrounding now so do we. Only does she prove that she deserves what she got . All she need is love from us who always support her. ☺️
As a musician (mainly a pianist, but I’ve also had around seven years of choral vocal training) AND a K-pop lover, I really appreciate this video! People get so offended when I try to tell them when their favorite idol is having trouble hitting a high note. I’m really just commenting on what I’m hearing and the technique that they’re using.
That's cool to hear! I'm a fan of EXO and I'm curious who you think is best out of Chen, D.O. And Baekhyun. (Please order 1-3 and give a little explanation) thanksss
I love how many people who sing or know music really well all make the same cringe face when they know that someone has messed up vocally. It's like we can feel the pain of that note in our souls when it hits because most of us have been there.
Yes sometimes EXO like to joke when they know their voice is going to crack or something... once 1 member sang flat to joke and they all went flat and it went funny 🤣 Their vocal trainer is really strict, in 2018 they don't do these mistake
Love5 are you talking about the time chanyeol forgot to say what he had to say in Japanese, Baekhyun imitated and then, the rest of the member followed. It was chnayeol's one of the blank out moment though. Correct me if I am wrong or it's not what you are talking about☻
Taeyeon, probably. If you're talking about the last one. The clip in 4:58, Joy was sick too, but she can go really well when SM give her the right lines to work with.
Someone who isn't a huge fan won't really know that she's sick from one clip haha, it's just when you get in your head while you're singing you second guess yourself and that can cause tension in the vocal cords which leads to problems!
He didn't even say anything about Jimin. Just facts. And the facts weren't mean. He didn't say Jimin was a bad vocalist, his technique just isn't amazing. We all know Jimin can sing, he just needs a bit more vocal work than other idols to do it well and not strain himself and I see NO problem with that. Improving is a wonderful thing. Theres nothing to be ashamed about.
I totally agree! When he pointed out how fearful Jimin was I was like: yep you are exactly right! Jimin was so insecure about his voice and that has been his problem not if he can sing or not! If you have noticed, recently Jimin has become a stronger vocalist and I know it's because he has become more and more confident in his voice! He is not 100% confident but he is almost there and that is awesome! I admire Jimin, because he has shown a lot of courage in this area and to work out his insecurities in front of the whole world is even more amazing!
We all know the vocalists in bts have ASKED so many times to get better vocal coaching and that bh has just said no, that their struggle sounds better. it’s really sad because them straining and struggling is going to hurt them all in the long run
kmtae not trying to be rude, but where are you getting your info? They were never denied skilled vocal coaches. How do you think Jungkook learned how to add emotion, how V learned more vocal sounds, how Jin became so stable and can consistently hit high notes. For Jimin, he’s made amazing improvements. From their Burn the Stage series, they talk about Jimin wanting more time to practice with the vocal coach...but, his vocal chords are, he’s prone to vocal strain and losing his voice if he overuses it. That’s why they have to be strategic with his practice time.
Breana OK they probably had that before and were taught that before. but during the fake love comeback jimin and seokjin both said bang pd said no to getting a vocal coach because their high note sounded better when he strained. twitter.com/angelvocalksj/status/1003697649239724034?s=21 edit: i forgot to add. i am not saying their vocals are bad, none of them are in my opinion but then again i’m not a professional. i think their voices are very pretty and impact me emotionally. all i’m saying is that the constant strain they put on their voices can hurt them
@@kmbkgs What you said was Jins words taken out of context , so please try again! In truth we do not know how much vocal training they could afford in the past or that they've actually had, but I can remember Jimin saying during one of his earlier vlogs that he had voice lessons! BTS is Big Hits cash cow and has been for years now so I don't think they would even think about ruining their meal tickets vocals! Jin talked about one song that was difficult for him to sing, because of how high the octave was and he was encouraged to push through to deliver the great results that he did! Pushing one's self vocally will not damage the cords if done correctly!
It's funny you commented about the one guy going whiny with his high note to make it work. Chen has a reputation in EXO of whining/sounding whiny when he speaks.
one thing that bothers me when someone makes a video about best vocals is that they only include high pitch..... people know low singing voice can also be difficult right?
Only people who really understand music know how hard it is to hit a low note and not many people can hit these notes so if you can you are really special
i always thought head voice is pretty simple? like singing high in chest voice is hard, but head voice? eh? im not saying its not hard its just... i dont have a stance about the low notes, but i do think they are in some cases very hard I had like a whole idea about like videos on stable vocals and all but i got distracted and forgot everything dammit
Hitting low notes is as much as a struggle as hitting high notes is. You can tell when someone can't hit lows and it sounds terrible, while with highs notes there are times where you can save it.
An example would be Stone Cold by Demi. Obviously she has some decently high belts, but if she couldn't execute the low notes during the verses it'd be pretty lackluster.
the fact that even a first time listener like him can tell that Baekhyun is a joker and its just one of those days where he knows his condition is not 100% but he still goes for the notes regardless. about the chen highnote in monster, the first clip, it was something with the mic bcz in fancams you can hear his note clearly where his voice didnt crack so that clip is inaccurate.
YerinDubs I am not sure who you are asking about but I will tell of both. Chen's voice didn't actually crack it was a technical issue bcz his voice sounds completely normal in fancams. For Baekhyun he just likes to play around with his voice so much so he does crazy things and it does affect him but he tries not to let it get to him even if his voice cracked sometimes. He goes for it anyways and mostly he nails it.
he is not a baby he is a grown ass man, and it's time for people to start treating him and other idols as so. god its so cringe when people baby idols like this-
This video was honestly very educational. Like before I didn’t see anything wrong with their high notes but now that you mention how they pull off after the note I started to notice that. I was wondering if you could react to jimin’s high notes because in my opinion I really feel like he’s straining his voice in them, I’m curious if I’m right.
xuximytuxi UwU in my opinion, he does. (im not like 100% sure, but i do take vocal lessons and i have been trained on how to not strain since that was how i used to sing before lol) bts in general doesnt have good vocal training and mostly dont use proper technique. its really saddening how they also dont even have enough time to properly train their vocals since they're alwasy so busy nowadays :((
Him noticing how nervous Jimin is hit me really hard.. He always brings himself down so much instead of trusting in himself even though he has such a great voice :/
Can army chill for once? What he said about Jimin was correct, sorry the truth hurts. Jimin does need vocal work, but that doesn't mean he's a terrible singer either. Giving this man hate because he gave Jimin constructive criticism is so immature.
I like that he explains what happened that made their voice so *eh* unlike the other videos where their like "Oh their so good" and not even properly reacting to their bad and good vocals. (Also I like the fact that he's using the piano to find what note their using)
I absolutely love your videos! They are extremely interesting and informative, but never mean. You always explain everything and give just constructive criticism when needed/justified. I really appreciate that. I really consider taking singing lessons now. I grew up with (mostly classical) music and play cello and a little bit piano but always loved singing, especially in choirs. Will have a look at voice teachers in Hamburg! Keep up the great work and all the best from Germany!
9:37 to jimin - *"u see he's soo nervous, none of these guys trust their technique"* wow how did he know that Jimin has problems with trusting himself and his nerves with his high notes?!? I APPLAUD HE IS AMAZING! EDIT : Wow people really don't really know how to read. I'm an army and I really hate this fandom sometimes bcuz of this reason. I didn't criticize Jimin or anything like that if u watched burn the stage or other clip of JM voicing his opinions about his vocals he said he gets nervous about his notes and his high notes and all I did was compliment the vocal coach for pointing that out or making note of that bcuz of how well he did it just by watching and listening to jimin. I apologise for any misunderstanding but all I did was compliment the vocal couch and not criticize jm. Those people/ army's need to read again and stop bashing ppl of they said smthg hateful bout their artists cuz they need to deal with the internet being like this (not saying that I have said anything against BTS or any hater) and those ppl who understood my original comment and tried to clear up the misunderstanding I thank u and appreciate it efforts.
When he talked about Jimin post production I was like "oh no, I wont even read the comments cause the young army kids will throw a fit". I am an army, actually, but everyone knows the fandom grew to the "little girls who dont quite know how to live in real world yet" point, so I just want to say sorry for this channel owner for whatever they did and will do in the future.
Mariana ME TOO I was annoyed at the vid editor for not choosing a better video (cuz there are so many out there) but the live stages are always post production for almost any artist and I knew some armys were gonna lose it
@@PurpleMoon799 I never did. Again, I'm the fandom too. But as it grew it caught the attention of a lot of young people, there is no way to deny there is a lot of little girls in the fandom (like justin bieber fandom instead of other kpop groups fandons)... But than, if you cant see that is probably because you are one of them, isnt?
@@PurpleMoon799 Why are you calling her as "dumb bitch"? I don't think you're 19 after this comment, because you really sounds like a little, immature girl :)
We also need to realise that vocal teachers and coaches, etc., people who work with and study these things, hear things differently than your average music/kpop loving person. A lot of notes that he cringes at, some people like. We're really dealing with different perspectives here and unfortunately most kpop fans are incapable of realising and accepting that.
love how he repeated Chen's part in Monster liiiike, even strangers know he's got it, our high note vocal legend Kim Jongdae🤩 And his worst was bc fans were literally sCREAMING they couldn't be heard so he had to pick it up a notch but he sang (screamed) basically a minute or two into the song, so his voice got all raspy :< that Monster stage was indeed the worst one :')
Jimin has a lovely voice but sadly, due to his training and the groups focus on hip-hop, his voice never got the correct training, therefore his vocal technique can tend to be very bad e.g. you can hear how much strain there is in his high notes, even to this day. It upsets me that he didn't have the time to train and sort his voice out; it can be really damaging to hurt it like that, but he has honestly improved so much.
Jenamy also not to mention the amount of doubt and lack of confidence he has. I really wish he would understand that he really does have an amazing voice.
Sugas Toothbrush I think his insecurities also stop him from trying to improve sadly. Yes, there has been major improvement since debut, but the last year or so, there hasn't been much (except the how he has become slightly more stable with his falsetto and head voice) and honestly worries me. Yes, it could just be the fact that he's tired, but I genuinely believe that it is also because of insecurity/ lack of confidence. I also think BigHit should ok invest in getting the boys better vocal and voice coaches with all the money they're taking in, by the looks of it, they only use it to make the music videos fancier. With better teachers, the vocal line could really go far and just been under that of maybe EXO, Nuest, NCT and Seventeen (hoarders of this generations best male vocalists, in my opinion) in terms of technique.
Jenamy Honestly I agree that his insecurities are one of the reasons he doesn’t improve as much, he’s scared to take chances and not only does that worry me on a musical level but on a just down to earth level. Nobody should have insecurities holding them back from doing something they love. Also yeah maybe better vocal coaches could be of some use but they’ve been a family for so long I think it’d be hard to find someone new for them, plus it’s more so that with they’re successes comes busy schedules that may intervene with when they want to practice. As for some of the best vocalist I do think Chen is flippin amazing and NCT in general has a great vocal line, but I really enjoy Infinite’s vocal line too from stability to harmonization.
Please dont hesitate to voice out your professional opinions on their vocals. Fans can get pretty defensive to protect their idols' image. Honestly it feels fresh to hear opinions from a pro and not completely biased as you genuinely focus on their vocals only. Pls keep this way of commenting since you've nothing to lose even though they come at your throat 😂 P/s: it would be great if you can make a video on nct's vocals. Been wanting to know your opinion on their voices especially the top vocalists in the group if you dont mind.
wow thanks for actually being critical of vocals and not being afraid of fans lol also thank you for actually talking about the vocals not like other channels calling themselves vocal trainers and then not even comment on the vocals or use any jargon lol
Joy's part was sad because she was actually ill at the time and was so hard on herself afterwards. It's a shame that people include clips of someone who was sick in these kinds of compilations. Joy explained: “2 weeks before our comeback I had problems with my vocal chords. It sounded like my voice was cracking. It was really hard because when I tried to sing a note, it wouldn’t come out. I really wanted to do well during live performances. I practiced a lot, and I cried and went through a lot of internal struggle.” If you watch Joy perform on "The King of the Masked Singer" (where she made it to the next round) or the vocal line perform on "Immortal Songs" you can see her talent when she isn't ill. I hope Joy continues to build back her confidence because her voice is so unique and beautiful.
Lol I’m a huge BTS stan but this man is telling the truth about Jimin. BTS doesn’t have the best vocals. They still have a lot of work to do on their voices. Now, they’re all great singers, but they have their moments when their voices don’t do very well. Jimins voice is very delicate and light, and sometimes when he’s dancing so much and he’s so insecure about his voice, it tends to crack or come out pitchy. And the “Best” one for Jimin I’m BST definitely wasn’t 100% natural. Sorry, but it’s the truth.
Even though I’m a huge army and have lived bts from almost at debut, jimin grew up around hiphop and he does feel insecure about his vocals (like in burn the stage) and I understand your criticism and I say well done to you because considering some people being touchy about this, you were honest and I like that. Imma subscribe. I also understand the vocal stuff because since I’m going into a career that requires a lot of singing, i had to get a vocal coach and I love their constructive criticism because I learn. Some people just need to understand that criticism doesn’t mean to hurt someone, but to show them ways to improve.
i agree. im a huge army and jimin is my UB but sometimes his voice is not at its best, and he even said during burn the stage how he works with a vocal coach and does his best to improve. these days i believe he's much better. the Fire and BST performances were from a while ago, so an up to date stage would be nice to review. i think it'd be cool to see an analysis of his vocals after the next sold out world tour or the stages on music banks during promotions for Answer next week :)
Kpop fans need to realize that they aren't doing anyone any service by praising and defending what is objectively poor technique, ergo something that prevents the vocalist from realizing his/her full potential and what might even be severely damaging in the long run. I loved the video and your attitude! You seem to be not only very knowledgeable but also a great pedagogist, which, as a teacher (of a different kind) myself, I can say often means more than pure theory.
Completely agree with everything you've said! What I find sad, though, is that people who criticize can do it with such negativity and even hate at times. Oftentimes, it's unnecessary the way their criticism is presented. I think that's why many fans are fast to jump in their favorites' defense.
Chanel A But it isn’t negative or being hateful to say XX did a bad job or XX is a bad singer if it’s true. But of course if a stan sees that they’ll immediately get mad. Even if I like BTS for example, there are surprisingly lots of times when I watch lives and can’t help but cringe because they (or one of them) just doesn’t sound good or they hit a note that is just bad. For people who care about the sound it can detract from the performance as well. I don’t think it’s hateful to be honest about that.
damaging is the key. its happened to a lot of people already....but keep defending..you're just hurting these artist you love. even adele had to take a massive long break because she messed up her vocals chords cause bad technique.
When you said that Taeyeon is scared of high notes and her mistakes was just cuz of her mentality, thats pretty spot on. She mentioned a long time ago that she doesn't really like or enjoy high notes.
Conclusion: Taeyeon and Chen fucking know how to sing Btw can you try to do vocal analysis for some KPOP performances in the future? I'd suggest you "Immortal songs" of Idols like MAMAMOO and RedVelvet (Wengy)... or Masked singer. I like how you take the time to actually explain and not just go "yeah bad, yeah good" like other "vocal trainers"
i'm an army and I think that this guy is being honest and a professional one, jimin himself know that there are still lacking in his vocal skills and doing some vocal lessons to improve his vocal during these days so guys stop mocking and dissing this guy because he knows what he's doing. Our attitude reflects to bts so continue doing that and people will hate us more and call us crazy because of some immature acts.
Alyssa At least your being nice about it, and not an amateur. Everyone here are being amateur’s and we know he is lacking because of insecurity’s and all that. And nobody is perfect. I don’t think singers are going to ALWAYS nail everything.
In my opinion, Joy needs to work on her pronunciation when singing. For example, when you look at Wendy or Seulgi, the way their mouths form the word is very clear and forward, which allows the sound to get out completely, which makes it better. Whereas with Joy, you can't really see it because for some reason, her upper lips would always stay fl
i usually hate watching videos like this because it’s typically kboos pretending to be an expert on smth that they’re just spectators on- it being snobby about it- you’re so pure and talented and intelligent. I love how you approach your videos :)
As a vocalist, I find your videos so helpful and educational!! I'm a huge k-pop fan and it's so interesting to see someone as straightforward and honest as you review these vocalists. I do like some of the singers you criticized and it's neat to see your respectful viewpoint on their techinique. Keep up the good work.
this dude portrays constructive criticism. everybody has flaws, now, say if you’re an army and he said something about Jimin, calm your shit down and let him say whatever he wants to say. if jimin coughed, you would worship it. singing is not exactly that easy. i have to admit that both of the vocals in jimin’s blood sweat & tears clip were pretty bad. i’m not a solo stan. the first one made Jimin look tired and a bit upset. The second one had indeed sounded edited and filled with compressors.
@@sara-rc6nq yeah there were pic taken of him having pads under his scarf during that award show... its hard to sing. I tried and woops i destroyed my families eyedrums every singer will have good and bad days.
they have amazing vocals. and i think there company let’s them stay in there vocal range meaning they don’t have to strain there voice, not a lot of mistakes 😂💜
Sam, if you're reading this: don't mind the 200+ dislikes. Kpop fans are known to be very sensitive when it comes to their favs. Being realistic is not an option, you need to praise idols at all times and if you don't they say you're bashing/hating them. I'm glad you're not faking and just tell what you think.
Folactics I am a Kpop fan, but tbh I didn't mind all the constructive criticism he's being honest, I like it, we can be sensitive sometimes, but I did come to comments to see if anyone got mad about Jimin cuz of how hard he has worked tho
Ikr, Jimin’s my ult bias but I agree with him and then others are like “jiMINIE IS PERFECT” .. *i mean in my eyes he is perfect but generally no he’s not he has a lot to improve on and he knows that but I don’t see why people are getting SO defensive and can’t accept it.*
I seriously wanted to see his opinions on YG singers like rose, bom, junhoe, and taeyang because YG’s bad habit is to ruin their artists natural voice and techniques to match the so called “YG Style” :(
Chocoffee _ but if you realize taeyang’s voice change since bigbang debut it somehow gets thinner and thinner. Try to listen again to old bigbang songs
I'd be interested in seeing that too, although I'm not sure I agree with the prevailing notion that their voices are being ruined. I think it's possible for good singers to sing in different styles. I think Rosé can sing in the YG house style, and still sing more naturally when that talent is called upon. It'd be nice to see what Sam has to say (He'd have to watch a lot of videos, I suspect).
finally, you, the vocal coach that gives credible explanations! the others that ive seen just nod their head and go 'ooh yeah great' throughout the entire thing even when theyre singing badly. subscribed :)
AYE you scrolling through the comments. YEAH you. I hope you enjoyed the video, but don’t go and comment something that can start fanwars like some have been doing!
The EXO one literally was me when I first started listening to EXO and I listened to monster. I really love that song and those high notes and runs towards the end messed with my heart and I couldn't breathe after that. Also, what's your opinion on the cover of "Breathe" by Lee Hi on "The King of Masked Singers"? (I think that's what that show's called) I cried when I heard it because it was so emotional to me

Ikr? I'm sick of those people who react and are just like "wow wow amazing! " While I, a kpop fan, am not impressed
SM is the only company that knows how to train vocals
Sm says hi. Sm produces vocal kings.

Breana OK they probably had that before and were taught that before. but during the fake love comeback jimin and seokjin both said bang pd said no to getting a vocal coach because their high note sounded better when he strained. twitter.com/angelvocalksj/status/1003697649239724034?s=21
edit: i forgot to add. i am not saying their vocals are bad, none of them are in my opinion but then again i’m not a professional. i think their voices are very pretty and impact me emotionally. all i’m saying is that the constant strain they put on their voices can hurt them
@@kmbkgs
What you said was Jins words taken out of context , so please try again!
This is the fairest and most reasonable appraisal I have yet seen about Kpop vocals. Thank you.

Raquel Almeida but it's not as challenging
Only people who really understand music know how hard it is to hit a low note and not many people can hit these notes so if you can you are really special
i always thought head voice is pretty simple? like singing high in chest voice is hard, but head voice? eh? im not saying its not hard its just... i dont have a stance about the low notes, but i do think they are in some cases very hard
I had like a whole idea about like videos on stable vocals and all but i got distracted and forgot everything dammit
Zeenia Rathore Whay happens to him?
YerinDubs I am not sure who you are asking about but I will tell of both. Chen's voice didn't actually crack it was a technical issue bcz his voice sounds completely normal in fancams. For Baekhyun he just likes to play around with his voice so much so he does crazy things and it does affect him but he tries not to let it get to him even if his voice cracked sometimes. He goes for it anyways and mostly he nails it.

like when they sang delilah and passion flower especially
YESSSS PLS VOCAL QUEEENS
love how he repeated Chen's part in Monster liiiike, even strangers know he's got it, our high note vocal legend Kim Jongdae🤩
And his worst was bc fans were literally sCREAMING they couldn't be heard so he had to pick it up a notch but he sang (screamed) basically a minute or two into the song, so his voice got all raspy :< that Monster stage was indeed the worst one :')
I mean technically you don't really hear "strain", just the affects that strain on the voice causes.
Didn't he said that he wanted to take a break to have vocal lessons maybe a few months cause he was never trained properly?
Pls keep this way of commenting since you've nothing to lose even though they come at your throat 😂
P/s: it would be great if you can make a video on nct's vocals. Been wanting to know your opinion on their voices especially the top vocalists in the group if you dont mind.
I love hearing the pro's opinions
Even though getting judged hurts
Its only to help you get better at what your bad at anyways
oh yes! my fellow nctzen... i suggest TIMELESS...
wow thanks for actually being critical of vocals and not being afraid of fans lol also thank you for actually talking about the vocals not like other channels calling themselves vocal trainers and then not even comment on the vocals or use any jargon lol
I practiced a lot, and I cried and went through a lot of internal struggle.”
If you watch Joy perform on "The King of the Masked Singer" (where she made it to the next round) or the vocal line perform on "Immortal Songs" you can see her talent when she isn't ill.
Kronk I appreciate your honesty and I am really happy that you didn’t get any hate comments
Atleast there trying there hardest
@@Snoogiebug08 yah but what @Kronk said is right 🤷🏻♀️
I accept the imperfection of Jiminie, but LET ME KNOW exist💜💜
This is the first time i have ever seen an Army accept the truth about their Idol.
I am with you fam!!
Conclusion: Taeyeon and Chen fucking know how to sing
Btw can you try to do vocal analysis for some KPOP performances in the future? I'd suggest you "Immortal songs" of Idols like MAMAMOO and RedVelvet (Wengy)... or Masked singer. I like how you take the time to actually explain and not just go "yeah bad, yeah good" like other "vocal trainers"
Do you mean Wendy?
Yves owns my ass Wengy lolol
Mamamoo ohmygod yes!!!!
Chungha also knows how to sing!!!!!
masked singer yusss
i'm an army and I think that this guy is being honest and a professional one, jimin himself know that there are still lacking in his vocal skills and doing some vocal lessons to improve his vocal during these days so guys stop mocking and dissing this guy because he knows what he's doing.
@@minrose3313 yes, jimin knows it and we know it. those people are the immature one who dissing people not knowing the real story behind it
5:11 that's Joy. She has a very unique voice but she's not confident with it. She hesitates to go up or at least try. That makes me so sad....
she was sick at that time tho
She improved a lot for Summer Magic tho I'm so proud of her
Lord Chittaphon she's getting more confident these days. she snapped in summer magic album
@@nctsgrass yes ofc!! She's been doing a lot of hard work. I just hope she knows how talented she is
i usually hate watching videos like this because it’s typically kboos pretending to be an expert on smth that they’re just spectators on- it being snobby about it-
you’re so pure and talented and intelligent. I love how you approach your videos :)
"They're so good performers that it doesn't matter what they sound like" HAHAHAHHA I LOVE THIS VIDEO HE IS SO HONEST IN ALL OF HIS REACTIONS 💜
I think they originally (for the best one) sang live, but the editor put the song over to make it sound better.
He never said anything bad about Jimin. You did tho, Susan.
Some people said that Jimin was sick in the worst one :/
Bangtan Duck he was. He had a flu and even lost voice some days prior to that event. He had to push too hard to perform.
@@sara-rc6nq yeah there were pic taken of him having pads under his scarf during that award show... its hard to sing. I tried and woops i destroyed my families eyedrums every singer will have good and bad days.
Of course MAMAMOO are not there
they have amazing vocals. and i think there company let’s them stay in there vocal range meaning they don’t have to strain there voice, not a lot of mistakes 😂💜
Watch the video of Sam reacting to mamamoo's vocal
There worst is better than everyone's best, they are a girlgroup that focuses on the vocal over everything else so.
Um literally just watching too see if they are here. Thanks 😂
Erna Bajric They’re not new, they debuted in 2014
Sam, if you're reading this: don't mind the 200+ dislikes.
Folactics EXACTLY
i love reading the comments and seeing fans get offensive 😂
Day Reyes I’m not offended even when I’m a bts fan
Ikr, Jimin’s my ult bias but I agree with him and then others are like “jiMINIE IS PERFECT”
..
*i mean in my eyes he is perfect but generally no he’s not he has a lot to improve on and he knows that but I don’t see why people are getting SO defensive and can’t accept it.*
You crazy 😂
Ikrr
I seriously wanted to see his opinions on YG singers like rose, bom, junhoe, and taeyang because YG’s bad habit is to ruin their artists natural voice and techniques to match the so called “YG Style” :(
amfiba Idk about rose and bom. But Junhoe and Taeyangs voice was originally like that. No one forced them to change it
Chocoffee _ but if you realize taeyang’s voice change since bigbang debut it somehow gets thinner and thinner.
Chocoffee _ no junhoe voice was So much better in his trainee days it’s crazy how his voice doesnt stand out in ikon’s songs anymore...
Also jisoo
"He's telling jokes, this guy's a joker" GOD YOU DONT EVEN KNOW
finally, you, the vocal coach that gives credible explanations! the others that ive seen just nod their head and go 'ooh yeah great' throughout the entire thing even when theyre singing badly. subscribed :)
Love your honesty! Most "vocal teacher/coach" reacts are biased and fake.
AYE you scrolling through the comments. YEAH you. I hope you enjoyed the video, but don’t go and comment something that can start fanwars like some have been doing!
Sugas Toothbrush lmao clever
xoxo jiminie pfft I know right :’)
Also I like your pfp :))
Sugas Toothbrush aw ty~ he’s cute ik
Oki Sugas toothbrush =3
You are like the first logical Army I encounter!!Are you by any chance multifandom?
The EXO one literally was me when I first started listening to EXO and I listened to monster. I really love that song and those high notes and runs towards the end messed with my heart and I couldn't breathe after that.
Also, what's your opinion on the cover of "Breathe" by Lee Hi on "The King of Masked Singers"? (I think that's what that show's called) I cried when I heard it because it was so emotional to me
